oof. based on one half of a diptych of self-portraits! I don’t think I’ve uploaded it on here yet? it’s pretty old by now but!!! i still love it.
working from a digital piece was incredibly fun and the physical medium made it feel so much more real. it felt a lot more cathartic painting it out? a physical reminder instead of a digital file to be forgotten.

From a painting class! Took a trip to the art institute (AIC) and was enamored with this painting by Max Ernst.
man!! i really wish i could get the colors as vibrant as they are irl with this one! i really love working with oil on board on these really small, intimate pieces.
I miss painting! just. wish my house was conducive to oils lol.

Emmet isn’t happy to learn Ingo doesn’t remember him! He didn’t intend to hurt him, but as you can probably tell, he’s not quite in control and his emotions are all over the place…
But it’s okay because Dawn is here! And she will save the day! …Right?
For those curious, this is what Ingo says:
Sir, I’m sorry, there must have been a misunderstanding. Please let us talk it out calmly, I’m sure we can find an agreement. There is no need for violence, unless you are seeking out a pokemon battle. In this case, I would ask that you please unhand me promptly.
Emmet tuned him out after he called him “Sir”.

I am incapable of drawing something serious without drawing something stupid and silly afterwards. It’s all about balance.

Nihilego is a parasitic organism and, by latching onto one’s head, is capable of injecting a neurotoxin that subtly alters the thoughts and actions of any human or Pokémon that becomes its host. This neurotoxin stimulates intense feelings of excitement while causing a loss of inhibitions, which acts to forcibly bring out any latent potential within the host while wearing away at their minds.
I have a complete comic planned out for this concept, and it will hopefully update at the rhythm of 4 pages a week! Things don’t look great right now, but I promise it will end well :)
