HARRY POTTER MASTERLIST

Summary: When Draco Malfoy starts replying to your heart filled words with snarky comments, you somehow end up tearing the whole room apart while white feathers flutter around in your faces.

Lets be honest, this is so unusual,” i muttered as I sat between Draco’s legs, his hands weaving through my hair as I slumped deeper against his hard core. “What’s so unusual?” He questioned his fingers now playfully braiding my hair. Pausing for a quick second, i shuffle under him, flipping myself over as I  sit opposite him, legs crossed while I  gaze straight into his magnetic, alluring eyes.

“I mean- never in a thousand years did I ever think that allmy emotions would be all ‘cause of you,” I elaborated as a small smile curved from the corner of his lips cheekily. “Well your not wrong,”.

What was that supposed to mean?. “I mean there’s so many other clever, smart and beautiful girls out there and well- here I am sat with you,” his voice dripping with what seemed like Sarcasm but at the same time it sounded like he was taunting me. Grabbing at the pillow beside me, I wrapped my arms around it, slightly huffing under my breathe.

“I’m not tempted, even if their beautiful,” I blurted almost quick enough to cut him off from his sentence. I started to sound like I was filled with jealousy but apart of me felt like he was just messing with my head or purposely trying to get on my nerves. “No honestly Draco- I’ve never thought of letting go- I don’t know where I would be without you,” my voice more serious as my hand immediately flew to his wrist, my breathing hitching as I confessed something that had been eating me alive. I’d never seen a future with someone than this immensely gorgeous and loyal, platinum blonde haired boy and I don’t think I’d ever have wanted too either.

“You’d probably end up being very lonely,” he spluttered, making my heart twist as my body started to tense up. He was either being really straightforward or he was just being snarky. Classic Draco Malfoy. Pursing my lips into a fine line, my hand slowly withdrew from him,  climbing out of his already made bed, avoiding any sort of eye contact. Desperately clutching onto his soft pillow, my eyes started to well up, my gaze now fixed on the shiny floor beneath me.

Rapidly blinking away my tears, I could hear Him breaking out into a giggle which soon

Distorted into a hysterical sort of laugh, his body falling backwards into a pile of pillows as he seemed to have kicked back and tried to relax. Another trailing whisper of his faint giggle escaped his lips while his eyes wrinkled up and a wide grin plastered his mouth.

A feeling of anger washed over me as i hurled my pillow directly into Malfoy’s direction, a look of frustration smothering my face as his grin drooped. “Are you taking the mickey Malfoy?” I spat as a tear drop slides down my cheek. Springing from the mattress of his bed almost instantly, he made his way around to me, clasping his hands around my body as he pulled me into his chest. “Y/n you know I was only kidding right? I didn’t mean any of that stuff that I said,” he explained, his words becoming muffled as he planted soft kisses onto the top of my head.

Grabbing at my hands, he pulled me down, making me sit on the soft sheets of his bed as his finger lifted my chin up so that I could look straight into his apologetic eyes. “Neither did I ever think that all of my emotions would be because of you.. and no.. your the only girl in Hogwarts who has both the beauty and the brains. I don’t think I’d ever seen a future with someone other than you,” he confessed as he wiped at my tears, a small smile tugging at my lips.

“Your such a baby,” he mumbled, his mouth breaking out into a smile as I narrowed my eyes. “In what way do you mean that?” I asked eagerly, a grin showing up at the surface of my mouth as his gaze fixated on my iridescent features. Ever so sneakily, my fingers slithered towards the pillow that I previously threw at him, fingertips barely away from it. Fisting at the pillow, I brought it up between the two of us as I playfully smacked him across the head.

“Aw! What was that for?” He mentioned as he pouted like a lost puppy. “Payback,” I giggled as one of his brows lifted and his head cocked to the side. “Oh your on!”

Pillow fights normally end up with a shit ton of pearly, white feathers flying across the room while the bed was was rearranged in a messy manner, bed sheets hanging onto the mattress for dear life as we fell back onto the bed, our heads softly hitting the material while laughters of pure bliss escaped our throats, our hands intertwining as we looked at the ceiling above, panting breathlessly as we laid against one another just like two peas in a pod. “You know I’ve never thought of leaving you,” he whispered when his breathing returned back to normal. “Not even sometimes,”

“No, it’s a stupid holiday.”

Draco crossed his arms in a stubborn child-like way, a scowl on his face as he stared forward towards the front of the class where Snape was giving a lecture on the small but vicious Erkling creatures.

“Come on, please,” you pleaded quietly. Your gaze kept flickering between your easily-irked professor and the pouting blond beside you, hoping that in a few short seconds you would get the answer you were hoping for that way you could get back into your notes instead of possibly getting a detention or losing house points.

In all the years you’ve been friends with the Prince of Slytherin, you learned that he loathed the holiday and any festivities that came with it. Every year, you beg him to go out to one of the many parties that are thrown ranging from small gatherings to full-on blowouts or just do something halloween related with you, but he always refuses. His reasoning, as he put it, was that he was simply ‘too mature to be dressing up as a foul creature.’

You knew he mostly spent the holiday either asleep in his dorm or walking around aimlessly with Crabbe and Goyle to target unsuspecting first-years after the big feast but this year, you finally had enough of his anti-halloween agenda. You wanted to spend the evening and hopefully night with him laughing by your side and showing him how fun everything could be, but most of all - you wanted to see him in a costume.

“Please, if you go I will never ask you for anything ever again,” you tried again once Snape had turned his back to the class.

Draco pursed his lips as though he was genuinely considering it, his eyes still locked on the back of the greasy-haired professor before he turned slightly to you with a deep sigh. “Fine, but don’t expect this to be an annual thing.”

You gave him a bright smile, holding yourself back from jumping around in your seat and completely pushing aside the desire to throw your arms around him in excitement.

“I promise you’ll have fun.”

He hid the small smile that grew on his face from seeing how happy his answer made you, turning his head down towards his parchment filled with notes that all of a sudden seemed interesting as he avoided your gaze. He wouldn’t admit it, but he was the smallest bit of excited at the thought of spending the holiday with you because he knew that wherever you went or whatever you did, he would be perfectly content with you by his side because for the first time in all your years as friends; he realized only a month ago that the weird fluttering feeling in the pit of his stomach when he was around you or the weird overwhelming warmth that spread throughout his entire body like an ocean of water breaking through a dam - was a crush. He hated it at first, noticing and begrudgingly acknowledging it. He thought it was cliche that he somehow fell for one of his closest friends and mostly, he thought that he was going to ruin the friendship entirely. He wanted to wreck it himself, trying to distance himself from you and being extra mean - but he couldn’t.

He adored your company too much and everything that came with you. He adores your laugh, your smile, your hugs when you greet him and how you somehow give him one each time he needs it the most. He adores the study-buddy system you guys have almost every other week before a quiz or an exam. He adores your bad jokes and clumsy accidents even though those qualities annoy him with anyone else. He adores the way you want him to join you in everything fun you and he especially adores the times when he overhears you talking about him as if he’s your favorite person in the world.

Bottom line, he’s all about you.

So when this season of spookiness came, he was expecting your pleading for him to spend the day with you. Only this time, it only took you a couple times before he ultimately agreed to give in to you.

You were ready to explode with thrill at the thought of what the night held in store for you and you didn’t hide it one bit. When the big Hogwarts Hallowe’en feast was over and every one began spilling out from the Great Hall and into the main foyer, you were searching restlessly for a clean mop of silver hair that almost always stuck out in the mass of students. You weren’t sure if you were able to spot him anywhere in under a few seconds because he was unimaginably important to you, or because his hair was so uniquely bright, or maybe it was how boisterous and loud Crabbe and Goyle always were when they were by him, especially if he was with other Slytherins - but you found him, every single time with ease.

After standing on your tippy-toes several times to overlook the stampede of everyone, you finally spotted Draco leaning across a pillar with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face while he stood in a circle of his House friends that included his two goons and his quidditch teammates. You watched him thoughtfully as you approached, taking slow steps towards the group to admire him from afar and also because they were all slightly intimidating. He looked lost in the conversation, laughs escaping from his upturned lips as he listened to whatever was being said, large pale hands running through his hair every so often when the front pieces of his hair would flop down to his forehead.

He looked ridiculously good and effortlessly at that.

You weren’t sure if you should interrupt, hesitating a few feet away from them to where they couldn’t sense your presence but you were close enough to see and hear them clearly.

“We’ll see you later tonight then, Malfoy?” One of the boys nodded towards Draco.

“I’ll show up for a bit, I suppose,” he shrugs.

You see him look around the circle of boys, eyes landing on you momentarily and then back to his friends before doing a double-take towards you again in surprise. You tried to ignore the butterflies erupting in your stomach when his smile widens slightly into a short-lived toothy grin while he said a quick goodbye to his friends causing them all to disband and him to start approaching you.

“Are you ready for the halloween of a lifetime?” You ask as he neared.

He rolled his eyes, laughing faintly. “Where am I meeting you, darling?”

The nick name he used so rarely for you made your knees feel weak, a warm blush rushing up your neck and inching onto your cheeks that you knew was going to be very apparent on your face in a few seconds.

“I’ll meet you right here in an hour,” you say quickly.

You didn’t give him time to answer before you turned quickly in the direction of your common room and began rushing away before he could see the effect he had on you that was so clearly appearing on your face.

You didn’t know what the night held for you and Draco or where it would lead you. Unknowing to you, you were both hoping something more could come out of the evening between the two of you. But he wasn’t one to express himself in that department of feelings and you weren’t feeling bold enough to say anything about yours. It was a gray area of hoping that fate could somehow intervene and throw the two of you into what you both wanted without either of you really saying anything - but it was impossible. There was no outcome or situation you had in mind that could lead you into that, so you were stuck desperately hoping that one day things might end up differently.

