yoorim wonders whether she had chosen a bad time to approach, some people has proven themselves to strongly value their independent studies and the opportunity to remain alone—though she doesn’t necessarily get that vibe right now, she feels the need to make sure, regardless. “ah, am i disturbing you then? i can come back later, if that’s better!” she motions towards the door that she came through only moments earlier, brows lifted in a questioning expression and a gentle curve rests on her lips.

“freestyle is difficult… i don’t understand how some people can spit lyrics from the top of their heads with only a word as inspiration, if that even, but i’m jealous.” while she does mean it, yoorim lets out a soft chuckle that can disguise her enviousness with admiration and a light heart. it’s not like she has spent a whole lot of time practicing rap anyway, or writing lyrics—she has tried producing before, with the help of her half-brother, but that’s about it, and she didn’t do particularly well, unfortunately.

now, it’s her turn to sigh— if only she could beatbox the day away, that would be nice. “me? i’m not really up to much, chatting with you right now.” it’s a bad joke, one that makes her blush in mild unease as she still wonders if she is bothersome. goddamn. why is she so shy, all of a sudden? she then clears her throat, as quietly as she possibly can, and reaches up to run slim fingers through long locks of hair. “actually, i’m still a little confused about what to do right now. i’m not all that creative myself.”

ultimately, yoorim is simply roaming around right now, trying to come up with something productive to do with her time. surely, if she can’t think of anything, she can always practice perfecting the songs for the upcoming evaluation, but instead, she finds herself here, in chungha’s practice room.

chungha shakes her head. it was no problem for the younger to come around and distract her. it was welcomed. chungha was getting nowhere fast anyhow. it was no sweat off her back if she spent her independent study doing something more interesting. “i promise you’re not bothering me. you’re probably saving me from utter boredom.”

some people just had the talent. it was difficult to replicate that calibre of natural creativity. even if someone worked their damnedest, they still won’t sound as natural as those who are quick witted. “it really is so hard. i think i’m a fast thinker in other things but in freestyle? i’d get murdered.” if she ever participated in a cypher she’d be eaten alive. not that chungha foresaw herself at any cyphers in the future but that wasn’t the point. “i can try and get better but it’s hard to reprogram your brain that way, i guess.”

she gives yoorim a kind smile. she had been in her position before when she first started sphere. independent study could be a moment of a freakout especially if you didn’t have any creative talents. it might seem like some free time but it wasn’t. trainees were scolded for not using their time efficiently. “i know the feeling. you kind of feel directionless right now, hm?”

for a new trainee it could seem like doing so much at once is overwhelming and useless. would they really need to learn a bunch of instruments? how often would they be able to use their talents? chungha went through the same thing.

“i guess you can use this time to think of something that’s a little more creative that you want to do. or maybe you can do what i did when i first came: i used it to go to the gym more or to practise on my evaluations. creative things aren’t limited to lyrical writing. it could be choreographies, songs, catchphrases, working on your health.” it could be anything and everything but it took a while for anyone to get that in their head. “it’s a nice kind of wind down after a long training day.”

when introduced to the heartz project, yoorim was obviously curious about the other participants and immediately upon meeting them all, she searched and observed all the girls. chungha, however, aside from the coaches, being the first she laid eyes on— she quickly recognized her and admittedly, she still finds herself somewhat intimidated by the elder trainee’s beauty.

it has been a few days now since yoorim was added to the competition and while busy practicing for two performances, her focus lies with getting to know the others. some might say she is foolish for spending time making friends with them, others might say she is clever for doing so; in her honest opinion, yoorim would rather prioritise being on good terms with them all first.

it’s during independent training that she approaches the other, who she happens to find by herself too. she hopes that she isn’t interfering when she slyly slides over, soft beatboxing gradually becoming louder the more confident she becomes in her own skin. shyness is typically not a word in yoorim’s vocabulary, she has grown self-conscious as one of the newest trainees.

her smile is coy when she fully reaches up to the other, shoulders slightly risen in a defensive (yet cute) manner. “hey, unnie~ what you up to?”

