especially on the second page I was trying to go for more serious and sincere expressions, since those are the difficult ones for him to get to feel right, but then there was a conversation about him introducing Shallan to a rave and it all went downhill from there. Kelsier wore the mullet better, until that moustache was added and it fit Hoid so perfectly, it hurt a bit.
AfterSkybreaker on ice I somehow ended up with a Windrunner ballet… I was drawing a ballerina for a job, and when I sketched Syl in my free time, once again I thought how I always imagine her with the poise and built of a classical dancer and one thing led to another and here we are.

Here are the diamonds for the Stormlight Archive playing card deck! Loved working on these and so excited for them to finally go to print. I think this suit might end up being my favorite.
You give her the right Hava and if she is on the shorter side she could be a good Shallan. I imagine them the way my brain imagines them, but if we are going be as accurate as possible everyone who is not from Shinover would look Asian.
Not that you couldn’t cosplay whoever the hell you want even if you aren’t the same ethnicity. It’s not like we can control that.
This is my Shallan costume from Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive series. It was fun designing the costume based off various descriptions in the book. Having my left hand (the safe hand) covered was a must of course! My favorite part of the costume is the hand painted Pattern, as he was often described to hide among the folds of her skirt in the book. Construction details and more photos can be found here!
