“In Utero didn’t turn out as planned and Kurt had mixed feelings about it. He [Kurt] bought four Polaroid cameras and wanted to shoot the photos of us for the album cover himself. They were going to be really…. artsy. We told Danny [Nirvana’s manager] and he digged the idea but said it wasn’t going to fly. They [Geffen] wanted a commercial album like Nevermind but bigger. Kurt always kid around by saying he was going to walk into David Geffen’s office one day and hold a gun to his head until he agreed to what he wanted. After the album was released most of the photoshoots we did had Kurt with a gun in his hand. People thought it was because he was giving subliminal messages. It was Kurt’s way of saying ‘fuck you Geffen!’. Sure, yeah, at the time it was an inside joke so no one understood it but we did and so did David Geffen. He [Kurt Cobain] was pissed that every idea he had would be shot down. He started to feel powerless at the label.”

ok so when I was young about 10 my dad would get drunk & put his music on really loud & there was this one song I really liked. being 10 I didn’t really understand the meaning of the song or anything but I just really liked it. dad played this bands music for years & years & still does. when I was about 12 I think I asked dad about this band, the first thing that came out of his mouth was “they were an amazing band, but the lead singer blew his head off with a shot gun” i really didn’t understand suicide or anything at that age, sadness yes but not anything dark & deep like that. so about three years ago being fifteen i started singing to the song he always put on & he was like don’t sing this song you don’t know shit about this band (only joking & being drunk like he does) then we sat & talked about the band & how the lead singer of the band the foofighters used to be in the band. from than night I was hooked, I used to listen to there music when I was alone or I wasn’t feeling so happy, & then it became most of the time, this music made me enter a world of music I never knew was even there. over the years of reading stuff about the band, and mostly kurt (as I feel in love with him at first glance of is beautiful face) & listening to there music, I just really felt a connection to kurt & I still do. I now know what I was experiencing back when I was a kid & still do now. feeling suicidal, depressed & all those other things isn’t easy & kurt showed us that. but some times there is no going back for people & for some people they get better. i wasn’t even born when kurt was alive & making his music let alone when he left this earth. but I love this man a lot, one day I hope to meet him, & sit down & talk, just talk about everything. I want him to hold me in my arms & kiss me on the forehead. we all miss you kurt, & we all love you. 1967-forever. (& thank you dad for introducing me to this amazing band & these amazing men, especially my kurt)

Em Los Angeles, a banda se hospou com Jeniffer Finch, baixista do L7, que os descreveu como “semelhante ao número do cachorrão e do cachorrinho no circo: Chad era minúsculo, seu cabelo descia até a bunda e seus olhos eram selvagens: Kurt era um pouco mais alto que Chad, mas com o cabelo fibroso e comprido: e depois tinha Krist, que era tão alto que o pescoço doía ao se olhar para ele”.

Robert Fisher (@nirvanabucket), ex-diretor de arte da Geffen Records, disse à jornalista Carrie Borzillo-Vrenna que: “Kurt estava destruindo o lugar. Eu não podia acreditar que ele saiu dessa sem as costas quebradas ou algo assim.“
Kurt quebrou o lustre do Raji’s no final do show, de acordo com um participante.

Eles estavam excursionando pela Costa Oeste com o TAD, a turnê mais bem-sucedida até então, atraindo plateias grandes e entusiastas.
No Raji’s a banda de abertura era o Distorted Pony, seguida pelo TAD e no fim o NIRVANA. TAD e NIRVANA revezavam o encerramento dos show. Em um show o TAD tocava por ultimo e no outro era a vez do NIRVANA.

Kurt leva uma arma de verdade a minha têmpora. Eu não sei se essa arma estava carregada… Pouco tempo depois, em 5 de Abril de 1994, ele morreu com um tiro que ele mesmo disparou na cabeça, deixando um enorme vazio no coração de todos os verdadeiros roqueiros do planeta.”
