Small-flowered buttercup (mystery plant of last week), with a big rosette of great mullein lurking in the background.

False rue anemone, fairly carpeting the ground in some spots but also so teeny and delicate!

Hepatica, a luminous, elfin beauty of early spring. The blooms stand on furry, purple stalks and the petioles of the tri-lobed leaves stretch far out in front of the plant. If you see the flowers but not the leaves, sweep back the leaf litter around it, they’re probably hiding.

Sharp-lobed hepatica should be ready to pop before too long here.
