froma doctor to thedoctor, here’s my concepts for a fourteenth doctor as played by alexander siddig! i’m sure the chances of him being cast are slim, but i figured i put this out into the universe before we actually get an announcement
I don’t know what his TARDIS looks like. I don’t know what his catch phrase is or what he’s going to wear. I don’t know who his Companion(s) will be. I don’t know what his accent will be or how/if he’ll react to being Black…on Earth…today. I don’t know if he’ll remember Martha. (I wonder if he’ll ever meet her…or Rose…or Donna…or Amy…or Clara…)
(ADDENDUM:Of course he’ll remember Martha. He’ll remember all of the Companions and their partners—especially dear Rory.)
I don’t know anything about him…but, gahtdammit, I already love him. I mean…Look At Him! He looks so damn cool. He looks like he Knows Shit. (Some of it sublime, some of it heartbreaking.)
I can’t wait for the first time he knows who he is, and says “I’m The Doctor.”
They say “You never forget your first Doctor.”
There are kids from all backgrounds around the world who are gonna fall in love with their first Doctor, and I’m glad it’s this guy: and his name is Ncuti Gatwa. (nSOOtee GAHtwa).
And he’s a Scottish - Rawandan - Brit…Gallifreyan.
LET ME BE CLEAR THOUGH if they use something like this they have to somehow make it like 50% less cool. I’m talking 10 with his stupid little convers or 12 with his sunglasses or 7 with his question marks or 3 with that cape. PLEASE.

also let us witness the outfit our lad chose for the BAFTAs on the day the news was meant to go public because I’m very amused in light of the Doctor’s in character “let me roll up my sleeves and reveal the few inches of skin between my wrist and elbow OH MY” Victorian tendencies in most (But of course not all; there are always exceptions) incarnations

Да, я помню, что я ныл, мол, кто угодно, только не черный мужик или черная баба (исключительно из-за того, что подобной галочкой в графе обычно пытаются затыкать все дыры), но раз уж Доктор выбран, надо искать только положительные стороны. По крайней мере, поначалу, когда реальной информации и реальных минусов еще никаких не представлено. Во-первых, новый Доктор молодой и симпатичный. Уже плюс. Во-вторых, его выбрал сам РТД. В-третьих… в-третьих, пока ничего не могу сказать, так как я с этим актером не знаком вообще. Знаю, что он играет в популярном сериале Sex Education и, судя по отзывам, довольно-таки неплох. Может, я заценю этот сериал сам, ведь ждать до осени 2023 года будет просто невыносимо (хотя обычно я сериалы на подобную тематику не смотрю). Очень хочется посмотреть на нового Доктора в движении, в его “докторовости” или хотя бы взглянуть на его будущий костюм. В общем, пока я расположен к нему положительно - впрочем, я радовался и объявлению Капальди с Уиттакер, а что в итоге? В общем, в основном надо надеяться, конечно, на самого РТД - ведь именно от него зависит, каким будет новый Доктор и вернет ли он ощущение волшебной докторовости в сериал.
The BAFTAs were held yesterday and the big upset (to me) was that Russell T. Davies’ IT’S A SIN only won two of its eleven nominations: one in editing and one in direction. It garnered null wins in their five acting categories, best mini-series or the fan favourite category.

This role for Comer and her costar Stephen Graham was an example of sheer actor audacity as, unbeknownst to each other, they both reached out to writer Jack Thorne (HIS DARK MATERIALS). Comer slid into his Twitter DMs to say she wanted to work with him and Graham (who had worked with Thorne on THIS IS ENGLAND and THE VIRTUES), saw Thorne at a party and asked him to write a role for he and Comer - who years earlier - he (Graham) introduced to his agent who quickly took her on.

Single Drama Death Of England: Face To Face Help I Am Victoria
Together WINNER **Utterly, utterly floored that this won over HELP. Both films deal with the pandemic/lockdown, but TOGETHER is a kitchen sink drama with a gimmick in that the characters constantly break the fourth wall monologuing. HELP is so much richer character study as well as a searing look at the ineptitude of government in assisting care workers in the early months of the pandemic.
International Call My Agent! Lupin Mare Of Easttown Squid Game Succession The Underground Railroad **WINNER
Mini-Series It’s A Sin Landscapers Stephen Time WINNER **I loved TIME, another heavy-hitter this about prison life, but versus IT’S A SIN - no competition. The only think I can reason why TIME won out is because, overall, the acting on IAS was almost always panned. So if you’re thinking overall greatness of a series, acting is a factor. But, whatever, I adored IAS. It was transformative, staggeringly brilliant and gutting and heartbreaking and heartfelt.
The denizens of the Pink Palace are winners in my eyes.
