As the wind blows through the trees, their warm autumn colours remind me of the cool afternoons we would spend together…
Melty Ribbon Chocolate “sister” coord with Yue! I wanted to go for a sort of academic look. The pictures turned out perfectly against the background setting thanks to Herb!! Thank you!

Last week, I posted a reel of a Regency inspired picnic I had in early November with Hime.
These are the outfit pictures to accompany that post.
The outfit is of course not historically accurate, but the dress design, while from a ‘lolita’ brand has clear inspirations from the period. I curled my hair in the late 18th century style for the first time, and I have to say I was really surprised at how much more it instantly made me feel 100x more Austen.
The jacket, while designed for lolita, crops short enough that I used it as a sort of spencer here (though I believe a real spencer would be shorter than this). I handmade a chemisette to achieve more Regency daywear authenticity(didn’t turn out too great but that’s a different story), and hand embellished a straw bonnet.
I also dressed up with some slightly different items for a more evening-appropriate look in the second photo.
It was really fun to wear and dress in this outfit! I wouldn’t give up lolita for the world but I think historic costumes have much of the same spirit and magic!
OP: Resplendent Galaxy (Taobao) Jacket: Visible Milky Way (Taobao) Shoes: Kitten’s Ankles (except white shoes, which are Mary Magdalene) Chemisette and bonnet handmade (flower comb attached is from Henriette, a Japanese indie brand), gloves vintage, anything else is probably offbrand
I had plans to go see wisterias, but I missed them again this year, so I went to see the May roses at Jindai botanical gardens. Since it was “on the way” (on my crazy walking standards), I also visited Coffee House Tom, a kissa that used to be in Yoyogi, but moved to Chofu, as well as all the very traditional Japanese area surrounding Jindaiji. See my Instagram for those pictures.

Next time, I’ll refrain from taking pictures outside at noon on a sunny day, especially if I wear dark clothes. Dat exposure. Dat white bright face
I am also having issues with my eyes (again; must be the pollution), so no eye makeup + glasses, sorry! Btw, I am wearing a low-poof petticoat here even though it doesn’t look like it due to the weight of the bag+coat+wool dress.

In early April, my friend Elle came to visit Tokyo, so I took her to Kokoromi, a quaint little kissaten and gallery operated in an old family home. I know Elle’s favourite colour combo is wine and navy, so I went for that (though this dress is more framboise/plum). Btw, sorry for the lighting; it was really sunny that day and all of my pictures were a bit overexposed (didn’t realise it before I transferred them on my computer), but I did my best with Photoshop to salvage them the best I could.

I fell in love with Alice and the Pirate’s Petit Chaperon Rouge series when I first laid eyes on it, so as soon as I received this JSK I wanted to do a red riding hood themed coord!
I really like not only the country-style cut, but also the print, which has this meta kind of element to it where little red appears to be wearing items from the series (possibly the JSK, cape, and definitely the floral headbow that I’m wearing here). Also, the hunter (and anthropomorphic wolf?) appear to be wearing ouji!
Also…check out the sulking wolf in the last panel.
JSK (Petit Chaperon Rouge), Cape, headbow: Alice and the Pirates Blouse,Socks: Mary Magdalene Boots: Victorian Maiden Basket: offbrand, modified by me
Wine x Navy accents coord. (sorry for so many photos, by the way)
Ever so slightly experimental with adding in the navy, in an attempt to balance it I added some navy bows to the JSK (but I think they look a tad off? I really wanted to use my navy sash with the bows, but I thought that was toooff). I really want to move out of my comfort zone slowly and experiment with bringing in different colours more, overall.
But in any case, this JSK is super lovely!
