In November, my Haemanthus albiflos sent up a very sturdy flower stalk with a simple white flower at the end.  I think this is the most elegant plant in my collection.  I like its economy of leaves.

9/27/16:Clerodendrum thomsoniae; A species of flowering plant that is also classified as a long stemmed woody vine, native to tropical west Africa. It’s numerous flowers are produced in “cymes”, a type of inflorescence which I’d never heard of before! (An inflorescence is a grouping of flowers and how they’re arranged) Anywho, this cool plant needs a warm tropical-humid environment to be happy, typically needs to be watered on a daily basis, but it can be skipped on cloudy days. I just love the overall look of this plant’s leaves and flowers and how they correlate well with its vine structure!
