Son Lux - Alternate World
We’re back from holidays and are very happy to be featuring one of our favourite artists of 2013 as our first post of 2014.
One of the many things we love about Ryan Lott, aka Son Lux, is his amazing ability to express human fragility and vulnerability through music. Alternate World, the first track off his recent album, Lanterns, perfectly demonstrates this talent.
Often with such music, we wonder what the back story is behind the song writing that could cause such sorrow. This curiosity is probably what makes the captivating video for this track even more mesmerising.
Directed by Truman & Cooper, the video is a voyeuristic look into the intimate moments of an intense relationship gone wrong. It’s so beautifully done that you really feel the frustration, anger and sadness of the ex-lovers who are recalling these moments after a chance encounter on a crowded train.
Son Lux will be touring Europe and US over the coming months. Fingers crossed that he will one day make the big trek to Australia. Check his Facebook page for tour dates.
