And Adolin realizes something is wrong. He doesn’t say it nor does he say that he could cry out of happiness that Kaladin is trying to let Adolin help.
And suddenly, since Kaladin is trying to escape his darker ones he accidentally speaks other thoughts out loud…
“ How DO you make your hair look like that ?! “
They both freeze.. till Adolin laughs so much he falls and Kaladin almost leaves.
“ Well, Bridgeboy, It’s easier to show you”
And Kaladin ends up with a new hair cut. He welcomed the change. It was one less reminder of his days as a slave and a bridgeman if he changed the sight in the mirror.
Not exactly like Adolin’s , but similar in it’s admirable casual messiness : deliberate style ratio. Yet more formal because it’s stormface Kaladin and we can’t make him too adorable

I really want for stormlight six Jaswit to be not a thing but for the stupidest reason. It’s only because Jasnah got annoyed with Hoid vanishing so many times that she called it off. He tells her some things about his history, realized he has somewhere else to be and goes there. She gets tired of it and is like “I’m THROUGH with this.” But he doesn’t know because she doesn’t know where he went to. When he comes back from his adventure as a coatrack in a noodle cafe and she is like “we’re better off as friends plus I’m not feeling that big on romance.” He‘s like yeah and in private they’re still really good friends and yeah but in public whenever he sees her he gets to act like a scorned ex-lover and is really overdramatic about it because he wants to have fun.
Sockoiid: The UV wavelength is wider for Voidlight. Is there an Investiture reason why the bands are wider instead of brighter? Wider bands doesn’t make sense in physics, due to Snell’s law, but brighter works.
Brandon Sanderson: The reason I did this, I actually did this very intentionally. This can go two ways. What I’m hoping you’ll see is: this is Brandon understanding the physics of our world and saying, “It’s okay to let go, because I am not using the physics of our world.” This is supposed to say to you, “All right, I understand this doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to.” Because what I’m doing with the constructive and destructive interference requires Cosmere intervention in order to actually work. Destructive interference is not magically different in any way than constructive interference, or than any other sound wave, it’s just where you position it. You couldn’t look at it by itself and be like, “Oh, that is the anti-song to this song.” That’s not how it works. The anti-song to this song a song that is aligned differently; they sound the same to you. They’re just played in such a way that is destructive interference. And I needed there to be a dividing line that said, “We are actually working in Cosmere physics here.”
And the main reason to do that is that, the nuts-and-bolts reason, is so that those who knew their physics could be like, “Ah, okay, we are in a fantasy world. We are in a world where people don’t irradiate each other with redshifts, and indeed this destructive interference can be magically known as the opposite of this other sound because humans beings are considering it so and that makes it so.” And there are a couple of other things about the physics through the books that are done that way.
What’s the in world reason that it’s like that? That is a RAFO.
GOD the end of oathbringer was literally so powerful, and i can’t believe row starts and dalinar has done literally nothing by way of reparations and has suffered no consequences from telling the world he’s a war criminal who killed his own wife
stormlight needs to return to actually having discussions about pacifism i cant do another infinity war type book…..like i recognize that rhythm didnt focus on philosophy the way the others did partially cause it wasnt a big dalinar book and while the moral quandary between dalinar and taravangian is probably going to consume his kowt chapters, it just looked silly from adolin’s eyes like. i really do think the discussion of imperialism and colonialism and war needs to be had by literally anyone who isn’t a kholin

One of my favorite characters in Rhythm of War! Kinda tried a bit of a different approach to drawing a rhythm. Worked on this for about 3 months now and then bc I’m really not used to drawing digitally at all!
Our April commission speaks for itself, so we’ll just let it do that. We hired Nozomi Matsuoka once again, and once again she delivered a painting way better than we had hoped for
@mochegoche commissioned the Kholins (and their significant others) with a mirror image of their spren. Honestly I had such a blast with this piece, especially drawing out characters I haven’t done before. Thank you so much for the commission!
