Why are there fences around graveyards?
Because people are dying to get in!
Rather Be Dead” shirt design for Necrot. This one proofed to be quite the challenge, mainly because of the subject matter. Coming up with an original take on a reaper figure is tough. So I turned the reaper into a sower, initially portraying him as a hunchbacked, falling apart, heavily leaning on his scythe figure. The band requested a more triumphant stance, so I adjusted it to their taste.
To emphasize the theme & to solve the composition puzzle, I placed the scene into a tombstone shaped form & have the reaper’s hand literally crossing the other- (outer-)side.
Necrot will have this available on their upcoming tour.

At CrossBones Graveyard, the unconsecrated mass burial ground for sex workers, the poor, and those who took their own lives is now marked by a beautiful garden and lovingly tended to by caretakers who see it as a sacred space. There are also clergy who do regular services of remembrance, regret, and reconciliation to apologize for the wrongs of the church and to honor the dead. There are no headstones here but there are flowers and bees and healing herbs and pilgrims who come from all over to pay their respects to the outcast dead of London.