  — ● a closed starter for @rkchungha .

independent study time has always driven chungha wild. what was she to improve on? she felt like she had nothing in the creative sphere that was worth doing. sure, she wanted to be a better freestyler but that was heavily dependent on being a clever lyricist.

perhaps she should start there.

it resulted in her scrawling of lyrical nonsense that was more embarrassing than anything but it was earnest in her attempts. she had to start somewhere. sometimes “somewhere” was really corny nursery-esque rhymes that would make a real rapper laugh. rap had nuance, had depth and was actually clever. heartfelt. that was the real shit. it was going to drive her nuts pushing herself to be better. chungha was incredibly impatient.

a part of her welcomes the distraction when it comes her way. she wasn’t getting anywhere fast so there was no point running herself ragged trying. her eyes flicker to the other as she beatboxes, mildly amused by this mode of grabbing attention. her smile is kind when yoorim finally reaches her. the last thing she wanted to do was talk about her stuff. she sighs.

“failing at some freestyles. i never know what to do during this time. i’m not the most creatively inclined so this slot of free time feels maddening.” and it almost freaks her out that if she isn’t productive, she feels like she’s a failure. wow, has this industry really trained her into thinking that every moment of her time should be on improving and being better. independent study was so hard without a teacher to guide her with what to do. “what are you up to? other than beatboxing your day away?”

Yoorim isn’t sure exactly what she expected upon asking for advice, for she hadn’t at all planned to meet Luda in the first place, but she is thoroughly relieved to notice that the debuting idol is happy to help someone like herself—not to say that Yoorim isn’t important, but she admittedly feels very much insignificant in comparison to the other trainees. She is new, not only to the project, but to the life of a trainee as a whole, and as someone who is typically quite confident, Yoorim is strangely insecure.

Her own curved lips grow into a broader grin of her own, grip tightening slightly around the papers that she holds in her hands. If one thing always remains true about Yoorim, it’s her expressive nature—courageous or fearful, she will always show her true emotions. “Thank you!” She says, before she has even come far enough as to express her concerns. She nods a couple of times in response to the latter part, smile lingering for another few moments as she replies. “Yes, that sounds like a good idea.”

“I think this room is available.” Reaching out, Yoorim then begins to move towards the practice room that she initially intended to borrow for the time being, but only for a short while. Soon enough, she is expected to train with the other girls. For now, however, she checks the room, only to smile and wave at Luda as to say that it’s clear. “I was hoping to hear what you did… if, uh… you focused on something in particular? Like, facial expressions, or eye contact?” She knows very well that the details matter.

Luda smiled in return, only making a movement with one of her hands to show that helping was no problem. In retrospect, even if everything had turned out well for her, she felt like she should’ve asked more people for their help or even just opinions on her solo eval picks and ideas. But that wasn’t anything she had to concern herself with anymore, she supposed.

She followed Yoorim into the room, curious to see what the other had planned. If she was honest, she couldn’t really remember what was expected of them that month, or what they should focus on for that month. With the door closed and them able to fully concentrate once more trainees would show up at the building, she hummed in thought.

“I’d pick out some extra practise time for that where I wouldn’t sing or dance and try to find tips on the internet. Watching popular idols fancams was helpful, too, finding out what made them so popular in the first place. It’s easier to do that than actually practise though, so for expressions, I’d try different ones I thought would fit close-up on camera until I was happy with them and then I’d do the same but while going through the song singing and dancing,” she started to explain, “for eye contact, I put little marks on the mirror, to stare at and made sure to switch from one to the next as well. Keeping eye-contact while talking to someone helps as well.”

At least that’s what she thought worked for her. When it came to charisma, she definitely wasn’t the best to ask, but maybe her tips could still work for the other. “For the most part it’s really just a lot of practise, like singing and dancing,” she added after a moment of thought, though that was probably not quite as helpful, but she knew how she’d struggled to keep making faces at a mirror when she could be singing instead.

— `, ● insecurities .

It has taken some time, but Yoorim has finally managed to learn the general layout of Sphere’s company building, she can now sprint through the corridors to make it to practice in time. It’s only a month ago, though, when she relied heavily on certain people to guide her through what she referred to as a maze. This time, she has come a little earlier than usual, papers in hand as she tries to memorise them, and she practically walks blinded. It’s by her peripheral sight that she notices someone close-by, it’s someone that she isn’t familiar with.

