My absolute favourite sword is definitly the Katzbalger, a trust short sword used by the 16th century landskneckh.
Nothing fancy but the feeling of having a nimble and sturdy sword feels safe. I bet a real sharp one would cut nicely!

Beginning to future-liza my legs!
In the 16th century, many sabatons were attached to the greaves, where it behaves as one system.
There are a lot of work needed to be done to these before it can look anything like the real thing but for now, just testing out the front part of how the sabaton and the greaves works with one another.
Steel toe shoes guys, it’s important.

FINALLY got the mobility and smoothness that I was looking for in my helmet!
Ohhh man I’m sure it can be more smooth but this is good enough for me for a fight! I’ll wear this again on the weekend to test out the comfort level.
I think I worked out all the kinks in the firing of the new gorget to the helmet…. now back to the other parts!

Doesn’t seem like much but these much head to neck mobility is GOD TIER COMFORT. I gave this maxmillion armet more eye slits, the vision is absolutely insanely good!!! It almost feels like I don’t have a visor at all. And now that i can freely turn my neck left and right,up and down it is SO.SO.GOOD. can’t believe armor can get this good. And this is just some off the shelve item modded.
Time to sand and polish it some more so the head can rotate much more smoothly!!

Been working on adding lames to my gorget so I can make it into a Turner style armet and helmet. Well, it worked really well until one of the temporary rivet popped out. Thus the gap on my neck. But.. SO FAR SO GOOOD. will start polishing it tomorrow so i can proper peen the pieces together.
A few things I did was adding more lames to the gorget, hammering the top rim flat, and fixing the armet so it locks the gorget in plate. MAN that was a lot of satisfying fun hammering.
Maxmilliom the First Armet from off the shelve product, but works for a temporary helmet.

Many armors in the museum has minor imperfections, dents, ridges not perfectly straight, edges not evenly smooth, and its all proof that each and every piece were crafted by the skilled hands of a master of their craft. I often embrace these marks of human touch rather than the perfect industrial clean cut machine work.

Went for a walk to test out my new helmet!

Totally lost it when because Yanapi took the exact shot that I had mind.
It was so damn cold outside, fingers and toes were hella numb, but surprisingly, the armor kept my body really warm hahaha.

Started to cut out most of the cuisse and lower tasset. Damn using Dewalt cut off wheel on a grinder make such quick work with these on this 18 guage stainless plate.
Can’t wait to do all the rest of the cutting sometimes this week so I can start assembling the piece together

16th century burgonet fix up! Got this Burgonet a long time ago and it was an reenactment use only, the bevor was sitting really poorly.
Took pretty much the entire helmet apart and added 2 brass hinges to it.
Worked a lot better now! Might wear it for show later after I further refine it.
I must say, the vision is impressive on a burgonet even with the visor up.
The eye slows are so close to my ocular, that there are almost no vision issue.

During the 16th century, the separation of different genres within the art world was very prominent. They were considered to be ranked in order of importance, being: History, Portrait, Genre, LandscapeandStill life. History paintings were viewed as the most significant due to their narrative subject matter rather than artistic style, whereas the Landscape genre was considered less important as it did not include the same notion of depicting a moment in a factual story.
However, the 19th century saw a remarkable explosion of naturalistic landscape painting, and this was when it began to rise in popularity and significance. Flatford Mill byJohn Constable is a perfect example that displays this beauty of landscape paintings, and why it became better recognised. The painting displays a scenic countryside from Constable’s childhood spent in Suffolk, with intricate details shown, such as the boy and the horse. A large canvas was used which created an even more virtual and atmospheric scene, reflecting largely on the landscape itself and feeling almost convincing enough to be real. Due to this noteworthy execution amongst other qualities, it is unsurprising that landscape art has grown in regards to recognition. Whether this was due to the belief that nature is a direct manifestation of God, the increasing alienation of people from nature by growing industrialisation and urbanisation in the 19th century, or just simply the media’s influence over time — it is still a big, ever-growing art form within the 21st century. Landscape art became the vehicle for a revolution in Western painting, and so the traditional hierarchy of the genres collapsed.
