Made something super dramatic. I actually haven’t reread the scene that inspired this since like 2015 so whether it’s at all accurate to the book is debatable but oh well
I suppose they’re each the villain in each other’s story, alas. I wanted to show a version of them both wounded by the scars inflicted upon them by each other. They’re not good for each other, per se, but they are inevitably drawn together as two people who see what no one else does as they walk that fine line between love and hate. That’s why darklina lives rent free in my head. Although to be fair, it might be binbons’ puppy dog eyes actually….
Anyway all I want from season 2 is a proper corruption arc for Alina. I mean, Jessie wants to do it! Give it to us, you cowards!

AU where Darklina are actually a happy couple for a change. Anyway this show destroyed me and I’m going to be drawing even more grishaverse art for a while because Darklina is my muse.
I know it’s not Ben Barnes, but I’ve had this image stuck in my head ever since I read the books, and now that the series came out it just felt like the right moment to give in to my desperate desire to dress up Alina in full Russian-court inspired getup. No regrets.
