Altered my Sabaton so it sits nicely and fixed onto my greaves!
Biggest issue I had before was that when these were in its 15th century state, which sabatons and greaves were not attached, is that these store bought products doesn’t fit well and the sabaton were seriously hurting my super flat feet.

Took most of the lames apart, made a new transition part to attach the two parts, and the result is quite comfortable!
Time to work on the other one before adding a back plate for the sabaton!

Beginning to future-liza my legs!
In the 16th century, many sabatons were attached to the greaves, where it behaves as one system.
There are a lot of work needed to be done to these before it can look anything like the real thing but for now, just testing out the front part of how the sabaton and the greaves works with one another.

Steel toe shoes guys, it’s important.

Did a small thin metal piece that’ll hold all the feather in place!

FINALLY got the mobility and smoothness that I was looking for in my helmet!
Ohhh man I’m sure it can be more smooth but this is good enough for me for a fight! I’ll wear this again on the weekend to test out the comfort level.
I think I worked out all the kinks in the firing of the new gorget to the helmet…. now back to the other parts!

Doesn’t seem like much but these much head to neck mobility is GOD TIER COMFORT. I gave this maxmillion armet more eye slits, the vision is absolutely insanely good!!! It almost feels like I don’t have a visor at all. And now that i can freely turn my neck left and right,up and down it is SO.SO.GOOD. can’t believe armor can get this good. And this is just some off the shelve item modded.
Time to sand and polish it some more so the head can rotate much more smoothly!!

Visor are typically latched down, either over the pin, or into a cored out hole in the pin.
I find these to be absolutely fascinating as It takes so much precision to even get the latch to close everytime.

That and I wonder..would the latch lock my head In if it was struck hard enough

Many armors in the museum has minor imperfections, dents, ridges not perfectly straight, edges not evenly smooth, and its all proof that each and every piece were crafted by the skilled hands of a master of their craft. 16th century burgonet fix up! Got this Burgonet a long time ago and it was an reenactment use only, the bevor was sitting really poorly.
Took pretty much the entire helmet apart and added 2 brass hinges to it.
Worked a lot better now! Might wear it for show later after I further refine it.

I must say, the vision is impressive on a burgonet even with the visor up.
The eye slows are so close to my ocular, that there are almost no vision issue.
