Only in the past couple of years have I been solution oriented. I’ve spent years opining things I didn’t like instead of finding solutions to the problems or issues at hand.
.
Had it not been for my other half always helping me think in terms of solutions, not complaints, I’d probably still be complaining. Once in a while I find myself in that situation again, and have to reboot.
.
What I’m starting to see now (duh), is that complaints never get us anywhere. And when I find myself around someone who won’t look for solutions, and is a Negative Nancy I don’t want to be around them.

So, I gotta give my other half props for helping this girl out!

It’s #nationaldayofthehorse and it won’t surprise a single one of you that’ve been around this space of mine for a while, that I am enamored with this mare named Cosmo.
.
She’s is more than a horse. She’s a friend, confident, and partner.
.
I know there’s folks that look at me crosseyed when I tell them she’s going to take me places I never thought I’d go, but she is. I believe it. She already has to some degree: She’s won us two Derby Championships, she competed in 9 states in 2021, and won an Xtra Series Tour (which has long been a goal of mine).
.
I learn something from her all the time - most recently it was that I was allowing mediocrity to run our lives. And we can’t be world beaters if I allow her to just “get do enough to get by”.
.
If I want to be the best, I have to work harder than the rest, stay more focused, and have a horse that is punctual and accurate. I’m learning how to get there, so it’ll make it easier for me to get more out of her, as I improve.
.
Horses always make our lives better if we let them. We can learn so much about ourselves from the horse if we choose to.