It was beginning to feel ironic how in your world full of real tangible magic, there wasn’t a magical solution to your problem. You were trapped feeling like a muggle who had to figure things out by themselves, no magic included. The thought of giving him a love potion did cross your mind as a joke, but it wasn’t a genuine or fair option but little did you know, you don’t need a potion for him to feel the same way - because he already did.

Walking into your dorm felt like an exuberant disaster of everyone running around and sitting in front of mirrors with their makeup or dressing into their costumes. It was noisy and filled with chatter and you were in shock from how much clutter everyone was able to make in such a short period of time from when the feast ended to now. A simple spell would clean everything up so you and everybody else didn’t really pay it any mind.

You maneuvered around the mess of your housemates and towards your bed where your costume was kept in the trunk underneath it, plopping down onto the floor to pull it from the underskirt of your House colored bedding.

“Did he finally say yes?” Your closest roomie friend jumped onto your bed, propping herself up on her elbows and resting her chin on her hands as she watched you dig through your bottomless trunk.

“Surprisingly, yes,” you answered, hiding the smile on your face.

She drawled out a teasing ‘ooh,’ poking your arm lightly with her index finger as you shied away and leaned deeper into your trunk. She was the only one who you willingly admitted your crush to as she was the only person you really trusted to not blather it off to someone.

“Will I be seeing you two in the Slytherin common room?” She wiggled her eyebrows. “The boys are throwing a party and I luckily got an invite, you know how they are. So picky with who shows up.”

“You mean they’re pretentious?” You laugh. “But I don’t know if we’ll be going to it. I know Draco obviously got invited but I was thinking we could do other things.”

“Like what?” She questions as if she knew it was going to be something dirty. “I know a few secret spots around the castle-”

“No, get your mind out of the gutter,” you smack her arm lightly. “I honestly have no clue what to do. I didn’t think he’d actually agree because he never does.”

She runs her hands over her face, stifling her laughs of disbelief before she sighed loudly. “I still suggest some broom closets, hidden out of sight.”

You sit up, pushing her from where she was lying while she laughed amusingly at your false horrified reaction that you put on to hide the fact from her that what she was suggestion really waswhat you wanted.

“I’ll leave you alone so you can get your costume on,” she smiles, jumping up from your bed and tossing one of your pillows at you as she walked away. You let out a huff, tossing it back onto your duvet before setting your costume down on the spot your friend was lying in.

You stared at it hesitantly, all of a sudden feeling nauseous at the thought of going out later with Draco as if it was some sort of date even though you knew it wasn’t. It was just two friends, hanging out, doing some spooky and fun Halloween activities together and nothing more; so why were you feeling so nervous? You weren’t sure if it was your instincts warning you of something major that was approaching or the fear that what you didn’t have planned was going to bite you in the arse when you continuously told Draco he was going to enjoy himself when you didn’t even know if that was going to be true. You didn’t want to disappoint him and mess it up for you in the future when the holiday came again and you didn’t want this to be the first and last time you experienced it with him.

The pressure was raining down on you like thick, hard pieces of hail with no end in sight.

As you were getting dressed and doing your makeup for your costume as you liked, (i’m trying to be vague for your own imagination teehee) all you could think about was what in the hell you were going to do once you met up with the Prince of Slytherin. Your train of thought was then derailed into wondering what he was going to be dressed up as or if he was going to be dressed up at all considering the way he is. He was the type to make fun of people who dressed up, that you knew when you ran into him last year as you were walking back to your common room with your friend, both of you in costume and victims of his gentle bullying. He obviously went easier on the two of you since you were there, telling you he was just messing around afterwards and saying he liked yours but once you were out of his sight but still in ear-shot, you heard him and his two minions berating a small group of people that unfortunately passed by them.

You gave yourself one last look in the floor mirror, letting out a long shaky exhale with your hands clasped together before you started towards the way out of your dorm, through the common room, and ultimately towards the foyer outside the Great Hall where Draco was most likely waiting for you. An hour had gone by since you last saw him, an hour of stress and panic that hadn’t slowed down or stopped.

Your shoes dragged against the stone floors, hugging yourself tightly as you walked nearer towards the spot where you were supposed to meet and as you lifted your gaze - you saw him there, staring right at you with a small grin and just like you expected, no costume.

“Nice costume,” he compliments when you reach him.

“Where’s yours?” You frown.

“I’m not dressing up. That’s embarrassing,” he shakes his head.

You scoff, crossing your arms. “You’re the only one not dressed up,that’sembarrassing.”

You don’t know why it was irritating to you that he wasn’t in costume, even if you knew he wasn’t. You figured it was because you were trying to overpower your nervousness with different more consuming feelings, and much to your and Draco’s dismay, it worked.

You weren’t nervous anymore, just irked.

“I’m staying like this, take it or leave it.”

You rolled your eyes, staring him down and hoping that he would change his mind but he wouldn’t. He was ridiculously stubborn.

In the heat of the moment of a fleeting thought, you decided that if he wasn’t going to be in costume, you would put him in one or at least a hint of one. You pulled your wand out, pointing it onto his striking white hair and with one easy spell, his hair was now a flaming vibrant red.

Y/N!” He growled, running towards the closest thing that would show off his reflection where he let out a string of frantic curse words. “I look like a bloody Weasley.”

Your laughter caught him off guard, the sound ringing in his ears like music that spread warmth throughout him. You were clutching at your stomach with one hand and pointing at him with the other, giggling wildly at the sight of him with hair that did not suit him at all. He smiled to himself, your glee rubbing off on him abruptly that ate away quickly at his anger.

“You should’ve given me some ratty old hand-me-down robes and I’d look just like Ron,” he notes.

“That’s rude, Draco,” you say still laughing. He smirks, leaving the shiny statue of a knight in armor where he was checking his reflection and back over to you where you were still stuck in between doubling over in laughter and watching him.

“I’m glad this is funny to you,” he muses. He begins digging into the pocket of his dress pants, taking your vulnerability as a chance for him to tap his wand to the top of your head and before you could react, your whole hair had turned a deep green.

Your laughter immediately ended as you ran towards the suit of armor, your grimacing reflection staring back at you with deep Slytherin green hair and a distorted Draco behind you doubling over just like you were moments ago.

“This looks,” you couldn’t even finish your sentence, the scowl on your face saying enough for you as you turned bitterly towards Draco.

“Great?” He suggested, his guffawing subsiding into airy chuckles as you stood in front of him. Yours picked up again as you stared up at him, his striking bright red hair looking terribly unfamiliar on him. He was looking down at you, his heart jumping at the sight of you holding back your laughter. “You really do look dashing by the way.”

You swallowed thickly, thankful for the darkness that had settled around the castle and easily hid the scarlet brush appearing on your face. “But my hair is green.”

“Green is my favorite color.”

You opened your mouth to speak, your stomach and heart dropping simultaneously as your mind went completely blank. You pretended to not notice how he took a step closer to you to where he was almost fully against you and he pretended not to notice the way your lips were parted and how your chest was rising and falling a little too heavily as if you were nervous. It was game over for you when his gaze flickered down towards your lips and then back to your eyes, his head leaning down just the slightest like if he were waiting for you to meet him halfway. You were about to get closer to him, about to let your eyes close and give in to what you believed was him wanting to kiss you - but the world had other plans.

“Malfoy! There you are!” Someone boomed, clambering up the steps from the direction of the dungeons. You both jumped away from each other, your attention diverted to the Slytherin boy that interrupted the moment. “Malfoy come on, the party! And you can bring her too.”

You frowned when the boy came up to the two of you, clearly tipsy, dressed as a stereotypical vampire, and over-excited with the fact that Draco was out and willing to participate in Halloween festivities. It seemed like it bothered the now red-head when he looked to you and then back to the Slytherin boy with an apprehensive expression.

The boy, sensing the pause in the air, grabbed onto both you and Draco’s arms and started dragging the two of you towards the Slytherin common room where although the stone walls were thick, the sound of people celebrating inside were easily slipping past the stone slabs. He spoke the password out quickly and as soon as the entrance was open, you were both shoved inside into what looked like the largest party you had ever witnessed in all your years at Hogwarts. It was packed and filled with what looked like half of the school, or at least a huge majority of fifth-years and up. It was loud with music booming from a brand new wizarding-world radio in the middle of the room currently playing a song from the Weird Sisters. It smelled like a mixture of everyone’s perfumes and colognes and like firewhisky. The boy that pushed you two inside quickly passed you two cups of the very potent firewhisky before downing the third one he had in his hand and disappeared into the crowd while screaming for you to enjoy yourselves.

You both stood awkwardly away from the big and rowdy crowd, your drink clenched tightly in your hand against your chest and Draco swishing his around while it was still in the cup.

He wanted to up and run, thinking that someone was going to make a comment about his hair or about him being there, but no one seemed to pay attention to him or that he was there and in a way, he felt relieved by it and less tense by the second.

“How in the bloody hell did we end up here?” You yelled over the music, putting a hand over his arm that was holding his drink up. You didn’t mean to, but you were glad you did because he glanced down at the contact with a small smile before looking back up to you.

“We got dragged here, remember!” He yelled back.

“What?”

“We got dragged here!”

“I can’t hear you!”

He rolled his eyes, bending down towards your ear to repeat himself one last time before you finally heard him over the mayhem around you.

“This is crazy!” You looked around the room, the sight of all the bodies and recklessness being too much as they were all more than likely drunk and oblivious to how stuffy and suffocating the room was becoming.

