About this blog

A space that captures the thoughts, struggles, highs and lows from Black girls. I want this to be a safe space where Black girls can feel supported, heard, and have a sounding board to say what’s on their mind. A safe space where we can feel liberated.

I also want to make it interactive so I’ll eventually ask for y’all to submit thoughts, celebrations, milestones, fears, etc. and I’ll post them to this account and Instagram (will post anonymously).

While the blog and IG will have Black women at the top of mind, allies, you are more than welcome to follow! Allies are an integral part of getting underrepresented groups heard and I appreciate y’all for the work you do! I’m sure there will be some content that allies can relate to, however, that is not the main point which is to give Black girls a safe space to share and be heard.

There will definitely be content that I’m sure everyone can learn from which is most important.

There is a very clear description in my pinned post and as my bio going over the purpose of this blog and WHY I’m emphasizing Black girls. When referencing Black girls, I’m talking all Black girls, so Black Trans Women as well. Just because I emphasize Black girls does not mean that these post do not apply to non-Black women.
As many of us know, have experienced, and have seen through the media, misogynoir is very real. The the lack of empathy and weight that’s put on Black girls, and the double standard is detrimental to our health. If we look at the difference in how Black girls are treated and cared for in society as a whole (as well as your discomfort around a post trying to uplift us), then you already know this. Please do not “all lives matter” my posts because I am in no way saying that this doesn’t apply to others.
Please do not “all lives matter” my posts or anything along those lines. I said Black girls, but that doesn’t mean this means “only" Black girls. Also, if you’re uncomfortable with my emphasis on Black girls and trying to uplift us, please ask yourself why and please do not follow me.
This blog is growing fast and I thank you all so much for your support.
Thank you!
