A Sudanese fisherman reels in his net at dusk as Khartoum’s modern glass towers stand in the background. This image is an interesting juxtaposition of ancient and modern. Riverboat fishing along the Nile is an age old trade done in the same fashion as a fisherman would living in Ancient Nubia 3000 years ago. The GNPOC tower, built in 2010, is a sleek contemporary skyscraper operated for production and exploration of the region’s oil reserves.