You looked down at the golden brown liquid sloshing around in your cup, wondering whether or not you should take it, but with the nervousness you felt coming back, it didn’t take you much longer to decide to down your cup and allow the liquid courage to seep into your veins. Draco watched you with amusement, chuckling to himself when you scrunched up your face in disgust from the burn he knew it caused as it went down your throat. He shook his head, deciding to drink his too and it was only minutes that passed before the drink was quickly becoming apparent in your systems. There was something about Firewhisky that always made its mark promptly and it really was courage in a bottle that you were glad was available to you in that moment because you were sure that in just a few minutes you were close to fainting.

You were beginning to sway faintly to the music, the rhythm sounding more loud but distant and more invigorating. You didn’t care anymore if anyone was watching or that Draco was observing you curiously just as he was beginning to lose all sense of holding himself back. He was inching closer to you, his head moving slightly to beat of the song and pure joy etched onto his features when your eyes met his.

“I keep forgetting I turned your hair red!” You yelled up to him, laughing loudly when he ran his hand through it. In your moment of confidence, you reached up and lightly ran your fingers over one of the front pieces hanging over his forehead. He didn’t stop you, his heart hammering against his chest from the drink and his overwhelming crush that was clouding all his senses. “Your hair is so soft!”

He wanted to pin you up against the wall right then and there. You were peering up at him, just as you were before you were dragged inside by one of his Housemates and as soon as he was about to kiss you.

“Do you want to get out of here?” He knew to bend down this time for you to hear him to which you responded with a fervent nod. You took his hand in yours, pulling him towards the exit of the common room and he let you lead him into the coldness of the dungeons that bit at his cheeks. It was a stark difference from the warmth inside, the crisp October air being more chilled than what either of you were expecting. It felt nice against your flushed skin and easier to breathe, especially once after the common room closed again and you could hear was muffled talking and music.

Neither of you were drunk and were still aware of pretty much everything, mostly the feelings stirring inside you both that was begging either of you to make a move towards the other. You were just a tad tipsy, and so was he, but it was enough for you to still enjoy the night without the initial awkwardness that oddly settled in between you. It was weird, considering how open and talkative you usually were with each other but there was something about the evening that made it feel like if you didn’t know each other.

“What now?” He asked you with a raised brow, his hand slipping into his pocket.

You smiled, an idea coming to your head that you knew he would love and you didn’t mind doing in the name of Halloween. “Do you want to go mess with people?”

He stared at you with widened eyes, “bloody hell, I love you.”

There was nothing that could have prepared you for his response, your own eyes widening in shock as you stared at him. He felt his face get hot in embarrassment, Merlin, he felt so stupid. He was mentally smacking himself in the head, desperately wishing he could bury himself seven feet under the Earth and staying there until the end of time.

He was about to play off what he said in a joking way, but for the second time that night he was interrupted by a couple that stumbled out of the common room drunkenly snogging each other’s faces off and wholly oblivious to you and Draco standing there in lingering panic. You jumped back into his arms when the couple staggered past you, almost knocking you over in the process of their makeout session and it annoyed you beyond belief. It annoyed you that they were in your way, annoyed that they interrupted you, annoyed that it wasn’t you in their position with the one you wanted.

You dug your wand out of your pocket, flicking it their way as they rolled onto the wall, still in each other’s hold until the hex that flew from your wand hit the boy causing him to stagger back from the girl and holding his nose in pain. You heard Draco laugh from behind you when bats began to fly out from the boy’s nostrils while the girl screamed and ran away from one of the bats that swept down onto her head. The bats flew out of the dungeon and up the stairs with the boy struggling loudly the whole way up until his panicked screams were no longer heard.

“That was a perfect bat-bogey,” he looks at you proudly. “I feel bad for that poor bloke’s nose.”

“Thank you, thank you,” you bowed jokingly.

When the sound of the door opened again, you both ran to hide behind a long drape against the wall that didn’t hide your shoes very well and pressed up against your bodies that’s shapes were no doubt visible from the opposite side.

You heard footsteps trail haphazardly down the corridor, their back seemingly facing you and as you both peeked your heads out from behind the drape, Draco nodded towards the boy and pointed his wand towards him.

Slugulus Eructo,” you heard him whisper and a stream of green light from his wand hit the back of the boy’s head and as he turned around in surprise while doubling over in pain, his hand clamped tightly over his mouth as slugs began to slip past the spaces between his fingers. When he stood up to run away, you noticed it was the same boy from earlier that stopped you two from the almost kiss and dragged you to the party. You let out a string of giggles as he ran away just like your last victims.

“This is so mean,” you chortle, leaning into him from behind the drape in an attempt to get closer to him. You were feeling bolder when he beamed down at you, feeling happy knowing that although the night was still young, he was having fun. “Thank you for coming with me tonight, I know you don’t like Halloween.” You say quietly.

“You finally convinced me, it’s not that bad,” he grins.

“Why’d you hate it in the first place?”

The question seemed to strike a nerve but the Firewhisky still flowing freely in his veins tore away easily at his defenses so instead of avoiding your question entirely like he usually would, he frowned and let his guard down.

“I don’t hate it,” he answers apprehensively. “My father never let me celebrate it. He never let me dress up. He told me respectable wizards don’t partake in holidays like these.”

His pout made your gut twist in sympathy, your hand instinctively going into his as you squeezed it reassuringly. “It’s never too late to start celebrating. Besides, I don’t see him here stopping you.”

He smiled for what felt like the hundredth time that night, his stained-red hair falling over his eyes as he looked down to his shoes.

“You have a point, darling.”

The door of the common room opened again and what you suspected to be another snogging couple to stumble out from the sound of heavy breathing and multiple shoes scuffling about was something completely different.

“Glad Malfoy stayed with someone else today.” It was Crabbe.

“Yeah, he never lets us go to these parties,” Goyle responds. “Go ahead and thank Y/L/N for freeing us, he fancies her like a fool.”

“Reckon we should go look for them?”

You figured Goyle nodded to him like the blathering idiot he was because in a few short seconds they were running away up the same steps everyone else had.

You peered up slowly at Draco who was already gaping at you like a deer in headlights. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. The gears in your brain were spinning wildly with happiness, the gossip hopefully being proven true when he didn’t try to deny it. You didn’t realize how close his face was to yours, cheeks tinged with pink from both the firewhisky and sudden shyness and his warm cinnamon breath fanning your face as he looked down at you.

“I can explain,” he finally said.

He didn’t need to; you placed your hands gently on his cheeks, pulling him impossibly closer to you and pressing your lips against his, catching him completely by surprise. His eyes were wide at first, his body rigid and his lips unmoving, but once it finally clicked that this was real and no longer a fantasy that played like a broken record in his head, his lips moved fervently against yours with the rest of his body following. His hands gripped your hips tightly, his fingers squeezing at the hem of your bottoms and his body pushing even further into yours.

Your bottom lip caught lightly in between his teeth as you reluctantly pulled away from him, the both of you breathing raggedly as you searched each other’s eyes.

“I feel the same,” you said softly. “Happy Halloween.”

He smashes his lips hungrily against yours again, his ego growing with each gasp of a delight that escapes your mouth as your hands roamed and tangled themselves into his magically colored strands.

“Very…happy…halloween,” he mutters against your lips in between kisses, a dazy smile adorning your face while he tightened his arms around you.

You just couldn’t wait until next year.

“(Y/n), you’re a -”

“No.” They immediately cut Ron off, not glancing up from their essay. The Yule Ball is barely a few days away, and unsurprisingly, Ron has left it to the last minute, as well as their brother. (Y/n) can’t help but laugh internally at their embarrassment.

“You don’t even know what I was going to ask.” Ron sighs, leaning on his elbow as he takes the seat beside them, leaning his weight on his arm and huffing beneath his breath. The two are currently in the Great Hall, meant to be studying, but no longer.

The edges of their lips curl up slightly, but they still do not look up, “I assume that Hermione said no.”

He chokes out a few breaths, making their smile widen ever so slightly, “I- I have no idea what you mean.”

(Y/n) sighs and places their quill down, clasping their hands together on the part of the parchment that is yet to be written on. “Your loss, Ronald.”

There’s a quick pause before Ron scoffs, shaking his head slightly, “it’s not my fault if Hermione wants to go to the Yule Ball alone.” He runs his hand through his hair, biting his lip as he pauses for a second to think everything over - what if she does have a date? He shakes his head again, deciding that the idea is completely wild. “And apparently so do you.”

“How do you know I do not have a date, Ronald?” They raise a brow at him, the ends of their lips curling up slightly. “Is the idea of someone fancying me so shocking?”

There’s a pause before Ron tilts his head side to side, considering the idea, “Yes.”

“Fuck off.”

They take a deep breath and release their ringed hands. They look gorgeous, the dark tones of their attire matching the scenery around them whilst also highlighting their face and hair. They are stunning.

The gazes they were receiving made (Y/n) think otherwise, their shoulders beginning to tense once again as their hands fumbled for each other.

A sigh escapes them once they finally reach Blaise and Pansy by the entrance, both still waiting for their dates.

“You can unclench your teeth, you know,” Pansy states, trying not to laugh as she takes in her friend’s incredibly tense stature. Although there are many frills, Pansy still looks beautiful in her pale pink dress robes. Blaise looks quite handsome in his own dark dress robes, his face content but his knees shaking slightly.

