We were beautiful. - Markhyuck

{ author’s note - its like 3.30 am and i should be sleeping but i couldn’t get this out of my head so here it is ! sorry for any mistake lmao i haven’t proofread it! }

It started slow. So slow that neither of them understood when it happened.

At first it was missed calls, delayed texts. And then came the frequent fights, the nights spend sleeping away from each other because they couldn’t stand being in each others presence. The painful, steady estrangement from what they once called home. Warm gazes and longing hands turned into this strange, unsettling feeling that destroyed everything they’d built together. The same kitchen where they used to dance in at 3am even though, they both should be sleeping yet they couldn’t get enough of each other, looked cold and void of every sign that love lived in it. The bedroom where they used to spend their nights, bodies and hearts tangled, laughing about anything and everything, sharing secrets and stories in between kisses, now looked quiet, everything neatly cleaned as if no one ever lived there. The house they used to long for in the middle of the day, when work got too much and the day too hectic, only because they knew that everything they’d be okay the minute they saw each other, had now turned into their worst nightmare.

Donghyuck was orange whereas Mark was pink. Their relationship was beautiful like the sunset, when it takes over the sky and creates this wonderful mix of these two colours, saying goodbye to the sun in the most beautiful way. But sunsets have to end when the orange and pink hues inevitably give space to the black of the night, until they completely disappear and all there’s left is darkness, and so did they.

[3.05 pm] Sitting on some random seat, close enough to be able to see Donghyuck MCing for this year’s ISAC, you couldn’t help but smile lovingly at the sight of your nervous boyfriend looking at the crowd in search of you and sighing when he finds you, sending you a small -and unnoticeable- wink.

Strawberries and cigarretes || Lee Donghyuck

A/N: photos are not mine, non idol!au inspired by a troye sivan song, probably kinda bad cuz i was in a rush but i couldnt get this idea out of my mind all day so here it is enjoy xx

Remember when we first met?

You said, “Light my cigarette”

So I lied to my mum and dad I jumped the fence and I ran

But we couldn’t go very far

Cause you locked your keys in your car

So you sat and stared at my lips

And I could already feel your kiss

You met Donghyuck, or Haechan as he preferred to be called, on a Tuesday morning in school. You knew ofhim and ofthe things he did and sometimes you talked to him in class, but you didn’t really know who he really was. You didn’t really have to know much about him to understand the kid was trouble, from his black leather jacket to the million broken hearts he was responsible for breaking, you were pretty sure you didn’t want to associate yourself with him. In fact, you didn’t really want to associate yourself with anyone. You were a pretty closed up person and you found making friends pretty difficult so for the most part you found yourself hanging out by yourself at the back of the school. So that’s where you were on that Tuesday morning, waiting for the lunch hour to pass while looking at the peaceful, blue sky when you heard footsteps from behind you and and someone plopping down next to you. No one really hung around the back of the school so you got startled at the sudden arrival and you turned to see who the person was, when you saw Haechan sheepishly grinning at you while mumbling “Sorry, I just needed a breather I hope that’s okay with you.”

You nodded quickly, too intimidated to actually say anything and faced the front again. None of you actually tried to break the silence that existed between you, both of you too consumed in your own thoughts and busy enjoying the peaceful environment. That was until Haechan spoke up, nudging you softly with his elbow making you turn and look at him once again.

“Hey Y/N, can you maybe light my cigarette?” He asked softly, taking you by surprise both at the request and at the sudden realization that Haechan was breathtaking. You of course, knew that Haechan was one of the most handsome guys in school, the number of girls swooning over him being the receipt, but you never had the chance to admire his face from up close. And with the way the light fell on his face, you could finally understand why he had all those girls following him all those school years. “Take a picture, it’ll last longer.” He said chuckling.

“What? Oh right, sorry. U-um I don’t actually smoke so…” You trailed off, looking at him apologetically, “You know, you should stop smoking though, it’s bad for your health and totally gross.” You said, furrowing your brows and snatching the cigarette Haechan had just placed between his lips, away from him.

“Oh? And who are you to tell me what to do?” He said, smirking, one of his eyebrows raised like he was questioning you. You scoffed and turned away from him again, blushing before mumbling, “I’m just stating facts.” You could hear him chuckling from beside you before he suddenly said, “This place sucks want to get out of here?”

“You mean as in skip school?” You asked shocked. “No way, first of all my parents will kill me and second of all I barely know you, why would I want to skip school with you?” You raised your eyebrow while crossing your hands over your chest. “For all I know, you could be a killer.”

“Oh c'mon Y/N. We’ve known each other since elementary, I’m pretty sure you’d known if I was a serial killer. Plus you’re a teenager dude, live your life a little.”

“Correction, I really don’t know who you are besides all the rumors who may or may not be true and I won’t be able to live my life if my parents find out and murder me.” You saw Haechan falter a bit at your words, like what you said hurt him a little, before regaining his posture and playfully pouting at you, “C'mon pleaaase. I promise they won’t find out a thing.” He said and you don’t know what came over you but you muttered a soft “fine” and that’s how you found yourself jumping over the school fence with Haechan on a Tuesday morning and run the streets until you both got out of breath, so you stopped and opted for sitting at a nearby park.

“Sorry, I locked my keys in my car so I walked today.” He muttered apologetically, while walking next to you.

