Magikats (my webcomic)simply put, is about magic, cats, and friendship!

Lavender Lovecraft is a young human witch with a Fairy Dog Mother named Angel. She is the descendant of a powerful line of witches, but isn’t very good at magic. One night, she attends the Extravaganza Gala for the debut of the Mojo Runevale Exhibit hosted by her parents in the Museum of Curiosities. Lavender hears a voice calling her name, which lures her to the mysterious Wand of the Vale. After reading the riddle, she falls under a spell and sets out on an unforgettable adventure.

A tip for upcoming comic creators. If you’re writing or illustrating something that is non fictional, do not rely on two or three resources alone. If I’m not mistaken, my pen pal Ethan Young had to go through eight different research books in order to create Najing the burning city(a must read). So far I’m on 11 different bibliographies(two of them i had to watch online since the physical versions are out of print). And that’s not even the tip of the iceberg. #makecomics #mangastyle #research

#inktober day 14. The joy of being an comic creator is doing whatever you want with your art. I know 95% of manga style artists use either their sakura micron or copics sp multi liner pens as outlines. After using both tools for over a year, i decided to break that tradition by going the thick ink route by using pentel’s brush pens. Because my art is more abstract, I knew thin lines weren’t my specialty. Also, because the process of making comics is expensive(especially if going the color route) i am doing this old school by drawing the traditional way. The only part that will be in color are the cover art which i’ll use my copic markers to get the job done. I’ll eventually get into the digital route(for commissions only) but it won’t be anytime soon #inktober2016 #copicart #mangastyle #makecomics
