Hepatica, a luminous, elfin beauty of early spring. The blooms stand on furry, purple stalks and the petioles of the tri-lobed leaves stretch far out in front of the plant. If you see the flowers but not the leaves, sweep back the leaf litter around it, they’re probably hiding.