By now, Yoorim has grown accustomed to the other girls of Heartz’ project and their typical movement—this one was different from either of them, so it brings her to look up from her paper that’s filled with lyrics and notes. If the other hasn’t noticed her presence yet, she will when spoken to from a distance. “Hello, sunbae-nim!” Yoorim smiles warmly at the other female, body bending at the hips in a formal bow to greet one of the girls who are already confirmed to debut in Sphere’s upcoming girl group—though, she has practically debuted.

One day, she will debut too and hopefully, it will be in company with Luda and all the other girls. Despite Heartz being an enormous group, perhaps it will be fine, even if she would prefer a smaller group herself. This isn’t the time to be picky, though, because an opportunity like this is rare—no, she isn’t part of the debuting line yet, but she sure hopes that she can land herself a spot. “Are you busy? I was wondering about some advice regrading my solo evaluation, but I can ask someone else if you don’t have the time…” Now, her smile is shy.

Luda had made it a habit to go to Sphere early, just like she did when she was still at kt. It’d been a bit difficult to get used to the surroundings, her memory wanting her to take turns, where there was wall in the way and such. She’s always been an early riser though the long hours did make it a little bit more difficult to wake up and get going, but she didn’t want to come in later either. After two years of trainee-dom, she’s found that most interesting things usually happened rather early in the day.

“Good morning,” Luda replied back after a little start and the girl bowed as well. Unless she came with one of the Heartz girls, she wasn’t really used speaking with anyone this early. Though she’d been here for a while, being busy with the project there hadn’t really been much time to get to know anyone from Sphere really, which admittedly made her a bit sad.

Either way though, she recognised the girl as one of the new additions to the project and her usual, soft smile spread on her lips. She made a mental note to ask the other how she was doing, getting used to everything, as the other’s words were out quicker.

Her smile widened, always happy to help, but also happy that she was even asked at all, surely someone else would be better help than her. “I’d love to help!” she replied warmly, “what do you need help with? And should we head somewhere a little more comfortable?”

yoorim knows that they should return to their practice sooner rather than later, but she selfishly wants to savour the moment that she has with mina. not many can say that they are lucky enough to become a trainee and even fewer can say that they are then instantly added to a competition where the prize  is to debut, to think that both of them experience the same opportunity… it’s mind-blowing, to say the least. besides, who else can she celebrate the news with, than mina? no one, there is no one.

a flash of sadness hits her when she realises that this isn’t something she can brag about to just about anyone, yoorim won’t be able to talk freely about her accomplishments. truth be told, she won’t even be able to unleash her worries and to discuss her upcoming thoughts about evaluations. suddenly, it scares her to be part of a project whilst so undeniably fresh to the sole concept of being a trainee, and though mina shares the same difficulties, yoorim feels a little alone in all of this. strangely so.

mina’s encouragement brings courage and motivation, though, neither of them have a choice but to work their hardest for a positive outcome. regardless of whether they end up debuting now, or not, it will undoubtedly be an amazing opportunity to grow, and to learn—although, now that they have the chance to reach the limelight, yoorim swiftly believes that there is no other outcome worthwhile, than to actually debut. it’s going to be hard; going forward from now, it’s going to be incredibly hard.

“mh! we gotta! imagine if we make it, we have to imagine that we make it. together, hopefully…” she says the latter part slightly coyly, smiling modestly whilst hoping that mina sees it the same way.

she watches yoorim’s enthusiastic response to her and it feels comforting to know that the both of them were on the same page. hopefully, she says. just the fact that she uses the word hopeproves that they both felt the same on how they wished they could be able to debut with the other girls. even if it meant that she’d be up against people who are farmore qualified for being an idol than she is with her three weeks of being a trainee and years of dancing to songs, she was still trying to tell herself to be optimistic.

truth be told, there wasn’t many people she could rant about these emotions too. of course she could trust soobin with any secret of hers now, but there’s a possibility she could get in trouble if she told anyone who wasn’t even a trainee. the fact that he holds such significancein her life is already breaking the contract rules. all of her friends who were already part of the project have been trainees for months already and she didn’t want to burden them with how badly she wanted to debut, too. and daniel, while the main reason for her wanting to be here, wasn’t apart of the project with her.

but she’s glad she has the other. and she’s glad they can go through these next few months of dancing and singing together. sure, it may be a bummer that they won’t be able to do evaluations with their friends in other companies, but that doesn’t mean that this experience would be terrible for them. even if they don’t get to debut in the end, it’ll still be a great learning opportunity for them… even if  mina’s hopes were already so high.

