In the days that followed his crowning the King sat on his throne in the Hall of the Kings and pronounced his judgements. And embassies came from many lands and peoples, from the East and the South, and from the borders of Mirkwood, and from Dunland in the west. And the King pardoned the Easterlings that had given themselves up, and sent them away free, and he made peace with the peoples of Harad; and the slaves of Mordor he released and gave to them all the lands about Lake Núrnen to be their own. And there were brought before him many to receive his praise and reward for their valour; and last the captain of the Guard brought to him Beregond to be judged.

And the King said to Beregond: ‘Beregond, by your sword blood was spilled in the Hallows, where that is forbidden. Also you left your post without leave of Lord or of Captain. For these things, of old, death was the penalty. Now therefore I must pronounce your doom.

'All penalty is remitted for your valour in battle, and still more because all that you did was for the love of the Lord Faramir. Nonetheless you must leave the Guard of the Citadel, and you must go forth from the City of Minas Tirith.’

Then the blood left Beregond’s face, and he was stricken to the heart and bowed his head. But the King said.:

'So it must be, for you are appointed to the White Company, the Guard of Faramir, Prince of Ithilien, and you shall be its captain and dwell in Emyn Arnen in honour and peace, and in the service of him for whom you risked all, to save him from death.’

And then Beregond, perceiving the mercy and justice of the King, was glad, and kneeling kissed his hand, and departed in joy and content. And Aragorn gave to Faramir Ithilien to be his princedom, and bade him dwell in the hills of Emyn Arnen within sight of the City.

thinking about how Gimli says that he respects the trees for their worth but doesn’t love them but he started off respecting Legolas for his worth and now he loves him and that’s not the same because the love Gimli feels for Legolas is REAL love and Tolkien knew that when he wrote the parallels god

Middle-earth March - Day 23

“What about the Oliphaunts?” is the question our friends over at @tolkientribeask for today’s Middle-earth March. We had a close look into our bookshelves and found this little treasure! It’s Tolkien’s poem “Oliphaunt”, lovely illustrated and published as a single cardboard book for little children. It’s also pretty rare and hard to get!

I love this draw of Legolas, obviously he looks more like a prince as a ruler on this land, still he is under Thranduil’s kingdom but he help to heal this place that was so close mordor and the swamp of the dead…. Prince Legolas Tranduilion from Eryn Lasgalen

“They were once Men. Great Kings of Men. Then Sauron the Deceiver gave to them nine Rings of Power.

“They were once Men. Great Kings of Men. Then Sauron the Deceiver gave to them nine Rings of Power. Blinded by their greed, they took them without question, one by one falling to darkness. Now they are slaves to his will. They are the Nazgûl, Ringwraiths, neither living nor dead.” ~ Aragorn

Thankfully I don’t have to give rings of power to my friends to get them to dress up in robes and chase people with swords. Free tacos and the chance to make some art usually does the trick.
Swipe to see some behind the scenes video of our Nazgûl shoot! It takes a lot to get a single photo. Photographer @nicolasbruno has a whole team to support him when we shoot from “fog guy” (me in this case) and horse holders to models and stunt actors. A single photo is the combined work of hundreds of man-hours. From costume design all the way to final edit, it is a labor of love we are so happy to get the chance to do!

“The road may pass, but they shall not! Not while Faramir is Captain. He leads now in all perilous ventures.” ~ Tolkien

Something I love about the way Tolkien crafted Faramir as a character is he is the perfect example of why it is better to be a good man than a mighty one. Boromir was the more perilous of the two brothers. But he failed in strength to do what Faramir did from the nobility of his heart. It was that noble heart that made the younger son of Denethor a successful leader in battle, not his sword arm. Not all are born with the physique to be mighty warriors, but we can each cultivate our hearts and minds to lead with honor and kindness.

I like The Lord of the Rings movies and books as well. Tolkien created a fantastic world with interesting creatures and mithology. And I really like to immerse myself in it. (Especially when I read it.)

And a movies soundtrack’s are amazing to. The ride of the Rohirrim was my ringtone for many years.

Aragorn and Gandalf are my favourite characters, but I found workout with Legolas, so there are. Extra an Ithilien Ranger workou. Thanks to neilarey and darebee.

Have fun, defeat the orcs!
