De La Mina Verbena (Verbena lilacina ‘De La Mina’). Native to the Cedros Islands off Baja California, this tough little shrub comes in at 2'H x 4'W. Delicate serated shaped leaves form this plant in a tidy low growing mound. Starting in Spring then slowing during the hottest months, countless little flowers cover the plant. The flowers have a sweet fragrance and are attractive to pollinators like bees and the Painted Lady Butterfly.

Hepatica, a luminous, elfin beauty of early spring. The blooms stand on furry, purple stalks and the petioles of the tri-lobed leaves stretch far out in front of the plant. If you see the flowers but not the leaves, sweep back the leaf litter around it, they’re probably hiding.
