GDP “The Nightmare” Happy Halloween
It is a night like any other. Yancy and his girlfriend are getting ready to enjoy a night in with popcorn, a movie and a bag of that Grand Daddy Purp. As he sits down next to his beautiful dark skinned honey on the couch, he looks over at her and she seems to have become someone completely different; a girl with blond hair and blue eyes. Shaking it off, he reaches for a handful of popcorn looks at her again and she’s become some petite, caramel-skinned girl with long black hair!
Confused and a tad freaked out, Yancy proceeds to roll up. He looks over again and she seems to be herself. As he sits back, lights up and takes a couple puffs, he turns to look at his girl again and suddenly feels the affects of the Purples taking over…! Stay tuned to experience one of the spookiest mini-movies since Thriller. It’s a nightmare on Purp Street!!

“This is not a beat tape”, Intricate Sound declares. YD contributes, “We both felt putting out your typical-sounding beats does no good for the growth and expansion of hip-hop”. The care free, genre-switching project is a mash-up of 808 kicks, grungy guitar, soft melodic patterns and chorded synths, with a few hidden tracks!

The Difference SP is the very first installment of a long lineup of SP’s for Yancy Deron this year. This specific SP was created in only 7 days and was mixed in 2 days by Intricate Sound. It features original production, including a collaboration with his 2 year old homie, combined with a selection of fine-picked instrumentals. The theme here is exactly what the title declares, different. If one thing is for certain, it’s the fact that this SP is like a big pot of gumbo served to all yet enjoyed by few. ThankQ for listening, sharing, posting.
“SP” which usually stands for “short-play” has instead been used to abbreviate the term “standalone project”. Each SP will take on its own theme and feeling; its own personification. I don’t feel a need to stay within a certain lane with my music. I feel the need to give you what I feel. I feel the need to express my individuality in hopes that it may inspire listeners to accept the usually unaccepted and just listen. - YD
