Heart Hurt to announce Steak has passed away unexpectedly at 4:45 today. He has a massive cuddle to try and ease his head ache but it wasn’t enough and decided to go adventure else where.

This was a year ago today. The portrait of Ted (Staffordshire bull terrier) was drawn while I was in day service at Evolve, Hull, for Bulimia Nervosa.
A lot has happened in a year, I am not out of the woods just yet but the progress I’ve made has resulted in my discharge from Evolve and awaiting Psychotherapy.
I want to thank everyone who has supported me and put up with Irrational Bekah over the past several years. And thank you to Sophie for documenting this specific moment in recovery, as it was the first drawing I had made in 8 months.
If you feel your behaviour towards food and your body is taking too much of a toll on your life, speak up if you are ready. There is no shame in your behaviours, just so long as you manage them and they don’t rule you you can be whoever you want to become.

An update.
So much has happened over the summer. My initial plan to go to Glasgow School of Art to complete a masters in Fine Art Practice had fallen through as I was unsuccessful in obtaining a scholarship, meaning I couldn’t afford to go even with the help from student finance.
Since then I also got the news that I was discharged from a waiting list for psychotherapy, something of which has now been resolved and now in treatment attending weekly Interpersonal Psychotherapy Sessions. At the moment I am not feeling much progress, but these things take time.
In the mean time I am saving to relocate to Newcastle to set up base and get back on track with a career. Cannot believe it is taking so long, but small steps.
Gale, Stoick, Meadow, Snufkin, Poppy and Daisy are all doing well. Some portraits will be in progress shortly so follow for more.

Hello, how are your craniums in the heat as summer draws near!
Apologies for the lack of activity of late. A lot is going on in the Den and beyond.
I’m shocked and ecstatic to announce that I will be relocating to Glasgow, Scotland, in the summer as I’ve managed to miraculously obtain a place in the Glasgow School of Art to study Masters of Letters in Fine Art Practice starting in September! This is a massive step after taking nearly two years out of making due to recovery, I feel, despite the up and downs that I will inevitably experience now and in the future, I’m ready to get back to work.
Over the last couple of months I have been doing a series of things with my time, mainly exploring Newcastle with my partner, which has been incredible.
I saw Jeremy Corbyn speak in Hull Zebedees Square and had some encounters with some curious creatures in the Hull area. I also gave blood for the first time, and will most certainly be the first of many!
As you can see, Stoick, Gale, Meadow, Snufkin, Poppy and Daisy are all doing fine, they will be coming with me to Glasgow also so stay tuned for their wee adventures beyond the wall.
I also knitted a jumper…thank you alpacas for your wonderful gift of fleece.
Next up is another Bare All For Polar Bears at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park in July, that I have still yet to start raising money for, but I am planning on making some drawings and selling them to raise money for Project Polar!
