this is now heavily deviating from canon BUT WHAT IF MAGLOR LEAVES LITTLE THINGS AROUND FOR ELROND IN PLACES HE FREQUENTLY GOES TO
I’m listening to a mom outside making up a little song about how it’s bathtime (literally just variations on “It’s bathtime nooow ”, nothing fancy)
Her toddler is just. Happily using the same tune to say with increasing glee “No it’s nooot ”
And oh god. That’s. That’s probably how it was like when Maglor was raising Elrond right? Minstrel and mini minstrel. Every chore is a song battle. Maedhros and Elros have headaches. There are people who have followed the Feanorians for the entire First Age and are now considering quitting or maybe just picking a fight with the first orc they see
Maglor and the twins– the half-elves were fighting over bedtime again.
Maedhros gritted his teeth and pinched himself back to full wakefulness, and continued with his paperwork. A garrison of barely forty people, while around them the world fell to darkness and rot, and still there was paperwork—watch schedules to decide, supply lists to review… Watch schedules that they could barely maintain with their scant people, supplies that ran increasingly thin…and did his headache not grow in even the meager candlelight, was his body not wearier and his spirit far wearier, did he not wish more than anything to close his eyes and lay down his burdens along with his head on the desk, relax this ceaseless fight for just one night and rest….
He pinched himself again. It was good that the tw– that the half-elves were growing stronger in Song. Amon Ereb didn’t have room for helpless civilians, even ones barely nine years of age. Maedhros had ordered them started with swords, daggers, and bows a full year ago, and they were already tolerably competent with all—thank goodness they seemed to grow like Men, rather than toddling Elves.

I was especially inspired after watching a video about tawny owl mum Luna and her foster chicks (aptly named Dawn and Dusk)! You can watch the first part of their story here if you feel like seeing some cute balls of floof XDDD
I was finally inspired to do a kidnap fam painting! I went for monochrome this time because I didn’t have enough energy for full colour loll Plus I really like this old, Victorian-like portrait style!
As for the poem, I’ve recently had to read Hilda Doolittle’s poetry for school, and I was rather inspired to give another try at poems! This one is meant to be Maedros’ contemplation as he watches his Blobrond XDDD

wHERE do I begin??? The composition of the first one is so dynamic and fluid and gorgeous!!! Maedros’ hair is such a lovely vibrant red, and you can just see the threatening anger in his eye!! I think it’s especially poignant that we can’t see Elrond’s face; and I had lots of fun following the trail of Elrond’s hair and how it swirls with Maedros’ cloak (which also seems to merge with Elrond’s robe and protectively wraps around him?? aaaaaa the feeeeels T_T) aaaaerselkrlkfn it’s just so LOVELY >:<
And the second one!! I love the colours!!! They’re so warm and radiant and gentle!! Elrond’s baby face is soooo adorable, and the light on his face is awesome! He looks quite determined and all snuggled up XDDD And I love seeing Maedros’ face here; he looks far more solemn with his face in shadow, and I can see the glowing hints of his freckles and scars!! And how Elrond tucks his head against Maedros’ face aaawwwwww my heart T_T

AAAAAAHHH OH MY GOSHHHH THIS IS GORGEOUS!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ No worries about the reference, it’s totally okay!!! XDDD Ahh my goodness, this is so beautiful, I love it so much!! ❤️❤️❤️ The colours are so vibrant, and the red lighting is super cool, and the sword!! Looks awesome!! I always have a hard time drawing swords hahaa so I’m always in awe of others’ sword work XDDD
And Elrond’s sweet round face!!! The way he fits so snugly against Maedros is so cute!! And Maedros’ grim expression, and the kinstugi scars!! Sorry, all I can do is just yell about all the things I love about this ^^;;;;; I can’t help it loll! And I see that they wear the same arm band aaaaahh T_T

