This is for the Prompt Decade for the @spdrabblebomb Heidi Left South Park for bigger and better things. To become someone who makes a difference. A lot can change in ten years, but for Heidi the only thing that seemed to change was her scenery.

If Tumblr reading ain’t yout thing here’s the link! https://archiveofourown.org/works/13824321/chapters/34209083

It’s true what they say. As you grow older time passes by in the blink of an eye. Years feel like months, months like weeks, weeks like days, and so on and so on.

The thing they don’t tell you is how fast things change in those times. People can go from sneaking out of their parents house and going to sit at the park with their friends to being parents of their own unruly children. Once rebellious leaders of the school become nothing more than a desk jockey for a boring job, and the people who were sure to be failures become successful. The cynical become kind, the kind, cynical.

Friends that you were once inseparable from become nothing more than a fond memory that only passes by for a brief moment before going back into the shadows of the past.
In other words, being a decade out of high school fucking sucks. At least it did for Heidi. Leaving South Park shortly after high school she planned for bigger and better things. To become a leader for girls in abusive relationships, an advocate for people without a voice. None of that, however, happened for her.

Making a difference was a lot harder than making a change.

Oh, Heidi! I really like the direction you took with her character and her drive. I think it’s something a lot of people can relate to that they look at the fact that 10 years has passed and they don’t feel that they’ve amounted to anything. But even just this drabble shows how untrue it is! I appreciated the happier ending, and it was a nice and warm feeling. Thank you for writing!

Title: “Tracing Roots”

“We’ve grown to such a great family, Stan. Couldn’t have done it without you.”

It has been 10 years after Kenny decided to leave his parents’ house with Karen and Kevin on-check after the mentioned parents, Stuart and Carol, got arrested for a major crime. Because of this, they were left behind and without something to stay on, they needed help.. fast. Kenny, out of desperation, managed to talk to someone who can help. That person is none other than Stan Marsh and when he visited his house (they were 15 years old), Kenny wanted to start a new family. He wanted to start over the right way.

I love reflection pieces, because I love to see all the different ideas people come up with to fill in the past of their characters. This one was sad because of how young they were, but I’m glad it had a happy ending! Making Karen an artist was a very cute touch and a nice idea I hadn’t considered before. Thank you for writing!

My Book of Memories - by Tweek Tucker, 2017

Craig:
The contents of this book are for me more than anything, but I’m sure that you’ll like it once I’m long gone and unable to protest. :P It’s important to me that I don’t forget the most important parts of my life, and it happens to be that you make up most of them. I’m sure you’re pretty smug about that.

I know it’s probably weird to address this to you when I’m still alive and I don’t know when my time will come, but it just feels right. Hopefully you’ll be able to read these someday and smile. I just want you to keep smiling.

I love you,
Tweek, forever your sunshiny star ✰

Summer, 2017 (Present Day)

We were asked to write about where we saw ourselves in 10 years one day, in English class. It was a pretty typical assignment, really. Something everybody does at some point. Everyone is asked where they see their future going, and in my opinion, that question puts way too much pressure on a child still going through high school! High school is bad enough!

Anyway- I had been dating Craig for maybe a month when this assignment came about. Obviously, that meant that I was newly in very intense, very dreamy, sloppy, sappy love with him. The honeymoon period, it’s called. I still remember how crazy I felt, for how much I really loved him when I had only just started dating him, but I didn’t want to deny myself the happy butterflies that came with it, so I didn’t. It was so quick that we flipped the switch from ‘best friends’ to ‘boyfriends’ and so was the switch that clicked the rest of my desired future together.

Decade. Major Character Death (Kenny)

https://archiveofourown.org/works/14629641/chapters/33811476

This was submitted by @pbjellieao3, as part of a series of drabbles centering on the New Kid as a character! I really enjoyed the descriptions in this piece. You painted the picture very well and I could easily see what you described in the setting. The ending twist with Karen was an excellent touch! Thank you for sharing.

Awww, this was so sweet! I love the attention to detail you gave Craig’s emotions and the story that you told throughout the decade. I always appreciate when people give Craig a more emotional side, and it makes sense when it comes to his favorite pets. Thank you for writing!

Hello everyone, and welcome to the May 2018 South Park Drabble Bomb! I can’t wait to share with you all the wonderful stories that have been written this time around! Don’t forget to show your support to the writers by liking, reblogging, or leaving kudos and comments if they’ve posted it on AO3!

A refresher on the prompt:
There isn’t a much more direct way to reference the passage of time than a word that literally describes a piece of it. Ten years is a long time- is it a flashback to something that happened then, or how long it took to get somewhere now? Is it simply a number, or something more? Did your muse realize they’re getting old, or that time is running out for something? Or have they realized that something is merely beginning? Was there hardship in that decade, or peace?
