On this day in 1961 Graham James MacTavish was born. He portrayed the character of Dwalin in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy. He was one of the Dwarves that traveled with Bilbo, Gandalf and Thorin on the quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from Smaug. Happy birthday!

(my edit, first part)
I saw the light fade from the sky
On the wind I heard a sigh
As the snowflakes cover my fallen brothers
I will say this last goodbye
Night is now falling
So ends this day
The road is now calling
And I must away
Over hill and under trees
Through lands where never light has shone
By silver streams that run down to the Sea.