“Sorry,” they let out a nervous laugh, their shoulders still stiff and their hands still curled. Pansy gives (Y/n) a look, which is returned with a weary smile. “Where is -”

“He’s on his way,” Blaise smiles reassuringly, his eyes lighting up slightly as his gaze suddenly shifts to someone behind them. “That’s my date, I-I will see you two later. Have fun.” He mumbles a goodbye before strolling over to the girl, a charismatic smile on his face.

“I swear, if our dates don’t look at us like that, I am done.” Pansy jokes, but (Y/n) can hear an underlying tone of honesty.

“Don’t be daft, Pansy, they will. You look a solid eleven out of -”

“Oi! (Y/n), what are you doing over there?” The familiar voice of Ronald makes them jump, turning swiftly on their heels to face him and their brother on the stairs - both wear looks of disapproval. Whilst Harry wears more modern clothing, Ron does not. The amount of frills and lace is shocking.

“Chatting to some friends.” They look him up and down, biting their lip as their shoulders begin to shake ever so slightly, the shaking worsening as they make a joke in their head, “when did you go grave robbing?”

(I take credit for that joke, 2 am and I am on fire!)

Ron’s frown falls further, whilst their brother has no shame in hiding his laughter.

Pansy scoffs behind them, and (Y/n) turns around to look at her, and this time she has her nose upturned and her mouth pressed in a thin line. However, a smile soon graces her face once they make eye contact, "have fun with Weaslebee and scar-head.”

“Are you sure?”

Pansy nods, taking another look at their brother and his friend, not suppressing her giggles, “I will see you later, have fun.”

“She’s just my friend.” (Y/n) reminds them, reaching the two at the bottom of the stairs. Like the entrance, which they only had a glance, the entryway and stairs are decorated wonderfully; there is mistletoe hanging from the arches, tinsel wrapped around the staircase, and there are trees that litter the corners of this entryway.

“Can the inbred form complex relationships?” Harry jokes, glancing up to the ceiling in thought.

“I don’t know,” (Y/n) grins, “but Ron did.” Their hands are clasped behind their back as they lean back and forth on the balls of their feet.

“Yes, I did,” Ron continues, grinning at the two. “And I must say, you two look amazing… and I look like my great aunt Tessie.” Harry and (Y/n’s) dress robes are far more appropriate and pleasing to the eye’s than Ron’s, by at least a marathon. Ron’s is quite ghastly. Bless him, you can see where he tried to cut the lace.

“Can’t be helped, mate.”

“Shut up, Harry.”

(This would be a good point to start the song if you want to.)

(Y/n) and their date agreed to meet inside the Great Hall, although they had hoped to catch him before, they must have just missed each other. They strain their neck as they weave around the students, trying to look around them. Biting their lip, their cheeks flush as they begin to wonder if everyone can see them looking about, dateless. (Y/n) has a date, he just can’t seem to be found.

They had already witnessed the champion’s dance, without him, and they would much prefer to spend the rest of the evening with him.

Stopping, they decide it would be best to go back to the entry and wait for him to come in, that does make far more sense than simply walking about and hoping to come across him. If only their brother was not so annoying, they could have met outside.

“(Y/n).” He quietly gasps behind them, taking their hand in his, gently spinning them around. Bowing, he presses a gentle kiss to the back of their hand, his eyes not breaking contact with their’s as their stomach begins to flutter.

Standing straight, he looks down to them, not dropping their hand as he smiles, his heart thumping. “You never fail to amaze me.”

“You look quite dashing yourself,” they turn their nose up, making him laugh.

“Can you hear that?” The melody of ‘All I need’ by temptation, a song (Y/n) has always wanted to dance to, begins to play.

“Of course, I can hear it, Draco. The music is quite loud.”

“I mean, do you want to dance, you nutter?” He shakes his head, his smile never dropping.

(Y/n) nods, their cheeks slightly flush. Grinning, he thanks them and begins to lead them to the centre of the dance floor.

“ 'Arry, is that (Y/n)?” Ron sits up in his seat, nudging his friend in the side, making him hiss; the even Padma and her sister follow his gaze.

“No, that’s Malfoy.” Harry, of course, fails to realise that there is someone else in front of the bowing Draco.

“No, you imbecile, dancing with him.”

This time Harry catches the glimpse of the familiar (h/c) locks as the two take a step back from each other. “That’s not them.”

Ron shakes his head, and like Parvati and her sister, attempts to get a glance behind him. Unfortunately, despite being incredibly skinny, Malfoy remains to have broad shoulders.

The dancing pairs place the palm of their hands a few inches apart as they all begin to turn clockwise, revealing the familiar face of (Y/n).

Harry sits up in his seat, ignoring the audible sigh of awe from the two girls at their appearance, as he watches Malfoy and (Y/n’s) gaze never wavering. Ron’s jaw drops as he watches the two come to a stop before repeating the same actions but anti-clockwise.

Harry’s gaze hardens into a glare as he looks piercingly at the back of Draco, watching the two stop before placing both palms’ inches from their partner’s and turning the other way, again. He was going to kill Draco.

“There, they’ve stopped now,” Ron places his hand on his friend’s shoulder, gripping it for a second before letting it fall.

(Y/n) cannot take their eyes off him, the few seconds they are apart, feel longer as the two gazes in anticipation. Taking a step forward, (Y/n) places their left hand behind his shoulder, the other clasping his own, whilst Draco’s right-hand goes to their waist, making their stomach flutter again.

The two begin to dance, their eyes vulnerable as they try not to smile. Stepping in the traditional box motion, Draco leads them, his breath caught in his throat.

Despite trying not to, the ends of (Y/n’s) lips begin to curl as the couple move together.

Their hands fit together perfectly, and the hand on their back is making (Y/n’s) skin burn.

Nothing could ruin this moment for them.

Harry Potter continues to glare, but this time at his sibling, whose smile instantly falls.

He watches as their steps begin to hurry, replacing Malfoy as the lead as it is now Harry and (Y/n’s) gaze that does not break. The music slows down, and the pairs form a line again, taking a step away from each other. Harry watches them give Malfoy a bashful smile, the boy’s own lips curled but brows furrowed.

A couple, steps in front of (Y/n), Krum and Hermione as they break from the line, but he does not care - although Ron does. When they finally pass, his sibling and Malfoy are long gone.

For the rest of the evening, Harry allows them to have their fun, which (Y/n) is relieved of. They dance with Draco formally, and wildly, the two clearly madly in love as it was not just Harry watching the pair all evening. Fred Weasley had a few things to say about them dancing with Potter, whereas George would have preferred not to confront them, but to inform Harry instead. It is clear Harry is aware as whenever he has a free moment, he is glaring at the spot the pair began dancing.

(Y/n) does not tell Draco why they began to lead, but it is clear it is still on their mind.

(Y/n) wishes he didn’t have to leave, but they both do.

At the end of the evening, Draco leads them outside the hall, and they decline his offer of walking back to the common room. They may be dating but they are not going to give away the location of their common room to someone, not in their house.

Bidding them farewell, with a bow and a kiss on the back of their hand. In his eyes, the night had been perfect.

Although the two have been dating since First year, it has been private since, and quite downlow, with no public affection and only informing their closest friends.

“You cannot date him,” Harry states, coming behind them. “He is bad news, if he could, he’d be a Deatheater.”

*1989*

Once my Mother’s relationship with Damon was revealed, she seemed happier. Damon made an effort to get to know me and he was actually really kind. He treated me as if I was his own Daughter and that made me happy. I still missed the Father I never got to know dearly, but Damon was as close to a Father figure as I was going to get. I really liked him and having him around made everything feel more like home.

Currently my Mother was out shopping and Damon offered to watch me instead of her hiring a babysitter. I was so excited to spend another day with him and he seemed just as happy. We were sitting in the living room together, watching some random show that was on. Neither one of us were that invested in what was going on, but we were still enjoying it.

“Y/N? There’s something I’d like to talk to you about.” Damon suddenly said and I felt my heart skip a beat. This was it. My perfect little world was about to blow up in my face. Damon was about to tell me how he doesn’t love my Mother anymore and he found another girl…

“O-Okay…” I stuttered as I turned to face him. He gave me a kind smile and muted the show.

“It’s nothing to be worried about.” He said and I took a deep breath. He took a second to compose his thoughts and then took a deep breath himself.

“Y/N, as you know me and your Mother have been seeing each other for a long time now.” He started and I nodded, my anxiety still not leaving me completely.

“Well, I love your Mother very much and I love you as well. I think of you as my own Daughter. I wanted to make sure this was alright with you first before I asked your Mother, because I know you’re her whole world and she wouldn’t do anything without making sure you’re okay with it first.” He said and I looked at him confused.

“I want to ask your Mother to marry me, but only if you’re alright with me being part of your family.” He said and I nodded with the biggest smile ever, but then I thought about how my Father left us for another woman and frowned.

“You won’t leave us… right?” I asked and he pulled me onto his lap.

“Y/N, I promise you, I will never leave you or your Mother.” He said and held out his pinky to me. I smiled and wrapped my much smaller one around his. He smiled down at me as we pulled our fingers apart.

“I’d like to make it clear that I am in no way trying to replace your Father. I know how much you care about him and how you wish you got to know him, but I’d hope you can see me as your Father in some way, someday. I would never want to replace him, because he’s part of the reason you’re an amazing girl and part of the reason you’re in the world today.” He said and I smiled even bigger, with tears in my eyes.

“You’re already my Daddy, and I know you’re not replacing my Father.” I said and hugged him tightly. He wrapped his arms around me and held me close to him.

“You have no idea how happy that makes me.” He said and I pulled back with a smile.

“Y/N? Damon? I’m home!” My Mother called. She walked into the room a few moments later and I hopped off the couch, running right up to her. I gave her a huge hug and she laughed. She lifted me up and kissed my cheek.