“Don’t worry, it’s okay, I walk to school everyday so it’s not a big deal.” You shrugged and turned around to take a look at his face, only to realize that he was already staring at you with a look in his eyes you couldn’t really understand. You blushed at the sudden proximity, before you started running and shouted “Hey whoever reaches the benches last, buys the other one ice cream.” Haechan laughed and quickly followed you, purposely losing and buying you ice cream, before you both sat down and started talking like you were friends forever. So that’s how, you spend your Tuesday in the park, having the best time you’ve had in a while, getting to know aspects of Haechan you didn’t know existed. And when your parents asked you later in the evening how school was, you looked them in the eyes and smiled, lying to them by saying it went great.

Long nights, daydreams

Sugar and smoke rings, I’ve been a fool

But strawberries and cigarettes always taste like you

Headlights on me

Racing to 60, I’ve been a fool

But strawberries and cigarettes always taste like

Blue eyes, black jeans

Lighters and candy, I’ve been a fool

But strawberries and cigarettes always taste like you

After that day, you two found yourselves reaching for the other’s company more often each day. Haechan felt like he could be his real self with you and he really enjoyed hanging out with someone who he knew wouldn’t judge him based on what the others said. You also found yourself enjoying his company, the once assumptions you had of him, thrown out of the window from the first day you started hanging out with him and you were really thankful that someone actually took time out of their day to hang out with you. At first, your friendship was restricted at the back yard of the school, were you both sat next to each other, many times not really talking yet enjoying the endearing silence, while other times none of you could stop talking. After a few months though, Haechan found himself calling you at any time of the day, just to hang out with you, whether that was stopping by your house, or taking you out for night drives. The later normally happened when he had a lot in his mind and he just wanted to see you. And soon, that became a part of your day. He became a part of your day. He would pick you up to go to school and drive you back because he didn’t want you to walk on your own and after a few hours he would probably call you up to go on a night adventure. On a cold winter night, while you were sleeping you suddenly heard your phone go off. Alarmed at the sudden noise, you shot up and reached for you phone picking it up, not bothering to look at the caller’s ID, already knowing who it was.

“Hyuck?” You said, calling him by a nickname only you were allowed to call him, “Are you okay? It’s like 3 am.” You said, a yawn escaping your lips.

It was silent for a while before he answered. You could hear his ragged breath through the phone, making your eyebrows furrow and your heartbeat increase. “Can we please go for a drive?” You heard a whisper, making your heart break a little. He wasn’t okay.

“I’ll be down in 5.” You said, “Arrive safely yeah?” You heard a small yes and then he hung up.

You sighed and plopped down into your mattress again. To say Donghyuck had now a firm place in your heart now, would be an understatement. You loved him and not only in a friendly way. Somewhere along the laughs, the hugs, his jokes and his stories you had developed a stupid crush on him and your heart broke at the realization he would never love you the same you loved him. However, you promised yourself you wouldn’t tell him anything, too afraid of losing what you had, even if it wasn’t what your heart wanted the most. That’s why, you wore a pair of sneakers and sneaked out of the door quietly, running to his car and slipping in before he drove away. At first it was quite, but that was until you reached for his hand with your own and he stopped the car near a cliff turning around and looking you with glossy eyes.

“Why am I never enough?” He said, voice breaking and you resisted the urge to reach out and hug him, chosing to listen to him instead. “It’s like, whatever I do, my parents don’t really care you know? Even after all this time, after all those things I’ve done to gain their attention they still won’t acknowledge me. I-I have no idea what to do goddamit. They only care for their money, like it’s the only thing in the world. They’re so caught up in their jobs that they can’t even see their marriage is failing. They can’t even see what a failure of a son they have.” He said, raising his voice and he hit his hand on the wheel, startling you.

You knew of his family problems, from brief mentions in the past, but you didn’t know it affected him so much. Suddenly it all clicked. Now you understood, why Lee Donghyuck was the person he was, why he never let anyone else know the real him, why he caused problems. He was just a kid, wanting to get love and attention. You cupped his face with your hand, your fingers wiping the stray tears that escaped his eyes and he tilted his face to the touch of your palm sighing in content at the feeling.

“You’re not a failure. You’re one of the most interesting people I know. The smartest. And if your parents can’t realise that then it’s not your fault. You’re an amazing person Hyuck. It’s not fair to you to hide behind a mask. I know who you can be and who you are. And I’m proud of you for pulling through all this time. It’s time to prove to yourself, who you are too.” You said, voice barely a whisper while Donghyuck’s hand found it’s way towards your own free hand and held it like his life depended on it. And before you could even mutter another word, he reached out and gave you a bone crushing hug, mumbling a soft thank you before kissing your temple. You sighed at the familiar scent of cigarettes and strawberry gum, his favourite flavor, before sneaking your hands around his waist to hold him closer. And you stayed like that for what it seemed hours, comforting one another.

That night you went home and cried until you fell asleep, because what you felt for him was so strong yet so stupid because you knew he would never feel the same way.

Remember when you taught me fate?

Said it’d all be worth the wait

Like that night in the back of the cab

When your fingers walked in my hand

Next day, nothin’ on my phone

But I can still smell you on my clothes

Always hoping that things would change

But we went right back to your games

“Do you believe in fate?” Donghyuck had asked you one night where you both laid in the park, your head on his chest while he played with your hair, while you were gazing at the stars. Over the span of your friendship, Donghyuck had in fact fallen in love with you as well, but he was too scared to act on it, both from the trauma of his parents broken marriage and from the fact that he could lose you. That didn’t stop him from doing anything he could to feel as close to you as he could in that way, confusing both you and him at the progress.