My contribution to both @feanorianweekand@arlenianchronicles DTIYS; Maedhros and little Elrond. I love how this tall, scary warcriminal ended up being a loving foster father. Quality of it turned out rough (scanner really changed to look of it) but I’m glad to get back into drawing Elves.
Ahhhhhhh I love this one!!! The pencil shading looks so soft and smooth, and it really brings out the light/shadow contrast!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I’m running out of words to describe the loveliness of this, sorry ^^;;; I barely work with pencils and other traditional mediums, so I’m always in awe whenever I see work like this!! My entry for @arlenianchronicles’s DTIYS. As with last time, it’s not entirely based off of one of her originals, but that’s no surprise. Also I’m not really satisfied with how it turned out and it only got worse the more I tried to fix it, but in any case it’s still better than some of the other stuff I’ve posted on this disaster of a blog so there we go I guess.
Oooohhhohohh this looks amazing!!!! I love your take on this challenge!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ The fierceness of the piece comes through so strongly!! I love Maedros’ glowy eye here, it really matches the glow of the flames behind him – kinda like a “kindred spirits” thing XDDD And his hair moves like the flames too!! AND his prosthetic looks awesome!!! Look at that shiny gold!! :DDD
Fortunately Elrond is kept on the cooler side XDD He looks so frightened, aaah my goodness, you did such a good job with their expressions!!! T_T I especially love how Maedros leans down towards Elrond, as though to shield his head (because the rest of Elrond is already hidden by his cloak XDD) ❤️❤️❤️

I’m still on my Elden Ring adrenaline, so here’s Maedros and Elrond again from my AU! I wanted to go for a Soulsborne-y atmosphere to go with the game’s opening cinematic (and the trailers too, those are beautiful). Plus this is my first time drawing an arm at that angle, and I’m so excited with how it turned out! :DDD
Without spoiling too much story-wise (because I’m also kinda embarrassed to share my self-indulgent crossovers loll), this is from a little scene where the twins break Maedros and Maglor out of captivity in Leyndell’s dungeons. They succeed, but now the four of them have to escape the capital’s subterranean levels XDDD
I took inspiration from Japanese kinstugi for Maedros’ scars, though I’m still working on how he got it. Likely something magic-related loll I’ll think of something! Also, I had some trouble with the golden ornaments on his sword, but I’m satisfied with it for now.
Whelp I’ve gone an done it again folks! Allow me to present my Elden Ring kidnap fam AU! The idea here is that the Fëanorians and twins are NPCs, with their backstories tied into the game’s lore. The Fëanorians will appear as major bosses, but the player has the option to redeem them, and they’ll become the player’s allies.
I kinda got carried away with this and came up with different quests involving the fam loll XDDD Here are the basics: the twins are cursed, and the Fëanorians have been trying to cure them since the start of the Shattering. In order to make them your allies, you have to follow the quests that will save the twins. There’s good and bad options the player can take. Angst babyyy!
Design notes are below!
Maedros’ design is essentially a revamped version of his bodyguard!AU armour (and I personally like this version better loll). I tried to keep it looking Soulsborne boss-ish, but I imagine this is Maedros in his prime, when his armour is still quite shiny and his cloak intact.
Likewise with Maglor – I turned him into a sorcerer who uses music, so I took inspiration from Rennala and the students of Raya Lucaria for his clothing. I’m also really happy with how his harp turned out! :D
As for the twins, there’s a painting in the game’s opening cinematic that features one of the demigods (who I won’t spoil). If you watch the cinematic, I’m sure you’ll find out which painting I took inspiration from XDD I wanted to give their design a pearlescent quality, with iridescent fairy wings or bird feathers in their hair. They’re also quite tiny compared to the Feanorians, and that was done on purpose since Soulsborne bosses are always so darn huge lmaooo

And the lighting!!! The sun smiles down upon them, I see XDDD The shading really helps to bring out those glowy braids in Maedros’ hair, and both their earrings! And I love Elrond’s little earring hehee it’s a sweet way to connect these two!

I had really fun drawing this, especially the twins haha, I am not really good at drawings kids so it was something new for me also mags was definitely the problematic child, he just refused to be drawn! I had to redo him like 3 times I am still not satisfied with his posture but oh well

I just adore the kidnap fam so I was naturally drawn to Bedtime Reading - so i decided to do this one using my character designs. Elrond is on the left in red, Elros on the right in blue with his weird haircut.
I had so much fun doing this and I feel like I learned so much about lighting and composition! I normally don’t play too much with light sources because i’m lazy so this was a fun challenge :D