“Now what was that for?” She asked with a smile.

“Mum! Damon has something to ask you!” I said, excitedly.

“What?” She asked confused as she set me down. I pulled her over to Damon and he chuckled at my reaction.

“This isn’t exactly what I had planned, but I can’t really blame Y/N for being excited.” He said, which only made my Mother more confused.

“What’s going on you two?” She asked. Damon took my Mother’s hand and smiled up at her as he sunk down to one knee.

“Anabella Renaud, I have loved you long before we started dating and I will love you until the day I die. I knew you wouldn’t even think about accepting my proposal until you asked Y/N, which is why I went ahead and got her blessing before I ask. Anabella, will you make me the happiest man in the world and become my wife?” He asked and pulled out a huge ring with a square yellow diamond, surrounded by white diamonds all around it! I gasped as did my Mother.

image

“I-I… Y/N, are you sure you’re alright with this?” She asked, kneeling down to my level.

“Yes! Damon is already like my Daddy, and he pinky promised he wouldn’t leave!” I said, bouncing on my heels. She giggled at me and looked back at Damon.

“In that case, I would love to marry you, Damon.” She said. He placed the ring on her finger and pulled her in for a loving kiss.

“Yay! I’m going to have a Daddy!” I cheered and they both chuckled at me. They pulled me in for a group hug and each kissed the side of my head.

“I have to tell Draco! We’re going to have a wedding!” I said and ran up to my room as they laughed.

*1990*

Damon had moved in not long after he proposed to my Mother. We were finally a family and I was so happy. My Mother was actually excited about the wedding and even let me help plan it! Draco was my date and he would be walking me down the aisle. I had picked out a goldish-yellowish dress, white flats, a blue and white flower crown, and of course the necklace Draco got me for my seventh birthday.

image

I was in the room with my Mother, helping her and her real bride’s maid get her ready. She looked like a real life Princess! Her dress was big and sparkly, her shoes were really nice and expensive, but you couldn’t see them because of how big her dress was. Her makeup was very simple, but she looked amazing! Finally her bouquet was a mix of white and blue flowers, just like my crown!

image

“You look so amazing, Mum!” I gushed and she smiled down at me.

“Thank you my little fawn, you do as well. I’m sure Draco will be amazed when he sees you.” She said and I blushed slightly.

“I hope so.” I said and she smiled.

“Bella, darling?” Grandfather knocked on the door and peeked his head in.

“Grandfather!” I shouted and ran up to him. He smiled and lifted me up, kissing the side of my head.

“Hello my Princess, you look wonderful.” He said and I smiled.

“Not as good as Mum, she looks just like a Princess!” I said and he finally looked her over.

“Oh my sweet girl…” He said and put me down. He walked over to my Mother and gave her a spin.

“You look amazing.” He said and she smiled brightly.

“Thank you, Daddy.” She said.

“You look so happy.” He smiled fondly at her.

“I am.” She replied.

“Well then, let’s get you married… again.” He said and my Mother giggled.

“Y/N, Draco is waiting for you just down the hall.” Grandfather said and I nodded. I walked out of the room and down the hall. Draco had his back turned to me and I ran up, hugging him from behind.

“What the-” He started and turned around as I let go of him.

“Hello, love.” He smiled. I felt my heart flutter slightly at the nickname he had recently started calling me, since he turned ten.

“Hello, Dray.” I said, giving him a little curtsy. He chuckled and gently took my hand. He kissed the back of it and pulled me closer to him. That’s when I noticed his tie.

image

“Did you wear this just to match me?” I giggled as he blushed.

“Mother may have informed me of your dress color, and I may have taken it into consideration.” He said and I giggled again.

“You’re adorable!” I said and kissed his cheek.

“Y/N! Draco! It’s time, get into place!” My Mother’s bridesmaid said. We both quickly got into place and I clung to my small bouquet as my hand rested against Draco’s arm. We soon heard the music start and everyone began walking down the aisle. I smiled as I saw Damon dressed in his all black suit, different to Draco’s, his blue tie that matched the flowers my Mother had chosen, and his matching black shoes.

image

Draco and I went our separate ways, he stood next to Damon and I stood on my Mother’s side. My Grandfather and Mother were walking down the aisle and everyone’s eyes were on them. When my Mother made it to the end my Grandfather kissed her cheek and went to take his seat in the front row. Everything kind of dragged on after that, until my Mother and now Step-Father kissed. Everyone cheered and clapped. I ran up to them and Damon lifted me up, kissing my cheek. They both hugged me tightly and Damon started carrying me back down the aisle.

“Hey! That’s my date!” Draco called as he chased after us. My parents chuckled and placed me down. Draco wrapped his arm around mine and slightly glared at Damon.

“Sorry, Draco. I wouldn’t dare take Y/N away from you.” He said. Draco huffed and nodded. I giggled at my best friend and kissed his cheek.

The party after the wedding was just as perfect as the reception was. Draco and I danced together a lot. We were currently sitting at our table having a drink while we talked when the band tried to gain everyone’s attention.

“Sorry to bother everyone, but the groom ‘ere has requested a special dance with his new daughter!” The lead singer said and my eyes widened. Damon walked up to us and kneeled down on one knee in front of Draco.

“Mind if I borrow your date?” He asked and Draco looked at me. I gave him a smile and he sighed.

“I suppose so…” He said and I giggled. He’s always been insanely protective over me and never liked when someone else gave me attention. He was always worried someone would hurt me, but Damon was now my Father and I knew he wouldn’t hurt me. Damon stood up and offered me his hand. I took it and hopped off my chair. Damon led me to the middle of the dance floor and the music began. He led me as we danced and eventually I ended up standing on his feet. It was an amazing experience that I never expected to have in my life. Damon wasn’t replacing my Father, but he was most definitely my Dad.

Once the dance was finished everyone clapped and Damon led me back to Draco. I took my seat and Damon kneeled down to Draco’s height again.

“Draco, I know you and Y/N are best friends and I just want you to know that I would never hurt her. It’s obvious that you care about you and want to protect her and I appreciate that. I’m glad Y/N has you as her best friend and I want you to know that I will do my best to take care of her as well.” He said and I smiled. Draco stuck his head up slightly, but a small smile was on his lips.

“I will always be Y/N’s number one.” He said and I giggled. Damon chuckled and nodded.

“I know you will.” He said and Draco smirked. Damon held out his hand and Draco looked at it for a moment before shaking it. I smiled as Damon walked off to my Mother and looked back to Draco who was already smiling at me.

“He’s good to me, Draco. He’s like the Dad I always wanted.” I said and his smile grew.

“I’m happy for you, love.” He said and gently held my hand. This was the best day of my life. I finally got a Dad. I finally have a complete family.

I ended up spending the rest of my birthday locked in my room. I couldn’t believe my Father was dead! He should have never left! He should have been right here with me and my Mother! Then I wouldn’t be spending my birthday in my room crying and staring at the only picture I have of him… I spent the next morning locked in my room, refusing to come out. I just wanted my Father…

“Y/N?” My Mother called as she knocked on my door. I didn’t answer, just stared at the picture of my Father.

“Y/N darling?” She asked as she opened my door. I heard her sigh and close the door. Her quiet footsteps made their way to my bed and she gently sat next to me.

“I’m so sorry, Y/N…” She said. I peeled my eyes away from the picture and looked at my Mother who was frowning at me.

“I should have told you sooner, I’m so sorry.” She said.

“It’s not your fault…” I said quietly.

“It is. I was the one who came up with the deal, if I didn’t offer Lily to him he would have been here with us.” She said. I sat up and wrapped my arms around my Mother, hugging her tightly.

“I don’t blame you, Mum.” I said and she held me closely to her.

“I love you so much, Y/N. I should have-”

“I love you too, Mum.” I cut off whatever she was going to blame on herself again. We sat in silence for a bit, just hugging each other. I pulled away first and reached to grab the picture of my Father. I stared down at him with a sad smile.

“Do you still want to go to the party tonight?” She asked and I nodded.

“Are you sure? I’m sure the Malfoys will understand if you don’t.” She said.

“I wanna see Draco.” I said and she smiled.

“Alright, then we better get ready.” She said and I smiled brightly.

My Mother helped me get dressed in a red puffy dress, gold shoes, a birthday crown that my Grandfather got me, and a diamond bracelet that my Mother got me. She smiled down at me and kissed my head. She went to get ready and then we were off to the party!

image

When my Mother and I arrived at the Malfoy’s Manor, Draco’s parents were in the foyer to greet each guest.

“Arabella! Y/N! We’re so happy you made it!” Narcissa said as she hugged and kissed my Mother’s cheek.

“Narcissa, Lucius, thank you so much for doing this.” My Mother said.

“Of course! Y/N is practically like our own daughter.” Lucius said.

“Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy.” I greeted and they each smiled at me.

“Happy birthday, Y/N.” Narcissa said.

“Thank you!” I said.

“Dobby! Go fetch Draco, tell him Y/N has arrived.” Lucius ordered the house elf.

“Yes Master!” The timid elf said and rushed to find the Malfoy heir.

“Draco’s been so excited to see you again, he hasn’t stopped talking about your party since last night.” Narcissa said.

“Y/N’s been very excited to see Draco again.” My Mother said. It wasn’t long until Draco entered the room with a smile on his face.

“Y/N! Happy Birthday!” He excitedly said as he made his way towards me.

“Thank you!” I said as I gave him a huge hug.

“Bella, there’s someone here that I know would love to see you.” Narcissa said with a smirk on her face.

“Oh, well I don’t know, Issa…” My Mother said and looked down at me.

