Thank you to everyone for all your kind best Loki wishes yesterday, so many I don’t know were to start replying individually, but I really appreciate all of them
As you can see he’s home and happy. He has a massive wound the whole length of his belly and is stoned on tramadol, but he’s here!
I spend most of my life alone working, so my animals are really important to me, the keep me company and talk to me in their own way. My “team” is made up of 2 dogs Loki & Tinks and Billy the cat, the thought of losing one is devastating, not only for me but also for the other 2 team members (& of course the rest of my family).
I know that in the next few years Loki & Billy will leave us, they are both elderly, Billy’s already almost 3 years past his sell by date.
But for us to almost lose Loki so suddenly is shocking & scary.

Day 2 of Operation Sea Slug
Since I’ve closed NDS my dyers muscles have disappeared, and as I spend my whole life crocheting I don’t get much exercise, maybe a weekend stroll with Phil & the dogs.
Even though I eat reasonably small amounts of relatively healthy food I’m turning into a giant sea slug. So it’s time to do some exercise before it’s too late!
So I’ve decided to walk with Phil on the evening dog walk every night, rather than occasionally. Phil has very long legs, I’ve got very short ones, so trying to walk at his normal pace is like jogging for me and I don’t enjoy the walk/jog.
I’m going to take a photo every night, just to prove I’ve walked/jogged every day and maybe by the summer I won’t have to wail “wait for me” every so often as he strides away into the distance
Yesterday we had a lovely sunny walk along the Lyn Way, but I forgot my phone, today’s photo is of the murky, cold Valley of Rocks, I would say at sunset, but this evening there hasn’t been a sun to make a sunset with.

Kate had many wonderful dogs throughout her life worth mentioning but a certain one deserves an individual post - Lobo, the dog she shared with Spencer Tracy. During the semi-retirement she took to care for Spencer, Katharine came home with energetic and faithful Lobo to keep up his spirits.
Although never the same after Spence died, Lobo loved to still ride in the back of the Thunderbird and be anywhere with Kate when she was home, as you can see in these photos from my personal collection!

A Protection dog should be balanced and connected to his owner. It is not a dog that is tied to a tree and given a bite on a sleeve years beyond its expiration date. To achieve this time, patience and consistency as well as proper training is needed.

Mistakes are going to happen but what and how you deal with them makes all the difference. In training, we have to allow them to happen, it’s how you correct a dog. Shout out to those trainers doing the job correct and not always for money.

Well in fact it’s quite possible. Although rare some German Shepherds can have pituitary dwarfism, and can stay puppy-like, keeping their puppy fur and staying small in stature. While this condition makes them look like teddy bears, it comes with a batch of health problems.
