“It’s nothing personal.” Something we hear often after being yelled at for something entirely out of our control. I’ve been seeing some news about physician abuse. Whether verbal or emotional or physical, it happens. And it sucks. But here’s the thing. A lot of times there are laws to protect healthcare workers from abusive patients. But what happens when the abuse comes from fellow colleagues? Senior doctors who feel entitled to demean anyone with a lesser job title? What laws protect us as students from being made to feel inadequate every time we don’t know the right answer? Why are we promoting this idea that scolding/yelling/being mean is the way to make sure we learn? We are promoting a whole different type of abuse and making it seem like it’s okay because hey, it’s nothing personal right? I hope we can find it in us to be kind to everyone around us this week..
7-22-17 Old spread. That’s my fave star wars character, c3po! Sheldon cooper reminds me of him though I’m currently halfway with my anatomy and physiology review. Next week i’ll be starting with oral anatomy and histology. Yaaasss! Have an awesome day everyone. Study hard *
7-17-17 My current desk situation. Yes it’s messy! I’m reviewing gen ana and physiology, it may come in handy for gen path or pharma. P.s 3 weeks to go until i start dent 2 proper. I’m getting stressed already
6-23-17 OINA for life! This is how i study OINA for head and neck muscles. I know it’s quite tedious but i’m a visual learner, memorizing it using tables is really not my thing. I just make tables for another summary, for example, a table showing the muscles that depresses the larynx, muscles innervated by ansa cervicalis and so on.
Throwback to my practical exams in oral anatomy, where we need to identify the the tooth specimen and name it in palmer/fdi/universal system, identify its age of eruption, and the name of the specific part pointed! All of these in just a minute or less!
18-08-18 Good morning everyone! So happy to announce that i survived my first two weeks at uni. Yey! Being a fourth year pre-med student is quite bombarding. I’ve still got a lot of things to do but i just like to share my notes with you guys. Here are my notes in Human Anatomy&Physiology! there are tons of body parts to memorise but i’m actually having fun studying this subject! I’m looking forward to post more contents, thanks for hanging around with me. You guys are amazing! ✨
In my theoretical case of the week apparently I’m the doctor treating a pediatric sickle cell patient. Coincidence? I think not #itsasign #futuredoctor #pediatrics #medicine #DrMcIntosh
