me internally: all cops are shitty because all cops are accomplices to the systemic repression carried out by the state and they’re agents of violence on both the structural and the individual level….by doing their job aka being a ‘good cop’ theyre carrying out a level of brutal violence and violation that police oversight committees and journalists refuse to see. U can’t demilitarize an institution that protects capitalism, breaks strikes, and upholds white supremacy. U cant sensitivity train away the fundamentally racist, antiblack, and xenophobic purpose of an institution that was created to segregate and criminalize and brutalize people because its very notions of criminality and aggressiveness belong to white supremacy.
everything about what the police are supposed to do is the problem and all cops participate in this. cops exist to maintain the law and order of the capitalist class, to maintain the white supremacist capitalist cisheteropatriarchy, to criminalize and brutalize the poor, the queer, and people of color. all others whose existence challenges the system will be subdued. there are no good cops

The new office, situated at 949 Longwood Avenue (corner of Kelly St.) was opened early this April and will continue the programs started in El Barrio. More than this, it will begin programs relevant to the people in the Bronx area, it will also serve as a Latin Community News Service called “Palante” in which international revolutionary news will be included, and distributed to the people of the community. On this date, July 20, in 1967, the first national Black Power conference opened in Newark, New Jersey.
More than a thousand people from a wide array of community organizations and other groups convened in Newark on July 20, 1967, to discuss the most pressing issues of the day facing African-Americans at the first national Black Power Conference.
It was one of the largest such gatherings of Black leaders, with representatives of nearly 300 organizations and institutions from 126 cities in 26 states, Bermuda and Nigeria. The conference held workshops, presented papers for specific programs and developed more than 80 resolutions calling for emphasis of Black power in political, economic and cultural affairs. Oh, it very much occurs to me, and is also the problem. Trump was on record of having said vile things about women, had multiple complaints of harassment/assault against him, and many other marks against his ability to lead that have been exhausted all over the internet by this point. That white women observed all of this, and still thought, “Well, none of that affects me, and I’m sure he’ll be great at everything else” is alarming and embarrassing.
If you voted for Trump and are doubling down on your support for him, either because you’re more upset about people calling you out than you are by things he’s doing, or because you genuinely don’t see anything wrong with him supporting actual Nazis but not DACA recipients or many other things he’s done in the last several months, you are part of the problem. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