“Hm?” You said, looking up at him, only to see him looking at the stars above you. You took the time to admire his face and the way his features were painted silver by the light of the moonlight and there was nothing you wanted more in that moment than to softly kiss his lips. But you knew you couldn’t so you just looked at him, grateful for the fact that you could at least share those moments with him.

“I don’t know, fate, soulmates, do you believe in all of that?” He said, taking his eyes off the night sky to admire your face and the way your big eyes looked at him.

“I mean, it’d be pretty cute if that was true. Imagine having a person made to be with you. Your person. Like the universe came together, just to find two people that were made for eachother. That shit’s romantic.” You chuckled and raised your eyebrows and him. He grinned and caressed your face with his hand, making your heart almost leave your chest and you prayed he couldn’t feel how hard it was beating.

“I should get you home.” He whispered, still looking at you, his fingers brushing against your lips, “It’s getting late.”

That night, he had forgotten his keys again. So you took a cab back to your house together, him not wanting to leave you alone until you were safe inside your house. His hand never left yours the whole ride, his fingers walking in your hand, while you rested your head on his shoulder, listening to him humming a sweet melody. That night, before he left you to go to his house, Donghyuck couldn’t resist you anymore. That night, he kissed you for the first time, in your doorstep, hands softly holding your waist as if he was afraid he’d break you. That night you slept in bliss, hoping that finally things would change, that he actually felt the same about you, while he went home mortified at the thought that he would ruin something as pure as you. That’s why the rest of the days, he did anything in his power to avoid you. He stopped picking you up, stopped picking up your calls, stopped hanging out with you. He’d see you at the halls and would change direction, breaking your already broken heart even more in the process and making you wonder if all this was just a game to him.

And even if I run away

Give my heart a holiday

Still, strawberries and cigarettes always taste like you

You always leave me wanting more

I can’t shake my hunger for

Strawberries and cigarettes always taste like you

Yeah, they always taste like you

Long nights, daydreams

With that sugar and smoke rings

Always taste like you

Running away from you and his feelings had to be the most stupid thing Haechan had done so far and he had done a lot of stupid things. He was aware of that yet he didn’t know how to fix what he broke. Ever since he stopped talking to you, he wasn’t able to eat, he wasn’t in the mood to do anything and he had pretty much returned to the person he was before he met you, which he absolutely hated. Most importantly he missed you like crazy, he missed your laugh, he missed the way your face scrunched when you were confused, he missed listening to you talk, he missed the way you cared for him. The quick holiday his heart had taken away from you made him realise the one thing he already knew but was too afraid to admit. He was hopelessly and utterly in love with you. He wanted to be your person, the person you share your happiness and your struggles with, the person that you feel closer to you than anyone.

You weren’t much better actually. That week without Hyuck was probably the worst of your life. He had made himself such a constant in your life, that you still waited for him to call you up in the middle of the night to drive you places, resulting you in not sleeping for the past week. You couldn’t do anything other than sleep to ease the pain, seeing as literally anything else reminded you of him and your heart couldn’t take it. The worst thing was that you literally felt played and humiliated. How could he get so close to you only to toy you like that? How could he show you this side of him and then play you like he played all those other girls? All those thoughts were occupying your brain, yet you still felt the same way about him. You still loved him and that upset you more than anything.

On a Saturday night, you were moping around the house, watching a sad movie and eating ice cream when you heard the doorbell. You looked at the time confused, seeing as you weren’t expecting anyone but nonetheless you still went ahead and opened the door. And the minute you opened it, you wished you had just pretended to be asleep because there in front of you stood Donghyuck, his hair disseveled like he’d run his hands through it too many times, dark circles decorating his beautiful eyes and a regretful look on his face. You tried to close the door but he stuck his foot in the house, blocking you from closing it before he entered the house and threw his hands around you, engulfing you in a desperate hug. You stood there frozen, not knowing what to do, wanting to hug him back but knowing you shouldn’t. He took you out of your dilemma by pulling away and taking your face between his hands making you look at him.

“Can we please talk?” He said softly, his eyes searching your whole face. You unfroze from your position and took a step back, your hands crossing in front of your chest defensively.

“I don’t think we have anything to talk about. You’ve already made it clear Haechan. It was your game. You’ve won, you got everything you wanted.” You said, your voice breaking, making him know how upset you were. You saw the hurt in his face, when you called him by the name everyone else called him, like you didn’t know him.

“Please Y/N. I swear what you believe is not the truth.” He said desperately, taking a step towards you while you took one back.

“Oh and what do I believe then? Tell me Haechan, what do I believe? You kissed me, you asshole, you made me fall for you and then what? You ignored me? Like we never meant anything to eachother?” You said, your voice accidentally raising, while tears you didn’t know had found home in your eyes fell down your cheeks.

“I got scared okay?” He said, throwing his hands in the air, “I’ve never felt this way about someone Y/N and I got scared. God, I’m stupid, I know that but I’m also utterly in love with you and that mortifies me.”

“Y-wait what?” You whispered, looking at his face and saw that his eyes were as well glossy with tears. “You do what?”

