Day 7: some more glass. I like glassware a lot.

My hand cramped up trying to do that lettering, but that’s okay. Looking forward to spending some time on the iPad this weekend. I have a few time consuming things in mind to draw.

Reflecting on this post, I bought myself a teeny sketchbook so I could start drawing something daily that’s not related to jobby-job. I hope to do at least one page a day in it, no pressure.

William and I got covid a little over a month ago and still kind of gross from it. It really sucked, even with the vaccine. Didn’t feel like death, but the recovery is slow and I’m grateful that we both have remote jobs. Still really recommend vaccination tho!

Anyway, this is the first thing I felt like drawing since I got sick. The frenchie sketches I posted earlier were for this illo. This is glorious Marty, who looks around for baby socks to eat like it’s his job.

Still not great at drawing animals’ heads and faces, but I won’t get any better if I don’t try. I feel pretty good about the paws.

Another attempt at whatever I was going for in this illustration. I don’t think it worked out quite

Another attempt at whatever I was going for in this illustration. I don’t think it worked out quite right either, but whatever. It got too busy with how things overlapped in the face. I got a little stuck there.

Just will have to play with the ghost hands more as a visual thing.

This weekend, I was rearranging some stuff in my storage unit from moving last week had to move this old thing from uni to get to something else.

Please meet Our Lady of Perpetual Volatility and it was a concept painting for series of paintings of fake Catholic saints that were basically crust punks. For example, I remember there was a patron saint of dumpster diving. I didn’t do the series at the end because just building this one canvas stretcher was so time consuming because I did it the right way by creating the curve by gluing one strip of wood at a time to build a laminate. And doing oil paintings that are entirely created by glazing is even more time consuming.

Anyway, it feels really cringey to see old art, but sometimes you just have to have a good laugh about it and enjoy where the journey has gone since then.

This was supposed to be about burnout/exhaustion, but I made the facial expression look too relaxed.

Can u feel the anxiety?

Hello, subjecting ppl to another boosted post.

This one is a test in comparison to the illustration I boosted a week or so ago and then I’m done boosting.

Okay I think I’m getting really really really close to where I want on my quest to digitally replicate how I do stone lithography.

As for the image: it’s not from inside my head, it’s like 90% based off a photo from a friend’s trip to Ireland.
