The problem with myself is that the BBC has spoiled me rotten with the Porthos casting and now every adaptation falls a little short of my expectations
Howard Charles as Porthos is literally my dream man so same
Well, it took FOREVER but I finally finished my sketch of Porthos in his glorious Season 3 armor. Colored pencils and metallic pens on paper with a digital background. Much thanks to @enigma-the-mysterious for finding this pic.
You guys can also follow me on Instagram @ hj_creates_ I post more updates and WIPs and less random reblogs there.
[ID: Porthos, on horseback, putting his hat on and saying: “I’ll do my best.” /end ID]
A tall, strong man, he’s always been interested in the outdoors and physical sports. In fencing and riding and hunting. He thought with his hands as much as with his brain. This left him enough mind only to attempt to do what needed to be done and what needed to be done at that moment. It made him more practical and focused than any of his comrades and, in that, often the savior of them all.
Finally got my hands on Whitstable Pearl. The first episode was a bit of a drag and a bore but I am on the third episode now and it’s got consistently better. The protagonist, Pearl Nolan, has grown on me. Howard Charles is amazing as usual and it’s a delight to have him on my screen again. I am not a fan of the fridged wife/girlfriend trope giving the male protagonist some convenient Man Pain (even though Howie plays the tormented/suffering soul part tremendously well) and this has been my only major gripe about this otherwise enjoyable show so far.