“Draco, why don’t you accompany Y/N during the party?” Narcissa asked her son and he nodded with a smile. He offered me his arm and I gladly took it.

“It’s okay Mum, I’ll be with Draco!” I said happily.

“Are you sure, my little fawn? With everything that happened last night I don’t want to upset you more…” She said, crouching down.

“I’m sure, Mum.” I smiled. My Mother deserved to be happy tonight too.

“Come on, Y/N/N, I wanna show you the decorations!” Draco happily said as he tugged on my arm gently. I giggled and followed him into the ballroom. It was absolutely perfect! There were green and gold decorations littering the ballroom, there were white flowers all around as well. Everything was so perfect I couldn’t keep the smile off my face.

image

“Do you like it?” He asked and I nodded in awe.

“It’s amazing, Draco!” I exclaimed.

“I picked it all out just for you! I knew you would love it!” He said excitedly. I giggled and gave him a big hug.

“I don’t want to pry, but do you mind telling me what happened last night?” He asked and I sighed.

“I had an awful birthday, Draco… My Mother had told me that my Father died just a year after I was born and then she gave me a letter he wrote me. He was explaining how he and my Mother made a deal to have me and then they could be with that Muggle-born girl Lily. He talked about how he wanted to meet me one day and how I have a Brother. I cried so hard and my Mother tried to comfort me, but I was so hurt. She mentioned how my Father wanted me to meet my Brother, Harry, but I don’t want to! He’s literally the reason My Father left us!” I huffed.

“I’m sorry, Y/N/N, finding out your Father was killed by the Dark Lord on your birthday must be the worst.” He said with a frown and I furrowed my brow.

“What?” I asked and he looked at me confused.

“My Father was killed by You-Know-Who?” I asked and his eyes widened.

“Y-You didn’t know?” He asked and I shook my head. Tears began to blur my vision and it felt like my throat was closing up. Draco’s eyes widened further and he grabbed my hand.

“How about we go outside for a bit?” He asked and all I could do was nod. Draco led me out to his back porch and gently sat me in the garden chair. Luckily we were the only two out here so I could have peace. I felt my hands start shaking and my head felt like it was slightly spinning. I grabbed my head as I started hyperventilating. Draco stood in front of me and gently grabbed my hands.

“You need to breath, Y/N. In and out.” He gently said. I shook my head as the tears fell harder.

“C-Can’t…” I whispered.

“Just like this… In… Out…” He said, guiding me through breathing normally again. I tried my best to follow his instructions, but it was so hard. Draco kept gently whispering to me about how I should breath as he gently brushed his thumb on the back of my hands. It took a bit for my tears to finally stop and my breathing to return to normal. I looked up at Draco and he was looking down at me worriedly.

“I’m alright…” I said, quietly.

“I’m really sorry, Y/N/N, I thought you knew.” He said and I took a deep breath. I shook my head and smiled at him.

“Thank you for telling me, Dray.” I said and squeezed his hands.

“Let me make it up to you, come with me!” He said and pulled me along with him. The two of us rushed through the ballroom and over to a large table that held all the gifts for me. Draco looked over them and picked up a small, very expensive looking box.

“Here, this one’s mine!” He said, practically bouncing up and down. I giggled and smiled at the small box that was wrapped in dark green with gold polka dots and a silver bow keeping it all together.

“Draco Lucius, Malfoy! What do you think you’re doing?” Narcissa scolded as she walked up to us, along with my Mother and a man I’ve never seen.

“I-I made Y/N upset because I told her what happened to James Potter and I didn’t know that she didn’t know… I just wanted to make her feel better!” Draco said, nervously looking up at his Mother.

“That wasn’t your information to tell!” Narcissa hissed and Draco bowed his head.

“Don’t be so hard on him, Issa, I should have told her…” My Mother said and I looked up at her with wide eyes.

“You knew?” I asked, feeling tears prick my vision again.

“Oh my little fawn…” She kneeled down and gently grabbed my arm.

“I did know, but I didn’t know how to tell you. How was I supposed to tell you that your Father was murdered by…” She trailed off and I bit my lip.

“What else are you keeping from me?” I whispered and her eyes widened slightly.

“Nothing, Y/N, I promise you. There is nothing else to tell you regarding your Father and your Brother.” She said and I took a deep breath. I held up my pinky and gave her a small smile.

“Promise?” I asked and she smiled. She wrapped her pinky around my smaller one and held it tightly.

“I promise.” She said and pulled me in for a hug.

“Y/N, happy birthday!” The man said, also crouching down to my level.

“T-Thank you.” I smiled, feeling slightly nervous around him.

“Y/N, this is Damon Horn.” My Mother introduced the man.

“Hello.” I smiled and he returned it. He pulled out a red box with a silver bow wrapped around it and held it out to me.

“I got you something. Your Mother told me you’d like it.” He said and I smiled and took the box from him.

“Thank you!” I said.

“Y/N… I thought you were going to open my gift first?” Draco said and I turned to find him frowning at me.

“Draco! Don’t be rude.” Narcissa said. Draco’s frown deepened and his arms fell to his sides, still holding the little box. I frowned slightly and turned back to the man.

“Sorry, sir, Draco and I always open each other’s gifts first.” I said and my Mother smiled. She took the box from my arms and I smiled.

“Go on my little fawn.” She said and I turned to face Draco who had a smug smirk on my face. He handed me the box and I took it with a grateful smile on my face.

“It’s so lovely, Draco.” I said and gently undid the bow then ripped the paper off. I opened it to find a black velvet box. I opened it and inside was a silver necklace with a little black stone in the middle of a sun.

“Draco, this is amazing!” I said taking the necklace out of the box.

“I have the matching one!” He said and pulled out a little silver moon with the same black stone in the middle. I smiled and held up the necklace to him.

“Will you put it on for me?” I asked. He smiled and took the necklace from me and I turned around, moving my hair out of the way for him. He placed the necklace around me and locked it into place. I smiled down at the little pendant and turned back to face Draco.

“It’s enchanted too! When you hold it up to your eye and look into the stone you can see the stars!” He said and I smiled.

“It’s amazing! I love it so much! Thank you!” I said and hugged him tightly.

“You’re welcome, I knew you would love it!” He said and I giggled.

“I do, it’s amazing!” I said. I turned back to my Mother and held up the little sun to show her.

“Isn’t it amazing, Mum?” I asked and she smiled.

“It’s so amazing.” She said and I beamed and looked back down at the sun.

“Why don’t you open Damon’s gift now?” She asked and offered me the box.

“It won’t be as good as mine.” Draco grumbled.

“Draco!” Narcissa scolded.

“It’s alright, Narcissa. He’s probably right.” Damon laughed and Draco narrowed his eyes at him slightly. He came closer and stood next to me. I took the gift from my Mother and gently opened the box. I took the lid off the box and found two stuffed deer inside. I gasped and took them out. One was a stag and the other was a doe, they were my favorite animals of all time. It was one of the few facts I had learned about my Father of the years and I clung to it. They were forever going to be my favorite animals.

“I love them! Draco look!” I said and held them out for him to see. He smiled at me and nodded.

“They’re very cute.” He said and I turned to my Mother.

“Mummy! Look! Look!” I said and she laughed.

“I see them, my little fawn. They’re amazing.” She said and I hugged them closely. My Mother and Damon stood up and he placed his hand on my Mother’s waist.

“Thank you, Mr. Horn!” I said and he smiled down at me.

“You’re welcome, sweetie.” He said and gently pulled my Mother closer to him. I looked at them for a moment and smiled slightly.

“You like my Mother!” I said and her eyes widened.

“Y/N!” She said and I looked at her confused.

“I do like your Mother, quite a lot.” He answered and I smiled.

“Do you like him, Mum?” I asked and she bit her lip.

“Y/N, darling…” She trailed off.

“You do!” I said and held the stuffed deer closer to me.

“Y/N, it’s… complicated…” She said.

“Y/N, your Mother and I have been seeing each other for a little while now and she was worried about how you would feel about this.” Damon said and my Mother’s eyes widened.

“Are you happy, Mummy?” I asked and she looked down at me then back at Damon.

“I am.” She said and I smiled brighter.

“Yay! I’m happy for you Mum.” I said and she smiled down at me.

“Thank you, my little fawn.” She said.

“Draco, why don’t you take Y/N to see your friends?” Narcissa suggested.

“Okay!” Draco said with a smile. I held up the stuffed deer to my Mother, who took them with a smile.

“Come on, Y/N/N!” Draco said and pulled me along with him.

For the rest of the party, Draco and I spent it with our friends. We danced, ate some snacks, drank a few drinks, and played some games. When dinner came we were all together at one table while the adults were at all the other tables. It was all so perfect and soon it was time for cake. The house elves brought out a large three tiered cake. The first layer was green with black and gold paint like stripes around them. The second one was also green, but with nothing on it, and the last layer was plain white. They had white flowers and a white chocolate ring resting on the bottom layer. It was so amazing! They had also brought out green and white rose cupcakes with gold leaves on them. It was all so perfect! They set the cake in front of me and I smiled so wide that my cheeks hurt.

“Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Y/N, happy birthday to you!” Everyone sang and I pulled Draco closer to me.

“One, two, three!” I said and the two of us blew out the candles together. Everyone clapped and some had taken pictures. They took the cake away and returned not long with a large piece that Draco and I shared. Yesterday may have been the worst birthday I had, and today wasn’t as perfect as it could be, but Draco always knew how to make me feel better. He made this birthday party amazing, just like he always did.