“I. Love. You” He said and took a step towards you, reaching out and taking your hand in his, putting it on his heart. “Feel this? You’re doing this to me. And I- I didn’t know how to handle it. You’re the best thing that has ever happened to me and I felt that if I was with you, I’d ruin you somehow. But at the same time, I just can’t get enough of you. And I don’t know when you took my heart and made it yours, but as much as I know that I’m bad for you, I can’t stay away from you. I-” You cut him off by placing your lips on his, softly while your hand found a place in his hair softly tugging it. He froze at first, but soon deepened the kiss, resting his hands on your sides, lips softly moulding together with yours.

You pulled away and looked at him before slapping his head playfully. “You idiot, stop making choices for me. I love you and I can’t imagine a better person for me than you. I love you so much.” You grinned, happy tears falling from your eyes before he wiped them and kissed you again.

“I love you so much. I’m sorry I’m such an idiot and I’m sorry it took so long.” He said and smiled sheepishly with the same smile he had when you first met him when he joined you at the backyard. “Can we go cuddle and make up for the lost time now?” He pouted and you laughed while hugging him.

“Sure, come on.”

And that’s how you spent the whole night, wrapped up in each others embrace, talking and laughing, happy to finally belong to one another.

Better man ll Haechan

short haechan fluff, kinda suggestive idk????? i was feeling like it so yeah here is is

You were laying on the couch mindlessly watching a tv show while waiting for your boyfriend to come home from practice when you heard keys and the door opening and closing. Donghyuck wasn’t supposed to be back for at least 5 more hours so you were startled at the sound and you peaked your head over the back of the couch only to see your boyfriend tiredly coming through the living room door, running a hair through his freshly dyed hair, his bag on one shoulder and his sweats hanging low from his hips. You looked at his face, noticing how dark his circles had become and how thin his face had turned, from all the weight loss and you couldn’t help but furrow your eyebrows in worry, quickly collecting yourself and standing up to go greet him. Upon noticing you, his lips twitched upwards into a loving grin and he dropped his bag on the floor, opening his arms to welcome you into his embrace. You sneaked your hands around his waist and kissed his lips before nuzzling your head in his chest. You could feel him exhaling in your hair while he rubbed your sides, before pulling back to take a look at your face.

“You are back home early, is everything okay?” You asked, bringing one hand to cup his cheek, while your fingers softly caressed the smooth skin.

“Yeah, we did well today so they let us leave.” He sighed and tilted his head pleased at the way your hand felt on his skin, “The guys went drinking but I wanted to get back to you. I’ve missed you.” He said and brought his hand on your neck, pulling you closer and settling his lips on yours. The kiss was soft at the begining but it soon got deeper and Donghyuck put his hands on both of your sides, rubbing the skin over your shirt while your hands got lost somewhere in his fluffy hair. He bit your lip making you leave a soft moan at the sensation and you let your hands wander on his body, feeling the heated skin of his stomach under his shirt. You could feel him smirking while he backed you up towards the wall, his hands finding your butt and giving it a small squeeze as a signal to jump. You slightly squealed, making Donghyuck pull away and laugh at you before he continued by attacking your throat with kisses reaching all the places he could. You slightly pushed his chest and he looked up at you, his plushy lips now swollen from kissing you and his hair ruffled from you tugging at it.

“Babe, you haven’t even eaten yet.” you said while you tried to fix his messy hair.

“I can skip lunch and go straight to dessert though.” He said winking at you, while a smirk found the way to his face. You laughed and playfully hit his shoulder while taking your legs off his waist and straightening your clothes.

“C'mon you can eat some food now and then you’ll have as much dessert as you want.” You said poking at his chest and escaping the arms that caged you on the wall, taking his hand and dragging with you.

“Ugh, fine but you promised.” He said, pouting, while he patted your butt with his free hand.

You prepared the table for him, making him some noodles while he sat on the kitchen isle and later sat down with him, doing him some company while he talked about his day, how he aced today’s choreography and laughed at some story about how Taeyong chased Jaehyun around the practice room because the later ate his cherry pie. You couldn’t help but admire the way his face lit up when he talked about the things he loved and how his smile made your heart flutter at the sight. Dating Donghyuck was never easy, seeing as the time you spent together was minimal and he always had schedules he had to attend, so you never had the chance to be a normal couple. You knew he loved you and he would do anything to be with you though and you did ,as well, love him more than anything, so the thought of leaving him never ever crossed your mind. You enjoyed and cherished every moment you got with him, whether that was small, secret dates by the park, sleeping and waking up with him, seeing his face even if it was only for an hour and you wouldn’t trade that for the world.

Donghyuck noticed you had zoned out of the conversation when he asked you how your day was and you never replied, so he looked up at you and he met your full of concentration, scrunched face and he mentally uwued at the sight, so he took your face his hands, startling you before he asked you if you were okay.

“Yeah, I just, I love you so much.” you said, softly putting your hands over his and holding them, while you brought your face closer to his so that your lips barely brushed his. “So, so much.”

“I love you. Thank you for being the best girlfriend in the world even if I can’t be the best boyfriend for you.” He said, voice barely a whisper while he lovingly looked you in the eyes.

“You’re so much more than that.” You said and finally connected your lips to his.

No matter how hard things got for the both of you, you and him knew that as long as you were together nothing else mattered. Donghyuck felt like you were his home, the person behind everything he is right now, because if he didn’t have your support and your love, he wouldn’t be able to come this far. And he would always be thankful to you for that.

Y/n and Haechan are settling in to watch Christmas movies. What is supposed to be a relaxing evening together though soon turns into a heated debate on if the move “The Nightmare Before Christmas” is a Christmas or Halloween movie.

