I decided on the spur of the moment to make my family high tea this afternoon. Everyone’s been so busy with work and projects, I thought it might be a nice way to bring us all together. So, with that in mind I set to work baking some old favourites, but also trying something new. Caraway Seed Cake, Spicy Fruit Loaf and oven baked Cinnamon Donuts. I’ve wanted to try this donut recipe for a long time and I’m so excited, that today’s the day. I wish social media had a way of sharing the aroma of freshly baked goods, because my house smells amazing at the moment.

Anyway, we all had a lovely afternoon and the donuts were a great success. I really didn’t know how they’d turn out, but they were light and fluffy … and hot out of the oven, so yummy. I’ve already had requests for more, with custard fillings and lemon glaze … So a big thumbs up

Happy Sunday … #sunday

Working through the short days and dark evenings of winter can be fun …

This month I’ve been sorting through all of my beads and charms. I finally have them all organised and tidied away, which makes life so much easier.

No mean feat, as I’ve literally collected thousands over the years …

Anyway, I’ve rediscovered many hidden treasures that I’d completely forgotten about, and I was especially delighted to find some miracle beads.

These gorgeous little beads glisten and glow as the light catches them … so pretty and I’m completely obsessed.

No great surprise then, that I’ve started the year with some beadwork … I’m definitely in my happy place. I’m having loads of fun making bag charms, bookmarks and bracelets, all of which I’ll pop in our shop as I finish them.

Here’s a quick peek at some of today’s projects …

Goodnight all …

My first attempt at dutch oven bread … freshly baked and filling my kitchen with the most amazing aroma. Simply scrumptious … time for some supper …

It been a quiet start to the new year, and that’s fine by me. We taken some time away from social media and the news, just playing board games and reading books by the fire … I feel like we really needed that little bit of calm.

We finally saw some snow yesterday … very exciting. It’s been so nice to get outside and enjoy the fresh air, especially after the hustle and bustle of Christmas.

But now it’s time to ease back into work, and we definitely have lots of projects planned for the year ahead. Starting off today, by planting my hydroponic gardens … just a few lettuce, tomatoes and herbs, but it makes me so happy.

Anyway, wishing you all the best for 2022 … hope it brings good things and happiness your way … Xxx