*1987*

My Mother was the absolute best Mother in the world, except when it comes to my Father. All I know about him was that he left us before I was born for another woman… My Mother said it was part of a deal they had made, but it still upset me that he would do that to my Mother. I wanted so badly to meet him, but something told me that I never would… It was my 7th birthday today and I was excited since my Mother said she had a surprise for me.

“Y/N! Please come down here!” My Mother called and I smiled.

“Coming!” I called back and rushed down the stairs. I walked into the den and smiled at my Mother.

“Happy birthday, my little fawn.” She said with a large smile. My smile grew at the mention of my nickname. She had always called me her little fawn, said it had something to do with my Father. She would never explain further than that.

“Thank you, Mother.” I said. She motioned me to sit on her lap and I did. She held me close and kissed the top of my head.

“Here, this is a letter from your Father, he wrote it after you were recently born and I wanted to wait until you were old enough to understand…” She said with a sigh. My eyes widened at the mention of my Father and I couldn’t help the smile that crept its way onto my face. I went to reach for the letter, but she pulled it out of my reach.

“I need you to know something before you read this.” She said and I nodded, unable to peel my eyes away from the letter.

“Your Father, James Potter, he died a year after you were born… I didn’t know how to tell you, so I didn’t… I’m so sorry…” She said and I snapped my head to look at her.

“My Dad is… dead?” I asked, feeling tears prick my eyes.

“I’m so sorry, Y/N, but this letter will explain everything.” She said and finally handed me the letter. I hopped off her lap and sat on the floor. I took a deep breath and opened the letter.

To my beautiful daughter,

Y/N I know you’re probably angry with me, since I’m sure your Mother told you of our deal, but know it had nothing to do with you. Your Mother and I were being forced to marry each other and neither of us enjoyed that. Your Mother is actually the one who came up with the deal, but back then I never knew how hard it would be to leave my child… I alway knew it was coming since my heart belonged to Lily, but I never thought about how it would affect you. The day I left your Mother she told me that I couldn’t see you and it broke my heart. I thought about you everyday and when your Mother sent me a picture of you, my heart broke even more. You are so beautiful and perfect and I never get to know who you’ll become. I thought having a child with Lily would help me cope with the fact I’d never see you, but nothing could ever help that feeling. As much as I love Lily and our son, Harry, you are still my daughter and I hope one day we’ll get to meet. I love you so much, and please don’t hate your Mother or me for this. We were simply doing what we had to. Just know that I love you and I always will.

Your Father, James.

I felt tears rolling down my face and I looked up at my Mother who also had a single tear fall from her eye. I dropped the letter and ran into her arms. She held me tightly and rubbed my back as I cried.

“Who’s Lily and why did he leave us for her?” I asked once I was calm enough.

“Lily was a girl we went to school with, James was obsessed with her and his family didn’t like that. She wasn’t a Pure-blood which is why we were married by our parents.” She answered and I scrunched up my nose.

“He left us for a mudblood!” I said, annoyed.

“Y/N! We do not use that word.” My Mother scolded.

“Sorry…” I said, hanging my head. Draco had always told me that’s what we call people that weren’t pure.

“Sometimes I hate you being around those Malfoys…” My Mother sighed.

“But Draco’s my best friend!” I said and she smiled slightly.

“I know my little fawn, I know.” She said.

“Dad had another kid…” I said and my Mother sighed again.

“I know, Harry.” She said and my head shot up.

“You knew!?” I asked with wide eyes.

“Yes, I read the letter when it came and James had sent me a picture of his son. He wanted you to know you have a brother, but I can’t just take you to meet him.” She answered.

“I don’t want to meet him! He might as well be the reason he left! Him and that Lily girl! Dad could have been happier with us and he would have been alive!” I shouted, shocking my Mother. I ran off to my room and cried my eyes out. This is the worst birthday ever!

*3rd Person POV*

“You can’t be serious, Father!” Arabella said, looking at her Father with wide eyes.

“I know you don’t want this, but for the good of this family.” Her Father said with a sigh.

“But why?” She cried out. Her Father sighed once again and shook his head.

“Darling, we must regain the status this family once had and we can’t risk you choosing a partner that is less than perfect.” He said and she groaned.

“Yes I know Father, but I thought this wouldn’t happen until after I graduated, not now!” She said, frantically. Her Father looked at her with apologetic eyes, while her Mother stayed behind him, rolling her eyes at her daughter’s dramatic behavior.

“Can’t we just wait till after I finish with school?” She begged. She hardly ever asked anything of her parents, but this was something she desperately didn’t want to happen, at least not right now. For Salazar’s sake she’s only a child! She still had two years of Hogwarts left! Her Father shook his head and her shoulders slumped.

“The only reason it’s this soon is because the Potter family wish for their son to be married as soon as possible.” He answered.

“I’m sorry, Potter? I’m being married off to James Potter?” She asked in disbelief.

“Yes!” Her Mother snapped at her.

“Is there something wrong with that?” She added with a glare.

“Yes! He’s a bloody Gryffindor! How could you two possibly be alright with me marrying a Gryffindor?” Arabella practically shouted.

“Watch your tone, first off. Second, the Potter boy is just what we need for the public eye to trust our family again.” Her Father said and she sighed.

“Why do I have to pay for the mistakes the two of you made?” She asked.

“Mistake? Mistake! The only mistake here is you! The Dark L-”

“That’s enough!” Conrad shouted, cutting his wife, Starla off.

“We agreed that following He Who Must Not Be Named was a mistake! It put our daughter at risk and we would not continue following down that dark path!” He said and she glared at him.

“Get out, we’ll finish this conversation without you.” He ordered and his wife gladly left the room.

“Bella, I know you don’t wish to marry this boy and you are correct, you are paying for our mistakes, but it’s for the good of this family.” He said. Arabella was silent for a moment before she looked up at her Father with a sigh.

“Does he know he’s marrying me?” She asked.

“If he doesn’t, he will soon. Why?” He asked.

“He’s not exactly a fan of Slytherins. There is no possible way he’ll agree to this.” She said. She conveniently left out the part where he was head over heels in love with Lily Evans.

“I don’t believe he’ll have a choice in the matter.” Her Father said.

“I doubt his parents would force him to do something he didn’t want.” She said

“They are, they believe he’s choosing someone that is… unacceptable for their son.” He said.

“You mean Lily, the Muggle-born Gryffindor he’s absolutely in love with.” She said, causing her Father to sigh.

“Yes, they don’t want him with her because…”

“Because she’s not a Pure-blood.” Arabella finished her Father’s thought.

“Yes, you’re more acceptable for them.” He said and she sighed.

“Right…” She said, rolling her eyes.

“Arabella.” Conrad said, wishing to gain his daughter’s attention. She looked up at him and he gave her a small smile.

“This is much sooner than either of us wanted, but I believe it’s the best option. The Potter boy may hate all Slytherins, but from what I’ve heard, he’s never been rude or mocked you. This is better than I could wish for you, considering all this You Know Who business. I will not call off this betrothal, but I want you to be happy. Preferably with your future husband, James Potter.” He said and she nodded, understanding her Father’s wishes.

“Are you telling me that I may not have to marry him?” She asked, slight hope in her voice.

“I’m saying that we need an heir.” He said and she smiled. She hugged her Father tightly and he hugged her back with a large smile.

“Thank you, Daddy!” She said. He kissed her head as they pulled apart.

“Like I said, I just want you to be happy.” He said.

*Three Months Later*

Arabella had returned to school and was told by her Father to seek out James Potter. Luckily for her, he was alone in his compartment. He looked up at her with wide eyes and a nervous smile as she took a seat.

“I’m sure your parents informed you of our situation.” She said and he nodded.

“And I’m sure, much like me you weren’t happy.” She continued and he once again nodded with a sigh.

“Well, I’d like to make you a deal, Potter.” She said, peeking the boy’s interest.

“What sort of deal?” He asked, warily.

“I don’t want to marry you and you don’t want to marry me… So, you will get me pregnant so my family has an heir and then you’re free to be with that Evans girl you’re so fond of.” She said and his eyes widened.

“But what about our parents?” He asked.

“My Father is actually the one who gave me the idea, he wants to see me happy and no offense, but marrying you will not make me happy.” She said and James chuckled.

“None taken… wait, so you’ll just let me be with Lily as long as you have a child?” He asked and she nodded.

“My Father wants an heir that will change our reputation, having your name will do that.” She said and he thought for a moment.

“We’d still have to get married.” The boy pointed out and she sighed.

“Just until we have a child then you can be with Lily for the rest of your life. Though, I can’t promise that some people won’t find out you left me and I can’t ruin my family reputation anymore by saying I let you.” She said and he nodded, thinking of the pros and cons of her offer.

“You have yourself a deal, Arabella.” He said, holding his hand out with a smile. She returned the smile and gladly shook his hand.

“Then once we’re married we’ll start trying for a child. I must be sure I’m pregnant before you go off with Evans.” She said and he nodded.

“I understand, you’ll get your heir.” He said and she smiled.

“Never thought I’d be happy about having a child this young.” She laughed.

“Yeah, me either.” James joined in.

The two vastly different children may not be friends, but they each understood each other, given the situation they were forced into. Arabella was just lucky her Father was kind to her and that he wouldn’t be angry as long as she got the heir and Potter name she needed. She was sure her Mother would be furious that the Potter boy had left her, but she honestly didn’t care. Her Mother had changed during her time with the Dark Lord and they were lucky enough to escape with their lives. Arabella was a bit skeptical of the fact that the Dark Lord would just let them go, but she was honestly too scared to question it at all. She just wanted her family to be safe and normal again, but that was probably a bit much to ask for.

