Hey ho! To the bottle I go
To heal my heart and drown my woe
Rain may fall and wind may blow
But there still be
Many miles to go
Sweet is the sound of the pouring rain
And the stream that falls
From hill to plain
Better than rain or rippling brook
Is a mug of beer inside this Took!

Prompt: Anonymous asked: Drabble of Legolas taking reader on their first date. Thanks.
Pairing: Legolas x Reader
________________________________________________________________

“Legolas, where are we going?” You asked.

“Patience, Y/N. All good things come to those that wait.” He replied.

Walking slowly, you tried to peek through the hands that were covering your eyes.

“I can keep my eyes shut on my own, you know. We wouldn’t have to walk so clumsily."

Legolas laughed and kissed the back of your head.

"How do I know you wouldn’t look?”

“You don’t, I guess,” you teased.

In a couple minutes your foot hit a raised surface and you jokingly yelled at your date for not telling you there were stairs. After climbing them, his hands came down from your eyes and you expected to squint in the light, but it was rather dark. You’d expected to be indoors with all the lanterns, not outside beneath the moon.

Legolas had led you to one of the terraces, lit only by one small lantern, leaving the rest to be illuminated by the stars. A light green blanket was spread out on the stone floor, and you noticed several cushions leaning against the wall.

What really took your breath away was the food. Although most of it was in a wicker basket, you could see some of the finest elven wine and your favorite type of cake.

“Legolas! This is perfect and too much at the same time, you hopeless romantic!” You turned and hugged him, your grin widening by the second. “It’s so cliche but I love it.”

“I’m glad you do. Shall we?"

He lightly took hold of your arm and guided you to the midnight picnic, making sure to bring the cushions over. You both sat down and you almost didn’t want to open the basket; it would ruin the perfect image of your perfect date.

"Is something wrong, Y/N?” He asked.

“Hm? Oh, yeah. I just feel that by beginning our meal, I’m inviting it to end. We can’t finish if we never start.”

“Well,” he said, kissing the back of your hand, “when it ends, it won’t be the last one. I promise.”

Sorry it’s so short! I’m coming over major writer’s block.

Prompt: Anonymous asked: Do you think you could do a part 2 of the dealing with the trauma with Legolas? I really liked it! Maybe what happens when they wake up?

The smell of cooking pastries brought you to a gradual awakening. The customary feeling of aprehension upon waking up subsided as you remembered you weren’t in battle, as it did every morning. You also recalled the previous night’s events and realised you hadn’t had another nightmare. Rolling over under the soft covers, you came face-to-face with the blonde elf.

“Good morning,” he said, smiling at you.

“Good morning,” you replied. For a moment you just laid there, staring at his sky-blue eyes and thinking of how lucky you were to have him. “Thanks for staying with me last night. It’s the first time I’ve slept after a nightmare.”

“Of course, Y/N. I’m always here to help.”

It didn’t take long to get properly dressed to greet the rest of the company. Legolas had returned to his room to avoid arousing rumors of any relationship beyond friendship. Soon you were rushing out of your room and into the dining room, being met with the sight of a bunch of people sitting down to breakfast.

“Hello!” You greeted them cheerily.

You were met with several replies, the heartiest of which belonged to Gimli and the hobbits. Never doubt a dwarf when it comes to cheer, you’d learned.

Legolas entered a couple minutes later, sitting a couple seats down from you. Your face brightened when you saw him, but for necessity’s sake you offered nothing more than general greeting. The breakfast proceeded slowly (as it always does when hobbits and dwarves are present) and you found yourself enjoying the feeling of not being anxious at all.

Once the meal was over, you helped Frodo begin to bring everything into the kitchen to be cleaned up. You would have taken care of everything, but he insisted, as it was his house.

The clanking of the glass dishware wasn’t enough to cover up the talking at the dining table, so, hoping to spice up the monotonous act of cleaning, you listened in.

“…slayed that pig like an orc!”

Shit.

An uninvited memory of battle entered your mind, sparking the smallest stirring of anxiety. Trying to block out the conversation, you breathed deeply and focused back on the steady task of washing dishes. Unfortunately the residents of the dining room had deemed it fit to have a mock battle of their own, likely waving around the wooden spoons and using barrel lids as shields.

You noticed that there wasn’t much left to be done, so you decided you could wait it out until you finished. The noises of playfighting rang in your ears, bringing with them memories of your own fighting. Panic rose in your throat as you fought back tears, trying in vain to ignore everything else. Before you knew it your breathing was getting faster and shallower. You took a quick break to down a glass of water, desperately hoping to fend off the impending light-headedness. No use.

“Frodo?” You asked lightly.

“Yes, Y/N?”

“Would you be so kind as to finish the dishes? I’ll help with lunch and dinner, I promise.”

“No worries!”