Part of the long term couples series. Can be read as a stand alone.

Settling on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and a mug of hot chocolate you look back towards the kitchen where your boyfriend Haechan was grabbing more snacks for the two of you. It had started to snow earlier today and the two of you had decided the enjoy the snowy weather by snuggling up on the couch and watching Christmas movies with one another. Haechan came walking out of the kitchen with his own mug of hot chocolate and bags of chips.

Haechan sat down the snacks on the coffee table before he settled on the couch next to you and started to scroll through the list of movies that was available to the two of you. You watch as Haechan scrolls past movie after movie before he turns to you to see if any of the movies he has gone past has piqued your interest.

“Seen anything that you want to watch?”

“Not really but I was thinking that we could start with The Nightmare Before Christmas.” You tell Haechan. You feel his body start to shake and turn to look over at him to see what the cause of his movement could be. You cock your head to the side wondering why he would be laughing.

           “Why are you laughing?”

“Y/n we can’t watch that movie. It’s not a Christmas movie it’s a Halloween movie.” Haechan points out to you like it is the most obvious thing in the world and he finds it’s hilarious that you would even have made this suggestion.

“What do you mean it’s not a Christmas movie? Of course, it is, it even has the word Christmas in the title!” You stand from the couch and place your hands on your hips and peer down at Haechan in complete disbelief.

“You’re wrong. Just because Christmas is in the title doesn’t make it a Christmas movie. It’s more about Halloween and how Jack is going through an identity crisis.” Haechan argues back. You throw your head back in frustration before setting your glare on him.

When Haechan had asked you what Christmas movie you wanted to watch tonight you did not think that your suggestion would lead to the two of you going over why or why not The Nightmare Before Christmas was or was not a Christmas movie. It shouldn’t have surprised you that you two were having this discussion though. Just last week you two had gotten into a heated conversation over which food was better to eat at a baseball game hamburgers or hot dogs. The answer is clearly hamburgers, Haechan had different thoughts on this those and argued his point for hot dogs.

“Santa is in the movie!” You almost scream. “How can you say that it’s not a Christmas movie when Santa Clause is in the movie?”

“He’s a side character he is not the main character making the movie a Halloween movie not a Christmas movie.” Is Haechan’s argument back.

“You can’t be serious? That would be saying that every Hallmark movie isn’t a Christmas movie because Santa isn’t the main character.” Waiting to see what Haechan will come up with next you start to smile thinking that you have won this argument because he hasn’t come up with a response and your about to do a victory dance when Haechan responds.

“But their main focus is all about Christmas while the Nightmare Before Christmas is all focused-on Jack and how he doesn’t know if he wants to be the pumpkin king anymore. It’s like any movie that talks about Santa’s child not knowing if they want to follow in their father’s footsteps.”

“The movie takes place during the Christmas season!” This time you do shout in exasperation. Haechan for his part continues to calmly look up at you from his spot on the couch. The only give away that you get from him is the slight twitch of his lip.

“Hey love birds what are you two up to?” Both of you turn to see Johnny standing at the entryway of the living room.

“Finally! Someone with good judgement is here,” you exclaim. Haechan just shakes his head at you, but you ignore him and focus on Johnny instead.

“Serious questions are The Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie?” Johnny looks between the two of you before he burst out into laughter.

“You two have the weirdest arguments.” Normally you would make an argument back about Johnny’s comment but you’re more concerned with winning the argument you are having with Haechan. When Johnny realizes that you are not going to say anything until he answers your question he sighs.

“I think that it’s a Christmas movie.” You pump your arms up in the air and shout out in glee while Haechan whines and starts to protest claiming that Johnny was only saying that because he knew that was what you wanted.

“Stop whining just because Johnny agrees with me and is clearly choosing right!” You demand, Johnny just smirks at you as he makes his way out of the living room leaving the two of you alone. You move back onto the couch and snuggle into Haechan who continues to whine. While you start to pull up the movie.

“I can’t believe Hyung agreed with you over me! I have never felt so betrayed before.” Haechan goes on as you press play on the movie.

“Haechan you should just accept that you are wrong and enjoy the fact that you get to sit on the couch with me curled up next to you and watch a movie together.” You inform him.

“Fine but I get to choose the next Christmas movie.” Haechan wraps his arms around you and snuggles himself and you into the couch. You both turn towards the movie and start to watch it in silence. You turn your head towards Haechan and kiss the underside of his jaw before you settle yourself more onto him and turn your attention back to the movie.

“I still think it’s a Halloween movie,” Haechan whispers causing you to silently laugh as you both continue to watch the movie.

Haechan and Y/n can’t stop thinking about one another. They are both afraid though that the other isn’t intererested and seek out some advice from their friends.

Part of the long term couples series

Tossing the controller to the side Haechan let’s out a deep sigh and glares at the screen in front of him. He’s bored and is tired of not being able to move about easily. He misses performing and is used to being active. When he was first told that he would have to stay off his leg he thought it would be a fun an extended vacation that he didn’t plan. That quickly changed when he realized that he was going to be spending most of his healing time alone in the dorm. Everyone was busy and it wasn’t like they could sit around all day and entertain him.

