I’m reblogging again because I did it myself and added pictures for those who have trouble learning from the video.
First take a standard rectangular piece of paper (I used one from a small notebook which I ripped out then cut the holes off)
Then fold in half touching the shorter side to the opposite shorter side.
Fold again making the new shorter side touch the other new shorter side
I did this one more time, but this time I unfolded it right after to get back to where it was only folded twice. It should have left a crease in the paper.
Using this crease, fold the corners up alongside it to look like this
This are also going to be unfolded, but this time you’re going to push in alongside the triangular folds you just made and undid.
Doing this once will result in this

Do the other side of you haven’t already to get this
You’ll open these newly created flap to change which parts are touching

Then you start pulling the top “tabs” down

It is an extremely accelerated timelapse made by Kevin Gill, the movement here is more a matter of Cassini whipping past Jupiter at astounding speeds than the motion of the moons, which is why there’s such a large parallax shift, but it’s actual images taken during the Cassini flyby. They did another one of Titan orbiting Saturn, you can see that at the end of this video. [Flickr link]
So, last November I started another Good Omens needlepoint to help get through the cold days of Winter. This time I used my own colored pencil drawing–of Aziraphale reading the Nice and Accurate Prophecies–for the pattern. Here is that drawing:
I generated a pattern using the wonderful (and free!) online service, pixelstitch.net (geared to cross stitch, but that works just the same for needlepoint). So far I’ve done a bit over 14,000 of the total 35,000 stitches (error free!).
The finished piece will be 14.25" x 12.5". I’m using 6-strand DMC embroidery floss on 14-mesh Zweigart needlepoint canvas, with continental and half-cross stitches. Hope to finish by April!

do y'all even know how much i hate being an “elder queer” at 40? a whole goddamn generation before me was wiped out by a plague that politicians deemed not their problem bc it was killing the “right” people. like. this was OPENLY STATED. i spent a large chunk of my childhood going to funerals. nevermind the fact that killing queer people for being queer wasn’t codified into law as a hate crime until i was a junior in high school.
i should NOT be an elder queer, i should be middle at most. i am a middle aged queer. most of the elder queers died.
when i was growing up i didn’t go to pride parades, i went to pride marches. because that’s 100% what they were in the 80s and 90s.
from the absolute bottom of my heart, LEARN OUR FUCKING HISTORY. a generation was nearly wiped out so you young queers could be here. don’t let that have been in vain, please.