You hurriedly thanked him and walked out of the kitchen as fast as you could without tripping over your own feet. Glancing out at the dining room, you noticed that Legolas wasn’t among those in the mock battle, and a glimmer of hope pushed its way through your panic.

Your hope was well placed when you turned the corner into his room and saw him reading. He looked up, icy blue eyes searching your own and deepening with concern.

“Are you all right, Y/N?” He asked, getting up and crossing to you.

You shook your head as his arms wrapped around you and you found the pressure of the hug comforting.

“They… in the kitchen… they’re fighting and…” You were barely able to choke out that much before Legolas pulled you closer to his chest, slowly stroking your hair and muttering soothing words.

After a few minutes you’d calmed down a bit, still breathing shakily and fighting off the last bits of anxiety.

“Do you want to lie down for a bit?”

Nodding, you turned and began to head back to your room before Legolas gently put his hand on your shoulder.

“I… I meant in here, like last night.”

A gush of happiness bloomed in your chest, and you made your way over to the inviting bed. It didn’t take long to bury yourself under the covers, but you noticed Legolas had left the room. You could hear him talking in the kitchen and you hoped he wasn’t getting too detailed about the state their play-fighting had put you in. Soon he was back and you rolled over, watching him as he crossed the room to where you lay.

“Thank you, Legolas.” You whispered.

“Like I said, I’ll always be here for you.”

He slipped under the covers and pulled you into an embrace, whispering sweet nothings and playing with your hair until you fell asleep.

Anonymous asked: Can you do a Drabble of Legolas? You two were best friends as children, you moved away, years later you return. Reader and Legolas confess love. Thanks.

Pairing: Legolas X Reader

This was it! The big day! After years, you were finally returning home! Now you’d think that being an elf a century wouldn’t be too long of a time to wait, but to you it felt like it had been much, much longer.

Your family had moved to Rivendell after being invited by Lord Elrond himself, your father was one of the most skilled wariors amongst the armies of the woodland realm, until he was invited to live in Rivendell. The armies of Rivendell were a bit better than the ones of the woodland realm, but your father was greatly respected amongst them.

But now it was time to return to the woodland realm, and you couldn’t have been more excited! It had been literally years since you’d seen anyone from the woodland realm, but there was one person in particular you were looking forwards to seeing again; Legolas.

The prince himself!

Since your father was such a respected elf back in the woodland realm, your family had earned a rather high title, he was the captain of the guard for a long time, and that brought you rather close to the royal family.

You and Legolas had met when both of you were incredibly young, and ever since your first meeting the two of you had been close friends… so close in fact that you had fallen in love with the prince.

But of course you would never even dare to tell him that! You just considered it incredible that the two of you were friends, but you knew that he would never feel the same way about you.

None of that mattered at the moment though, you were back! Back to your home! Back to your family and friends, it was all that you could’ve asked for.

When you and your family arrived back at the woodland realm you had been greeted by King Thranduil and Prince Legolas, and it was only polite, Legolas didn’t make any notice of you, his eyes only landing on your father and his father.

After that, your spirits had fallen, perhaps the prince didn’t care anymore, but it wasn’t until that night when you were in your old chambers did you hear a knock on your door and your spirits had been restored.

As soon as you had flung open the large, wooden door, you had been swept up into a warm embrace. “(Y/n), I’ve missed you so much!”

Looking up, you noticed that it was Legolas who was embracing you, and you were quick to wrap your arms back around him. “I thought you’d forgotten about me.” You muttered into his chest, before he pulled away.

Smiling down at you, Legolas’s hands rested on your shoulders before he spoke again. “How could I ever forget about you? I’ve been waiting for your return for years!” He sighed.

You gave a small laugh, oh how you had missed him. “I’ve missed you too Legolas.” You smiled, your eyes twinkling up at him.

The prince suddenly sobered up, trailing his hands down your arms before taking your hands in his, entwining your fingers. Not expecting this, you gave a little gasp at his boldness. “Legolas,” You brethed. “W-what are you doing?”

Legolas took a deep breath, his eyes boring into yours as he tightened his grip slightly on your hands. “I’ve been wating for you for years,” He repeated. “And I don’t want to wait any longer.”

Your eyes widened, what was he trying to say? “Legolas, I don’t understand…” You trailed off.

He continued on, cutting you off before you could continue. “(y/n),” He paused, taking a quick breath. “I have to tell you something… you… I don’t know how to say this, but (y/n) I’ve loved you ever since we were young, being apart from you these last few years have been the longest in my life, I love you, and I never want to be apart from you again.” He got out.

You were completely in shock, you barely could comprehend what he was saying to you, how could the prince have the same feelings for you as you do for him? It was unheard of! “I don-” you began, trying to find the right words, but Legolas cut you off once more.