Looking down at his cast Haechan wonders if you are working today or if it’s your day off. This isn’t the first time that you have crossed his mind. Ever since he met you at the hospital and you wrote on his cast, he hasn’t been able to get you out of his head. There was something about you that intrigued him. Maybe it was the fact that even though you knew who he was and were a fan you still treated him like a person. He didn’t get that a lot anymore. Sure, his members treated him like a normal person, but the staff were paid and while they were all nice to him, he wasn’t always sure if they meant it or were doing it because it was their job.

You were different though from the moment you met him you treated him just like everyone else expect at the end. When he found out that you had stayed past your working hours just to see him after he got his cast and sign it, he had this strange feeling in his chest. While he didn’t like what you wrote on his cast it made him smile. You were not afraid to tease him, and it wasn’t often that someone could make his manager laugh like he did when he had told Haechan about what you wrote.

“Hey Hyuck,” Looking up Haechan smiles over at Taeil’s girlfriend as she makes her way towards him and takes a seat next to him. Haechan doesn’t hesitate to move into Taeil’s girlfriend and rest his head against their shoulder. Their hand comes up and they start to run their fingers through his hair.

Haechan snuggles in closer to them, they were always good at taking care of him. He often thought that if he had an older sister, he hoped that it would have been someone like you. Who took care of him, didn’t mind his constant need for attention, and would lovingly tease him. Haechan often told Taeil that he couldn’t do better than you and if he wasn’t careful, he was going to steal you from him. Taeil never believed the threat and would just roll his eyes as he walked away from him.

           “How are you holding up?”

“Alright, I’m bored and wish that I could join the others.” Haechan admitted.

“You’ll be back with them soon. Only a few more weeks to go.” They assure him.

“Can I ask you something and promise you won’t tell Taeil about it.” Haechan peeks up at them. Their hand stills in his hair and they look down at him studying his face for a moment before nodding their head.

“How did you know that you liked Hyung,” Haechan felt you shift but he ignores it and continued on staring at the wall opposite the two of you, “How did you know that he was the one you wanted to be with and that he liked you back and wasn’t just being nice?”

“Is there someone that you think you might like?” This time Haechan did look up at them and they were smiling down at him with gentle eyes. Pulling away from them Haechan sat up and turn to full face them as best he could without jolting his leg to much.

“There was an intern at the hospital when I went in to get my leg checked out. She was nice to be me, but it felt different from other people’s nice. It felt…” Haechan hesitated he wasn’t sure how to describe how it felt. “It felt like when you are nice to me but more than that. It didn’t feel like she was doing it because she had to but because she wanted to. And then she stayed after she was done with work just to see me after I got my cast and to sign it.”

“Hyuck to be honest with you I don’t know if the first time I met Taeil I knew that I liked him and wanted to be with him. I was definitely interested in him. I liked his smile and how he was easy to talk to. He made me feel comfortable and he was honest with me. But at first, I didn’t know where it was going to go. Sometimes you just have to take a risk and see where it goes. I can tell you that I felt like Taeil was worth the risk. Sometimes there are people who come into your life, and they just fit into it so easily that it just seems right to let them in. To give them a chance and see where it goes maybe that is what this person is for you.”

“Maybe, but what if they don’t want to give me a chance?”

“Then that’s their loss not yours. If this person is smart at all they will see what a wonderful person you are and will give you a chance. Even if you can be slightly annoying.” Haechan grumbles at that but smiles nonetheless and leans back into them.

“I still don’t know exactly how I feel about them.” Haechan whispers to them. Their fingers return to his hair, and they give a soft hum in return.

“That’s okay. Tell them that when you see them next and be honest that you want to see them, but you don’t know where this will go.”

           “Okay, thanks Noona.”

“Anytime Hyuck,” Haechan feels them lean down and place a soft kiss to the top of his head and he smiles and tells you that he’s going to tell Taeil that they’re going around kissing other men behind his back. They just laugh and tell him to go right ahead. The two of then settle into comfortable silence and Haechan starts to drift off to sleep with their fingers running through his hair.

Setting the drinks in your hand down on the table you settle into your seat with your friends and take a sip from your drink. You and your friends tried to get together once a week. It didn’t always happen what with all of you having crazy schedules and it had been almost a month since you saw each other meaning that you were all long overdue for a night out together. This was the downside to none of you living together anymore. While you liked having your own place you missed coming home to them and the place always being filled with laughter and someone to talk to.

“I can’t believe it’s been so long since we’ve all seen each other we have so much to catch up on!” One of your friends stated at you all settled into your seats.

“Let’s start with the boring and move into the exciting,” another friend chirped, “how work and school going?”

You all laughed as she asked the question that was boring. You all answer though talking about how school was either almost over and some of you were stressed out. You are being one of those stressed-out people. You had thought with school only being your internship you would be less stressed but that wasn’t the case. Then about your jobs some were good, others boring, and some of you wanted to kill your boss and you all came up with different ways to get rid of said bosses. The drinks kept flowing and you all settled into the ease that was your friendship.

“Now the important question!” exclaimed another friend, “How is everyone’s love life going.”

This conversation went much deeper than the school and work topic. Most of your friends were in relationships and all at various stages. Some had been dating their significant other for years and others were just starting a relationship, and some of you just had people that you were interested in, but nothing had happened yet. Then there was you, you who had no one. Well, maybe not no one but then again you weren’t sure if you could even count them as a person of interest.

“Y/n what about you? You’ve been awfully quiet on this topic,” You shake yourself out of your thoughts and look around the table at your friends who are all watching you closely. You pick up your drink and take a big sip.