“right. we gotta work hard so that we can debut together!” after saying that, she remembers the fact that they were going to be late to practice. “oh! but maybe we go back to practice first? that way we don’t get on our coach’s nerves?” she gives her a cheeky smile, already not regretting this conversation despite the fact that she might get lectured for it.

rkyurim:

yoorim knows that they are expected for training any minute now, but she justifies delaying the return with needing a moment to calm down and collect herself. it’s unbelievable, she is ecstatic on her own behalf as much as she is on mina’s, and she is much aware about how rare this opportunity truly is. not partaking in a debut project, per se, but rather how quickly they were added—like, how long have they been a trainee already? two weeks?

they are given strict rules not to tell anybody about being part of the project, yet no one would believe them, regardless of whether they spoke about it or not. at least, yoorim would never have thought it true herself if someone had brought the same news to her. as she spots someone in the far back, she is quick to dry threatening tears with the sleeve of her sweater, sniffling softly so that she can continue breathing properly. “i know, right?!”

although emotional and on the verge of crying as result of pure excitement, yoorim grins so broadly that her cheeks are starting to hurt. “like, have you ever heard about something like this before? and more importantly, can you believe that this is happening to us? it’s so crazy…” with this, it feels like it might actually be happening, that she might actually be standing on stage soon—delusional, perhaps, but she can’t help but daydream now.

she can remember how just a few weeks ago, she was confusedabout the concept of the whole entire debut project. all she could think of at the time was how excited she was for bothchungha, gahyeon, andyuzu for being apart of it. but now, with the fact she was apart of it now, it made the pressure of having to eventually learnhow the project works more demanding.she was already confused with how she was doing her training, even if it’s only been a few weeks already since she’s been signed.

the fact that yoorim is essentially going through the same situation as her makes her feel a lotbetter right now. for all she knew, the other girl could be thinking the same thing. the fact that they were both equally excited over this opportunity being given to them. one part of her wonders if yoorim has the same worries as her. about whether or not she should get her hopes up, considering what she’s been told about the project along with the fact that they were going to be with other talented trainees.

but mina doesn’t want to dampen the situation. after all, this is something that has to be celebrated.thankfully, the excitement is still in her and she is able to keep her big, excited smile. “i know!” she responds excitedly. “like… if you took a time-travelling thing and told me back then that i would be in a debut project, let alone a trainee,i probably wouldn’t believe it!” she laughs at the thought of ever being in that situation. but if anything, it makes her a little proudof how far she’s gotten in such a short amount of time. “yoorim, you know we have to try our best! this is basically an opportunity of a lifetime! we just… we just gotta!”

— `, ● girls on fire .

rkyurim:

the wave of strong emotions that washes over her makes yoorim tear up, the sudden appearance of a lump in her throat disgustingly overwhelming and she must take a deep breath. her grip around mina’s smaller frame is tight and becomes even tighter when she squeezes her back, a chuckle escaping her shakily. “what in the world is going ooon!” she asks rhetorically, in somewhat of a whiny disbelieving tone.

both girls are at a serious disadvantage, they were likely told the same thing, but being added to the project can only mean one thing. despite being baby trainees, they must have a chance—well, they mustn’t, yet she wants to believe that anything is possible. mina can be picked; she can be picked. after a good embrace, yoorim finally pulls away to look the younger female in the eyes, her own filled with tears now.

it’s almost annoying her how emotional she can be, though she supposes that being placed in a debut project is very much reason to be thrilled with joy. no, this doesn’t mean that they are immediately given a spot, but they have a chance—maybe it’s a small chance, maybe it’s a big chance. “i—i can’t believe this! mina! is this for real, is this not a dream?!” it really feels to her like both of them did hit the jackpot.

when she hears the sound of the other’s laughter, she couldn’t help but laugh along with her. she wonders what could possibly be on the other’s mind right now about the whole situation. she’s sure yoorim feels just as overwhelmed as well as excited as she is in this moment. with the fact that they both got into the project so early on in their trainee journey, it almost feels surreal to her. that they really aregoing through this together.