As soon as the last year of Hogwarts ended Arabella and James Potter were married. James Potter had convinced his parents to wait until after school to marry the two and given that the boy had suddenly become very complacent with his parents wishes, they complied. Before the ink could even dry on their marriage certificate, Arabella and James were trying for a baby. It took them a bit longer than either of them had liked to conceive, but it untimely happened after a year. The two were relieved when they got the news, they honestly couldn’t stand being together anymore. They weren’t fighting or angry with each other, but James was upset that he wasn’t able to be with his true love and Arabella was upset she couldn’t even look for hers. They waited a bit after Arabella had confirmed the pregnancy before they quietly got a divorce. James had quickly packed all his things and said goodbye to his now ex-wife. He hugged her tightly and even gave her a kiss on her forehead, surprising the girl.

“Thank you, Arabella.” He whispered before he pulled away.

“I believe I should be thanking you.” She said as she placed a hand gently on her small bump. James chuckled and placed his hand over hers.

“I hate to leave you alone with a child, but-”

“Don’t.” She cut him off.

“This is what we agreed on. I’ll be fine on my own with our child, just go be with Evans.” She said and he smiled a bit more at the mention of Lily’s name.

“Will you have the baby keep my name?” He asked and she thought for a moment.

“I believe I have to, that way my family name won’t be left in the mud.” She said and he sighed.

“Right, well at least tell her about me?” He asked and she sighed, shaking her head.

“I don’t want to get her hopes up on meeting you, James. Our story is that you left me for Evans.” She said and James frowned.

“You’re telling me that I won’t ever see my child?” He asked, shocked.

“How did you think this was going to go? That I would just bring our child over whenever you wanted? Or that you would come back here to see him or her?” She asked and James shrugged.

“I-I don’t know, but I didn’t think I’d never be able to see them! I mean, it is my child.” He said and she sighed.

“James, our story won’t be believable if you see them. They’ll know you exist, obviously, but-”

“Tell them about our deal, that way they won’t hate me.” He begged. She gave him a small smile and nodded.

“Fine, but you still won’t be able to see them.” She said and he nodded, sadly.

“Then, this is goodbye, Arabella.” He said and she smiled.

“Goodbye, James. Have a good life with Lily.” She said and hugged him one last time. James took a deep breath and left behind the woman he came to love, not in a romantic sense, but still loved, and his unborn child…

*March 23rd, 1980*

Arabella heard the cries of her newly born baby as she panted in the hospital bed. She was tired from pushing the small child out of her and the potions the doctors had given her were making her even more so.

“Miss Potter, it’s a girl.” The doctor said as he handed her baby to her. The woman smiled down at her new bundle of joy and bit her lip. She had James’ eyes and nose… It hurt her heart knowing that this baby would never know her Father, but she was determined to give this girl an amazing life.

“What would you like to name her?” A nurse asked, holding the birth certificate.

“Y/N. Y/N Potter.” Arabella answered with a smile. The name fit the girl perfectly. Y/N, after her Grandmother. Arabella kissed the small girl’s head and held her close. Y/N Potter was now her reason to live. Y/N Potter was the reason Arabella’s younger brother could freely marry whoever he chose. Y/N Potter was the savior of the Renaud family.

Draco’s feeling towards you started to morph from hatred and disgust to curiosity. You were almost too cryptic for his liking… it was too Slytherin for a Gryffindor.

So, he started to watch you a bit closer, learning your schedule and what you did or didn’t do. Most of the time he was left alone because you were in the Gryffindor Tower. He only assumed that it was the location that you studied in because you were never in the library other than to check out books.

Each day he found out nothing more than circling answers and more questions. It frustrated him He was the best at everything except knowing how you worked. Potter was easy, Hermione and Ron even more so, but you were a force to be reckoned with and he hated it.

The war was a massive devastation for the Wizarding world.

Y/N was still grieving the loss of her best friend three years prior. Her school, her home had turned into a place she didn’t even recognize. A prison.

Just as quickly as Hogwarts had changed, she had watched family and friends die within its walls, protecting the students within.

Every single night in her dorm before the Battle of Hogwarts, Y/N would listen to the radio in search of any names listed off that she knew.

Although she claimed she was listening for loved ones, she was really listening for one particular name. Malfoy.

Y/N knew that there was no possible way the Malfoys would be put on the casualties list that grows every day, but she still listened with quiet breathing and a rapid heartbeat to hear the name of the boy she still loved.

From what she could remember, the battle was a blur. A blip in time. Faces that she knew, lifeless on the ground around her. Faces she has grown up with for almost the past decade.

Y/N couldn’t count how many people she loved and held dearly that she had seen dead. Fred Weasley, leaving his other half George. Nymphadora Tonks, a beloved Hufflepuff alumni, and Remus Lupin, Harry Potter’s last standing familial figure and spouse to Tonks. Lavender Brown, the Gryffindor that Y/N had grown quite close to while Hogwarts was under the direction of multiple death eaters. Colin Creevey, the young muggle-born Gryffindor who stood incredibly brave, and another close friend of Y/N’s.

~•.*✰

While attempting to save another young student, Y/N was hit with the Cruciatus Curse, and was severely attacked by multiple Death-Eaters. She could barely feel the pain, when her eyes focused on a head full of white hair that was speeding to wear she lay in a puddle of her own blood in the Forbidden Forest.

“How did you get out here? Why are you out here, Y/N?” Draco’s voice was deeper, aged, yet frantic and shaking. “Oh Merlin, you’re bleeding so much. We need to get you to the Great Hall.”

“Draco?” Y/N’s quiet voice asked. “What are you doing here?” Her voice was trembling, tears threatening to spill down her cheeks. She touched his face, leaving a bloody handprint behind. She tried to convince herself that he really was here, that he really was trying to get her help, and he wasn’t just a hallucination from the blood loss.

“Close your eyes.” Draco instructed.

A moment passed, and Y/N felt her stomach drop as if she were on a fast roller coaster.

“I need help! Help!” She soon heard Draco screaming, his voice cracking with every syllable. Bustling voices around her had forced her to open her eyes, and she soon realized he had apparated both of them into the Great Hall. Molly Weasley, a dear friend of Y/N’s mother, rushed over as two students behind her carried a cot.

They transferred her onto the cot, working as quickly as they could to heal the wounds without any more blood loss. Y/N was walking the thin line of unconsciousness, but refused to let herself pass out while Draco was still near her.

She knew he worried too much. The creases permanently etched into his forehead told her enough.

With the remaining strength Y/N had, she reached towards him to grab his hand. His eyes snapped down to her the second she made contact with his hand, and he clasped it in both and immediately started planting tear-filled kisses along every inch of her exposed skin.

“You’re gonna be alright. Everything is going to be fine. Please, stay awake. Stay awake for me, Y/N/N. Please.”

“Wow, so Dad was a softie!” Y/N’s and Draco’s eldest daughter, Lyra, exclaimed.

“Yes, he really was.” Y/N smiled warmly, laying her hand atop Draco’s as they sat on the couch.

“So, that’s how you got that scar? It’s cool!” Scorpius piped in, pointing to Y/N’s stomach, where a prominent white scar lead up to her shoulder, meeting the three scars on her back from her fourth year.

“Mom, you have had some crazy accidents. How did Dad never have heart attacks?” Cassi asked, leaning forward in complete and utter amusement.

“Oh, I can promise you, Dad did have heart attacks. I enjoy keeping him on his toes.” Y/N winked, leaning back into Draco, who had an arm over her shoulder.

“Can you tell us about the tournament again, Mom? Please?” Scorpius begged, pouting.

“I think it’s about time for you three to go to bed, hm? Mom’s had enough revisiting her very, very dangerous experiences throughout her years at school. Let’s get you all to bed, shall we? Big day tomorrow.” Draco piped in, pushing himself off the couch and helping his children stand from the carpet.

“I’m nervous for tomorrow! First day of fourth year. I wonder if mine will be as adventurous as Moms.” Lyra said, walking slowly to her room.

“And first day of third for me. I hope I get to meet a Hippogriff like you did your third year, Dad.” Scorpius followed his sister through the hallway to their bedrooms.

“And first day of Hogwarts for our darling little Cassiopeia, isn’t that right?” Y/N appeared behind them, scooping her youngest up and planting kisses everywhere on her face. Cassi squealed, giggling loudly as Y/N continued walking to their separate rooms.

“Goodnight, my darling lovebugs.” Y/N said, blowing kisses through each of the open doorways to her children.

“Goodnight, my favorite troublemakers. Get some sleep, or I’ll have the boggarts come scare you!” Draco laughed mischievously, just before getting whacked lightly upside the head by his wife. She quietly scolded him, and he put his hands up in mock surrender.

“Goodnight! Love you the mostest.” Cassi peeped up, flicking her tiny wrist to turn off her lamp.

“Goodnight, Mom. Goodnight, Dad. Thank you for telling us the story again.” Scorpius yawned, turning on his side and doing just as his sister had done to turn off his lamp.

“Thank you, for reminding us again how cool our parents are. Love you guys.” Lyra said, snapping lightly to turn out her lamp. She always was a bit more advanced than her brother and sister.

Y/N quietly closed all three doors, before heading to her and Draco’s room to finally get some sleep. It wasn’t long before they were both dozing off, Y/N in Draco’s arms.

“Goodnight, my love.” Draco whispered, planting a kiss into Y/N’s hair.

“Goodnight, Dray. I love you.” She whispered back, her eyes closing and letting sleep finally take over.

Even though she struggled to get the happy ending she wanted after fourth year, she could now proudly say she was a part of a loving family with the boy she had loved since she was 14. She was has happy, healthy, and healed as she could be.

And that was her perfect happy ending.
