man I really loved tonights episode

that scene where Jaime kills Cersei in the throne room with his Ned’s Valyrian steel, claiming justice on behalf of the Starks and fulfilling Maggy the Frog’s prophecy? or when Cersei stabbed him with a knife and he staggered forward and collapsed on the Iron Throne, mirroring when he killed the Mad King? i especially loved when Daenerys walks in and sees his corpse sitting there and understands what he did.

and the part where Sandor cuts of the Mountain’s head and leaves his body burning? talk about symbolism! i’m especially glad that they didn’t kill Sandor off unnecessarily. i also really liked how he lost his eye in the fight and used the strip of cloth to bind it and how it made him look just like Beric.

that part where Grey Worm stopped the Northmen from killing the unarmed Lannister soldiers was really cool too. you could see how conflicted he was about it, but he knew he couldn’t lose himself to hate. i knew he wouldn’t betray Missandei’s memory.

i was certainly concerned about Daenerys throughout the episode, but she really came through in the end. when she realized that Cersei had hidden casks of wildfire around the city and knew that she couldn’t risk the lives of the civilians with her dragonfire. and how she instead flew straight to the Red Keep to take the fight directly to Cersei? really really good.

when Arya saw Gendry across the battlefield and tried to maker it to him but was being held back by the crowds? that was incredible. and how he could hear her scream his name over the noise of the battle and ran towards her voice even when he couldn’t see her? i can’t wait to see them reunite in the next episode.

I read this damn post back when GOT was ending and thought all was well, since I hadn’t been able to finish the show just yet.

The Entire GOT Fan Base

Dissecting exactly why season 8’s writing was a piece of trash: including plot holes, excess of misleading dialogue, the demolishing of story arcs, and the wreckage of 7 seasons worth of character development!

honestly grey worm? my hero

Grey Worm

I really like Grey Worm. His choice to keep the name he had received on the day he was set free moves me a lot. Like, what an incredible tactic the Masters had designed to dehumanize the Unsullied, right? Removed of identity to the point that even their name is an inconsistent thing (but always an insult, I suppose). But then they are freed - allowed for the first time in years to be human. He keeps the name he’d drawn that day, as it belonged to a free man…. aghhh, hits me straight in the heart every time I think about it!!!

But y'all are here for the portrait, not to be flooded by my feels ;P Grey Worm is described as stocky, square, serious, and tireless. Due to the practice of castrating boys in training as Unsullied, he grows no facial hair.

archivistofnerddom:

Give us the ten year flash forward where:

Jon is happy beyond the Wall, where the Night’s Watch handles diplomacy between the Wildlings, the North, and Westeros.

Arya is a renowned adventure-having badass who has expanded what they know of the West. Occasionally, a Faceless Man shows up to check in on her (and no one dies).

Bran has stabilized the Six Kingdoms and is casually looking for the next Three-Eyed Raven/King of Westeros.

Brienne continues to be happy.

Davos gets regular vacations.

Naarth stays safe because of Grey Worm and the Unsullied.

Tyrion is allowed to step down as the Hand of the King after he’s helped choose a worthy successor into whose capable hands the Six Kingdoms can be left.

The North is thriving under the watchful eye of Sansa Stark.

The issue of succession for House Stark is raised. Sansa just smiles and lets her advisors know that that will be resolved when the Ambassador of the Six Kingdoms to the North arrives. Tyrion shows up and they finally get to have a good, solid, supportive marriage.

And, somewhere in the East, Drogon waits as a Red Priestess chants over a body. Then, as the flash forward ends, Daenerys Targaryen is revived with blood red eyes, signifying that she is the Fire equivalent of the Night King.
