So the theme of this generation is Past VS Future. There are two professors (version exclusive), one wearing primitive clothes under her lab coat, the other wearing a futuristic body suit under his. The legendary Pokemon are called Koraidon and Miraidon, the names being the Japanese words for Ancient and Future
3 new Pokemon were revealed along with the legendaries Pawmi, this generation’s Pikachu clone, an electric type
Lechonk, a little normal type pig pokemon
and Smolive, a grass/normal Pokemon
The official site goes on to describe the game as “…a world that you’re free to explore at your leisure and not in an order dictated by the story”
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will also have multiplayer, putting you and apparently three friends together to explore, battle, and trade, all in the same world.
So I just realized and I wonder if Scarlet/Violet are going to be about time travel or linked into Legends: Arceus or something, judging by the info we have. We know Professor Sada and Turo are based off of “pasada” (past) and “futuro” (future), but then there’s also Koraidon 古来 (ancient) and Miraidon 未来 (future).
For any curious folk, the two new Legendary Pokemon Koraidon and Miraidon are based on a specie of lizards called the Anolis/Anole.
They can be instantly recognized by the dewlap on their necks which both new legendaries have. BTW, those little throat sacks are used to attract/court potential mates.