“To be honest I’m not sure what I have going on with me.” You tell them. This of course peeks all of their interest and they all lean in closer. You almost laugh at this if your thoughts weren’t so filled with a certain someone who liked to whine and had an adorable smile that made you want to cover their face in kisses.

“Tell us everything! Don’t leave a single detail out.”

“We’re going to need more drinks.” You tell your friends and one of them disappears to buy the next round. Once you all have full glasses. You tell them everything about your encounter with Haechan. Well almost everything, you leave out the part about him being an idol and his name. Those are things that you can’t share for obvious reason.

“It’s not like I’m going to see him again anyway,” you tell them as you take another large gulp from your drink, “I might not be there when he comes back in to get his cast removed and he travels all the time for work. Making it impossible for us to date. And I talk to him that one time. He probably doesn’t even remember me or think about me.”

“You signed his cast. He’s thinking about you,” your friend assures you. You give her a skeptical look.

“I’m serious!” They exclaim as the rest all nod in agreement, “Listen talk to your supervisor see if you can there when he comes in for his next appointment. Say that you want to practice patient follow up or something like that. And if he tells you no. Then take a peek into his file and see what day he comes in next, and you then just happen to be in the area and bump into him.”

“I’m not looking into his file when I’m not supposed to be,” There was no way you were about to risk losing your internship just because Haechan was taking up more space in your head than any other person ever has. “But…I’ll talk to my supervisor.”

The table cheers and you duck down in embarrassment. You could not believe that you were seriously going to ask your supervisor if you could be in on Haechan’s next appointment. Part of you did want to make sure that he had healed up alright and could return to work but that wasn’t the main reason you wanted to be in on his appointment. You want to see him again, to see his boyish grin and to have him tease you once again. You weren’t sure if this was a good idea or not but there was something about Haechan that was pulling you in.

Haechan is back at the doctors. This time though is to have his cast removed and maybe to ask Y/n out on a date. If they are there.

Part of the long term couples series

Six weeks since he’s been able to walk around on his own, six weeks since he’s seen you, six weeks since he has heard your voice. Over this time Haechan often thought about you and would catch himself trying to look at what you wrote on his cast. He would find himself smiling as he thought about how you didn’t put up with any of his shit and handed it right back to him. It didn’t matter to you that he was an idol or that he was part of a group that you listened to. You treated him just like anyone else and he found it refreshing.

Bouncing his leg up and down he is hoping that you’ll be in the exam room today with him. He wasn’t sure what your job was exactly and he feared that your job did not require you to be in the room for when patients returned to have their cast removed. One of Haechan’s managers glances down at his bouncing leg and he notices that they are fighting back a smile. Rolling his eyes Haechan crosses his arms over his chest and slumps down in his chair with a loud huff. Everyone thought it was funny how smitten he’s become with you after just one meeting. He didn’t think it was the tiniest bit funny.

Finally Haechan is called back into an exam room and he hobbles his way to the room. This cast cannot get removed fast enough he thinks as he makes his way into the exam room. Looking around his mouth pulls down at the ends, disappointment evident on his face. Sitting in one of the chairs, Haechan ignores the conversation that his manager and the nurse are having. He doesn’t tune back into the conversation until he hears the nurse saying that Dr. Kim and you would be in a little bit to remove the cast and look his leg over.

Perking up at hearing that you are in fact here and will be examining him, Haechan can’t stop the smile that spreads across his face. His manager just rolls his eyes at him and doesn’t even bother trying to stop themselves from smiling. They just grab the chair next to him and wait for the doctor to arrive. In what feels like hours but it is probably only a few minutes, the door opens and in walks Dr. Kim followed closely by you. Haechan forgot just how cute you were and his heart rate picks up at seeing you. You’re looking over his chart and when you do look up your eyes lock. You give him a small smile and Haechan almost swears that he sees a small blush coming across your cheeks. But Dr.Kim steps in front of you blocking his view.

“Ready to get your cast removed?” Dr. Kim smiles down at Haechan.

“More than ready. I have been going crazy with this thing on,” Haechan admits.

“How have you been feeling? Any pain?” Haechan shakes his head no as Dr. Kim and you wash your hands, put gloves on, and ready the tools to remove his cast.

“Okay Haechan why don’t you lay back for us and if it’s alright with you I’m going to let my intern Ms. Y/L/N remove your cast.”

Looking over at you Haechan sees you holding a small saw in your hand you smile at him and Haechan doesn’t hesitate to return the smile.

“As long as she promises not to cut anything important I’m fine with it,” Haechan lays back down. You let out a breathy laugh and tell him not to worry before he hears the sound of the saw and you go to work at removing the cast.

In no time at all his cast is removed and Haechan is looking down at his leg. It looks a little less muscular but otherwise it looks like it’s fine. Dr.Kim is talking about how they are going to get some x-rays to make sure that it’s healed correctly and then they’ll bring him back here to talk about therapy and any restrictions that he might have. You roll a wheelchair in front and Haechan frowns down at the chair.

“Seriously I can’t walk to my x-ray?” Haechan whines.

“Nope, you know the rules. Once we know that you’re fully healed you can cartwheel out of here for all I care but until then you’re in the chair.” You smirk. Haechan glares at you but gets in the chair.

