Imagine Kaladin realizing he’s falling in a new depression episode. And now that he’s getting better at therapy, he’s actively ,yet subtley, seeking help

So, He goes to find Adolin himself. Because Adolin always finds a way to distract him from his dark thoughts.

And Adolin realizes something is wrong. He doesn’t say it nor does he say that he could cry out of happiness that Kaladin is trying to let Adolin help.

And suddenly, since Kaladin is trying to escape his darker ones he accidentally speaks other thoughts out loud…

“ How DO you make your hair look like that ?! “

They both freeze.. till Adolin laughs so much he falls and Kaladin almost leaves.

“ Well, Bridgeboy, It’s easier to show you”

And Kaladin ends up with a new hair cut. He welcomed the change. It was one less reminder of his days as a slave and a bridgeman if he changed the sight in the mirror.

Not exactly like Adolin’s , but similar in it’s admirable casual messiness : deliberate style ratio. Yet more formal because it’s stormface Kaladin and we can’t make him too adorable

I can imagine it as shortened to his ears with layered waves

And it looked so good that Kaladin can’t complain about how much time it took and how annoyingly Adolin is grinning

…That Shallan didn’t even speak a word and instantly took out her sketch book and starting drawing him

…That Navani gave him a compliment.

… That Dalinar did a double check, raised his eyebrow at his son, dropped it, then nodded.

… That almost all Bridge Four members jokingly catcalled him in the barracks, The more polite ones told him it looked great.

… That Syl replicated it for a few days

All in all, It was a good distraction.

don’t forget Kal is soaking wet during the Szeth pinnacle fight

I felt like drawing Kaladin and Syl, I’m an horrible person and I haven’t started the second book yet…

look all i’m saying is that kaladin must have had always had perfect skin or else the whole stormli

look all i’m saying is that kaladin must have had always had perfect skin or else the whole stormlight healing thing would have been really obvious pretty immediately

Kaladin:I think horses are a big threat to your national security.

Dalinar: may I ask why?

Kaladin:no

Kaladin: Okay Shallan, give me your hairdryer

Shallan:My what?

Kaladin: Don’t you carry a hairdryer in your safe pouch?

Shallan: Have you ever met a human woman before?

Adolin, walking over: Hey guys what’s up?

Kaladin: Do you have a hairdryer?

Adolin, pulling out a hairdryer: Of course I do, I’m not an animal

I just realized that Moash and Kaladin’s roles killing Elhokar was just a variation of that crappy superhero trope where the “hero” slaughters all the henchmen (who for all we know just got pulled into the situation due to unfortunate life circumstances) to get to the villain, who purposely and willfully caused extreme harm to many people, only for the hero to spare them out of “mercy”

For some reason, massive collateral damage is excusable if the people who died weren’t narratively important. But killing someone who is directly responsible for the suffering of others is crossing a line

Up until this point, Kaladin definitely has a lot more blood on his hands than Moash, from his time as a Radiant and as a soldier, but his refusal to kill this one Narratively significant character is what makes him good and Moash bad

Dalinar at the beginning of Words of Radiance: I intend to rebuild the Knights Radiant!

Adolin: But they all had special powers!

If I’m gonna do one tiny sketch of one of my literary loves, I might as well whip up one of the other. Have a quick exasperated Kal~

If you lined up Kaladin, Shallan and Adolin, and then asked someone “guess which of these people is not okay with killing in cold blood”, I don’t think they’d expect the answer.

Kaladin Stormblessed: *exists*

Adolin, Shallan, at least three quarters of Bridge Four, 95% of Stormlight Archive characters and 95% of Stormlight Archive readers:

There are a two constants with “Stormlight Archive”…

  1. 95% of the characters have a mild-to-intense crush on Kaladin Stormblessed.
  2. Kaladin Stormblessed is completely unaware of this.

#listen he’s asexual he doesn’t have to know about it#let him live his life in peace

You are absolutely right and you should say it.

In the Arcanum Unbounded, it says that a Rosharan foot is longer than cosmere standard. How does that compare to an Earth foot?

Brandon Sanderson: Longer.

Kaladin is almost seven feet tall, by our measurements.

We’ve got a height comparison, Shallan is about six feet tall.

She thinks she’s short. Compared to us, she’d be on the taller end. That’s why if you notice people from around the cosmere that show up, they’re often mentioned as short. Not Hoid, who’s able to use magical means to change how he’s perceived, but someone like Felt, and stuff like that.

Finally got around to reading Rhythm of War and it did a thorough job of ripping out my heart and soul. In a good way, of course. Now all I wanna do is draw TSA hhhh
