Prince’s Gambit was by far my favorite out of the Captive Prince Trilogy. Golden Age vibes, Commander x Second-in-command, UST, it truly had it all to make me fall. This was one of the scenes that had me actually trembling while I was reading.
if I could draw I’d do a picture set at a bar (modern au) where in the foreground are damen and laurent eyefucking intensely over their drinks and damen is just starting to reach out to cup laurent’s cheek and under the bar you see their knees are barely brushing and laurent is reaching for damen’s thigh but not touching it quite yet and you hold your breath because you can tell that’s what they’re doing, too, waiting and watching each other and anticipating
and in the background pallas is doing body shots off lazar
