These creatures have been lurking around for years. Creeping closer and closer. I never managed to get a hold of them. Until now…. they definitely aren’t very friendly however slowly but surely I’m getting to feel more comfortable around them.

This time I decided to use a different technique that I really like but don’t use very often. Actually I was searching for a way to use a « grisaille » under the colored pencils for my new project. As I was experimenting this illustration just arised and I had to draw it! I really enjoyed working on light, shadows, textures and details. I hope you will like it even if this is not my usual technique.

One of my favorites from a few years ago. Originally created for a group show under the theme of combining tarot cards and sci-fi stories. For this one I chose Philip K. Dick’s “Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said” and the World card in the reverse position. The composition sort of reflects the design of the traditional the World card, with the main character appearing in a falling position to symbolize the story