The two of you don’t speak as Haechan is pushed to his x-ray. He didn’t think that he’d be seeing you and didn’t think much past just being able to see you. But this is probably going to be one of the fews times that he is going to be alone with you and if he wants to make a move it is going to have to be made now. Parking the wheel chair next to the exam table Haechan watches as you lock the wheelchair in place and move to stand in front of you. Looking up at you Haechan takes a deep breath before he opens his mouth.

“I was hoping that I would get to see you today,” Haechan started off. You raise an eyebrow in question before reaching out to help Haechan stand and onto the exam table, “there is something that I wanted to ask you.”

“Still not going to tell you who my bias is.” Haechan chuckles at that.

“As much as I want to know the answer to that, I have a more important question to ask you.” You pause what you are doing and wait for Haechan to continue on. “I wanted to know if you would go out on a date with me sometime.”

Haechan rushes out. He watches as your eyes widen. You stare at him for a few beats before you recover and go back to preparing him for his x-ray. Haechan starts to panic as you go about your work and not answer him. Maybe he was reading what the two of you had the last time you saw each other wrong. He had thought there was a connection but maybe it was all just on his end and you were only being nice to him because he was injured.

“It’s cute watching you panic,” you tell him before taking a step back from the table, “and yes I loved to go out on a date with you.”

“Really?” Haechan questions, almost unable to remain calm.

“Really but first let’s get you out of that cast and then you can tell me more about this date.”

“Deal,” Haechan smiles at you and before you have a chance to walk away he reaches out for your wrist and grabs it. “And eventually you are going to tell me who your bias is. Believe it or not I can be a patient man.”

Smiling as you pull your wrist out of his hold, “You’ll have to be.” you tell him before walking out of the room and leaving Haechan smiling like a fool on the exam table.

Stars glow bewitchingly under the noxious night, enchanting anyone under its gleam. In the serenade of late night’s dim glimmer, the stars act as a choir; singing in infinite patterns.

The extravagant Chevrolet Corvette stays parked exquisite, allowing heads to steal glances as it appears deluxe; proving that luxury is a definite thief of scrutiny.

Graciously, Donghyuck grabs you by the hips; pulling your delicate body in as you fall breathlessly onto his figure. The Lee catches your plumped lips in his after brief departure, despising any loss of physical contact. He repeatedly leaves honeyed whispers into your ear, allowing your breath to get stuck up your throat in bewilderment.

Donghyuck holds your body tighter inside his arms, guiding your body towards the Chevrolet Corvette’s back seat as it is more spacious in comparison to the passenger seat.

Your hands find their way towards his soft locks, plunking them eagerly as your lips move together messily; not exactly in concurrence. Donghyuck’s hands continuously travel on your exquisitely breathtaking body, feeling every inch of it on top of his own.

“My phone-” You whisper breathily as the bothersome noise of your phone ringing agitates you both. Donghyuck lets out a groan in grievance, stretching out his arm in order to reach for your phone; acknowledging that it could be extensive.

“Who is it?” You ask as he stares at the caller id, letting out a chuckle afterwards.

“Na is calling, cute.” Donghyuck states as a smile out of mockery commences to play on his face.

“Did you have a date or something?” He questions gravelly, dropping your phone onto the passenger seat as his lips find their way back onto yours.

You throw your head back as his lips come in contact with your bare neck, one of his hands rests on your hip as the other fiddles with the hem of your top.

You hardly succeed in letting out a “Yeah” since Donghyuck’s lips sucking on your neck don’t exactly allow you to put together meaningful words.

“You’re bad.” Donghyuck whispers on top of your lips as he reaches towards your phone once again, switching it to silent mode.

“Tell me about it.” You roll your eyes, stating one last time before the phone is long forgotten.

The two of you focus all of your attention on each other for the night inside the Chevrolet Corvette, bodies pressed tightly onto each other. You feel exceedingly captivated by the burnette, much more than you would like to admit. From the way his body delicately dances on top of yours to the way your name easily slips between his lips. Everything about Lee Donghyuck is more than enchanting and you seem to lose yourself under his spell even more as time passes, melting into every touch.

Though, things don’t feel as euphoric for the Na. A bouquet of dazzling red roses sit loosely inside his grip, about to fall any moment. Jaemin stands still in front of a water fountain, the water fountain you had told him to meet up with you just hours prior.

His expression is dull, no emotion seems visible yet he feels as though tears can stream down his face any second if someone ever slightly touches his figure.

Na Jaemin is absolutely broken. He blames himself for falling in so deep to the point where he has no idea how to get up.

You were the one who reached out. You were the one who told him to wait for you by the water fountain, where you had first confessed your love for him.

Oh, Jaemin swears that he would give up anything and everything to go back to those times. To the times where you visibly held so much adoration for him. To the times when his love received some type of reaction, some type of response.

I guess this is the reality of life, he whispers the bitter truth to himself as the tears he had been holding in for so long finally escape his eyes, coming in contact with his cheeks.

By now, Na Jaemin drops the bouquet made of alluring red roses onto the ground. He is crying, he really is crying because of you. The Na feels pathetic, absolutely pathetic. Yet he can’t seem to help it. He can’t seem to put a stop to the tears falling from his eyes.

That day, his hope gets destroyed. His plans of confessing the amount of adoration he holds for you get crashed.

Na Jaemin couldn’t tell you he loved you by the water fountain, though his tears sure were an accompaniment to the water falling out of the fountain.

After all, water fountains are always crying. How could he have expected to live through a pleasant experience with you in front of a broken water fountain?
