A subspecies of Gammoth found in the Elder’s Recess. It adorns itself in lava, having precise control over the temperature of its molten armor to either burn or batter opponents.
And a recolor of the previous icon for a fan-made subspecies, Basalt Gammoth. I will eventually illustrate this in full.

A tremendous fanged beast that shakes the tundra as it moves. Its powerful trunk blows about a blizzard of snow and ice to smother opponents.
MH icons are fun, especially World icons which don’t have to end compressed to all hell. I may do icons for the rest of the Fated Four soon.

Been quite busy it’s insane, but 1 month left before exams and summer break ugh
Wanna know some of the reasons why playing as a prowler is awesome??
- No stamina gauge/management
- No need for items or pouch management
- No need for pickaxes, nets, rods, nor will they break
- No need for hot/cold drinks or taking damage from hot/cold environs
- No need for whetstones or sharpening
- No need to upgrade armor or weapons
- No need for paintballs as monsters are always dispalyed
So here’s my question…
Why in the world did you NOT scale the prowlers for G Rank, Capcom??????
Here’s to hoping Prowler Mode returns some day and Capcom actually does it right (smhhhh).
Went to the training grounds in World and practiced the Long Sword combos. I’m beginning to understand the combos, their transitions, and the overall concept of LS: spin to win Spirit Roundslash to Spirit Gauge level x. (And the basic Fade Slash combo lets you skip Spirit Blade attacks 1 & 2 to go straight to 3 and then into Roundslash.) I still have a lot to learn but it’s starting to make sense. And World is further aging GenU into eventual retirement for me. Infinitely looping attacks, combos, 1:1 actions upon button press, and the lack of long pauses in attack animations adds to Long Sword’s graceful fluidity in World. The same weapon in GenU is a clunky thing that requires one to “dial in” attack commands - an old, draconian style of gameplay I’ve never liked (even if it was rooted in hardware limitations back in the day).
So, as of yesterday it’s official: I can no longer play Switch Axe in Generations. Actually, I can - I just don’t care to. World’s heavily refined and improved iteration of my favorite weapon of all-time has spoiled me and ruined my pre-World SA repertoire and I have no desire to go back to it. GenU’s SA is a wet noodle, in comparison. And while I’ve grown quite fond of my Silverwind LBG and the gunning style of gameplay, I’ve acquired a new love in GenU: the one and only Great Sword. You can’t get any more “Monster Hunter” than the GS: the original big boy of pain. It’s so satisfying to crunch body parts… I’ve sorely missed lobbing off tails. (It’s what I live for.) GenU? GS/LBG. Everything else? Switch Axe for life.
So: I finally crafted a rapid-fire Normal2 LBG - Daora’s Hornet, to be exact (mainly bc Pierce gunning sucks against Mizu, Arzuros, et al). And whoais it powerful O_O Running Quick Sheathe, Steadiness +1, Normal Up, Crit Boost, and Repeat Offender ftw. (Thank RNGsus for Athena.) Now it’s time to pew-pew-pew Snowbaron right in the face (and his butt since it’s a weak point, go figure). Hornet makes me less apprehensive about trying LBG in World - Normal shots were like “mehhh”in my mind. (What can I say? I’m so used to running my beloved Silverwind LBG =)
And, oh yeah: I’m back! Went on a slight hiatus for no particular reason. Trimmed and cleaned up the blog, now it’s time to G-O!
