When you haven’t read/seen/heard your artist friends’ works, but you see the latest Disney ASAP because it’s Disney,
a) ouch
b) you’re fueling the huge inequality wherein corporations make mega money and indie artists make little.

remember that quote on how being focused on one specific local issue is more proactive than spreading yourself too thin across all the different types of activism
that’s how i feel about diverse art. lot of the time when an artist is focusing largely on one type of character, like a particular visually distinct disability, a rare to be seen body type, skin condition etc, it’s not because their art sucks for not being diverse enough for your taste, it’s because they’re creating something they can see themselves in
do not treat individual artists like you do media companies, diverse art is not an abstract trend to get likes, it’s a personal self-expression and you should treat it as such