“Wait, before you say anything…” And before you really knew what was happening, the prince had leant down and planted his soft lips on yours, in a gentle kiss. Immediately you responded, wrapping your arms around his neck and responding with equal vigor, letting your lips dance agains him.

When you both pulled away you were both breathing heavily, both of you smiling widely. “Legolas, I love you too."

okay!! Finally I’m back, sorry for this fic, it was just a way to get back into writing again… sorry that it kinda sucks >.< I just really wanted to get something up! Hope you all enjoyed!!

Prompt: wemormor asked: My idea for Legolas- he would be in love with human reader who helps the fellowship. She would love him back but trying not to act like this, because she doesn’t want him to leave all elven life for her.

Trekking through the rollings hills, while pleasant to view, was tiring. Tiring beyond belief. In addition, it was awkward. Several days ago, after a particularly pernicious meeting with a band of orcs, Legolas had confessed how scared he’d been of losing you- and how much he loved you. Panicking, you said you didn’t feel the same, and had been hiding the truth since then.

You did love him.

Now, you did your best to avoid him, knowing it would lead to you and him acting to formal around each other instead of just going back to being friends like he promised. It wasn’t that you were scared of loving and elf - quite the opposite. You were scared of an elf loving you, a prince at that. Having heard stories of similar situations, you knew it’d either end in heartbreak or he’d leave his elven life for you. You couldn’t let that happen.

So you kept your feelings a secret.

It was hard not to steal glances at his handsome face, dreaming about what could have been if only you were an elf. There were enough people in the Fellowship for you to not be lonely without him, but you still felt alone for the most part. Your friendship with him had been what convinced you to join… and to stay.

At long last the Fellowship stopped for the night, camping under the endless dome of stars and blackness. The watch rotations were as they had been since the beginning, with you and Legolas taking third watch. However, that hadn’t really mattered, since you never got that much sleep before your watch recently. You were too busy tossing and turning and fighting down your love for the elf.

Tonight was no different.

Still somewhat awake, you easily heard Sam walking over to you so that he could wake you up. You’d found it was easier to pretend you’d been asleep as to avoid anyone worrying over you.

“Time for your watch,” you heard him say as he gently tapped your shoulder.

“Gotcha.” Sitting up, you rubbed your eyes as if you’d been asleep and looked around. Your surroundings were different every night, so you didn’t bother trying to get familiar with them. You just had to know it enough to find the best spots to watch from.

After several minutes you’d finally gotten comfortable on a slight incline, resting against a smooth boulder. The height gave you a view of the Fellowship, it’s surroundings, and-

Legolas.

The elven prince was making his way towards you, quiver strung lazily over one shoulder, bow in hand.

“I couldn’t find a better place to keep watch. Mind if I join you?” He asked.

“Um…” You hesitated, not sure if you should tell him you wanted to be alone. “I guess.”

“Great.”

As he settled down next to you, it took all you had not to subtly inch away from him. You just couldn’t shake the feeling that things were just so awkward.

A couple minutes passed and neither of you had said a word. When Legolas finally did speak, you’d become so entranced by the silence you nearly flinched.

“Have you thought about what I said,Y/N?"

A feeling of dread crept through you stomach, eating its way through the calmness you’d worked up throughout the night. You couldn’t bear to lie to the one you loved again.

"I suppose I have.” You kept your voice flat, your words short. “Why?”

“I was just wondering if you… felt any different about me.”

“No.” It stung, but you couldn’t let an elf fall in love with you. It was as simple as that.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

Legolas turned towards you, sitting up away from the rock. Averting your gaze, you tried to ignore the inquisitive and disbelieving look in his eyes. After a few seconds you looked back at him, impatient.

“What are you looking at?” You snapped.

“Y/N, those aren’t the eyes of someone who doesn’t at least care for the one they’re talking to.” It was hard not to hear the convincing tone in his voice.

“How would you know?”

“I know what it looks like when someone cares about me; I see it when my father looks at me. It’s almost the same as when you do.”

“It’s because you’re my friend, Legolas. I care about you as my friend.”

“Are you sure?” He asked again.

You couldn’t handle this anymore.

“No!” You cried.

Someone shifted among the group of sleeping Fellowship members and you glanced at them, hoping nobody would wake up.

“I don’t know.”

“What don’t you know?”

Meeting his icy blue eyes, you saw hope and affection lighting his stare.

“I don’t know if I want you to love me."

"Y/N, that’s ridiculous. Who doesn’t want someone to love them?”

“A human!” You buried your face in your hands, shaking your head. “I don’t want to be loved by an elf. I know what happens.”

“Look at me."

Legolas’ hand gently guided yours away and you turned your head, fighting back tears.

"I do not know at this point whether I would do that for you. If I did, it would mean saving me from a long life without you. Bringing myself to mortality gives more than it takes.”

Smiling a little, you watched as his face only grew kinder.

"Are you sure?”

“Yes.”