the future is definitely uncertain for both of them. sure, even if they don’t have as much experience as the rest of the girls taking part in it, there’s still that goldenchance for them and it makes her excitedjust thinking about the possibility of them being in a group together. of course, mina doesn’t want to get her hopes up for the both of them, but everything that had just happened in the last few hours felt… insaneto her still.

she looks at the other’s tear-filled eyes as soon as they pull away from the hug and she feels herself getting emotional. “aw… yoorim,” she says with a smile, knowing exactly how the other felt in this moment. she almost wants to be the one to pull her into a hug, but she pulls herself back from doing that. “it is!” she almost squealsin agreement with her. “it’s definitely a dream!!! who else can say that they have the opportunity of being in a project group so quickly!” she grins at her and holds the other’s hand tightly. “this is so great.i’m so happy for the both of us!!!”

  • A DAY AT THE RKPICNIC     ━        ⁺

jieqiong had never been one for the outdoors. especially in this heat.

she could practically feel herself melting. when she had finally departed from yoorim, she had found herself aimlessly wandering. not quite ready to go home just yet – though, if jieqiong was being smart ( and not exactly her greatest asset ) she probably would have because home meant air conditioner on blast – she stayed a bit longer. enjoying the way the sun began to set and create a ripple of hazy oranges along the horizon.

it was one of those rare days outs that she didn’t get. often cooped up in a four-walled room with heavy strobe lights and a camera clicking incessantly in the background as she posed this way and that and back this way to the chatter of the photographer and the fussing of the stylist. it wasn’t bad work, nor was it remotely hard but jieqiong did think it could get quite mundane if she thought about it.

and she hardly thought about it because the mundane of it all would just depress her and jieqiong was not here for that kind of negativity. her make up friends always told her the more negative you were the more wrinkles you’d get as you grew older and hello, it wasn’t like jieqiong wasn’t getting any younger.

she pauses by a tree, finally finding some shade – although pointless considering how the sun was beginning to grow shadows from the depths of her soles rather than from the top of her head. all in all, if jieqiong looked back on the day – it hadn’t been a bad one. she had stayed long enough to finally hear the hypnotically raved BOL4; ate some mediocre convenience store food and chatted long and well with friends she hadn’t seen in a while. if anything, it was probably a better day than most – she got to see yoorim, got reassured that her baby was well fed, healthy and surprisingly happy despite the hard work her company was throwing onto her baby shoulders ( the thought made jieqiong’s heart break a little -- and was that a tear in the corner of her eye? ) ; it was a good day.

  • ON MY WAY TO YOU      ━━━━        ⁺

rkyurim.

would it be right to assume that yoorim feels awful? yes. it has been a little less than a month since she was made part of sphere’s debut project and following this rare opportunity, she suddenly went radio silent on all of her friends. as someone who historically texts her friends on a daily basis, it should be noticeable when she goes missing, and that especially during summertime, when the school are all closed for the holidays. but, well, no one has sent out ‘missing person’ notes yet.

yoorim supposes that everyone has been busy these days, though she wouldn’t really know since she has refrained from communicating with anyone. it’s not like she hasn’t wanted to, these past two and a half weeks has simply has been too overwhelming—like, when she signed the contract with sphere in mid-july, there was no way she expected to have a chance at debuting so fast. best case scenario, she hoped that she might reach the stage in the next few years. not… months…?

now, she doesn’t really expect to receive a spot, though. why should she, after all, when there are so many other talented girls that deserves it more? all the questions make her feel suffocated, all the uncertainty and insecurities make her feel helpless. she has come to realise that despite being strictly told not to talk about the project, yoorim simply has to, for her own sanity. she needs advice, she needs guidance. but, first and foremost, she must see her friends to see they are alright.

she had only just spotted jieqiong when her phone rings, the device already in hand as she was looking for the other. “i see you! don’t move, i’ll be there in a second!” by the sound of her tone, it’s obvious that she already grins brightly—finally; time to relax, time to be herself again, fully.

⁺     before she even has a chance to greet the other ( more like chastise because if jieqiong hadn’t noticed it’d been ages since she’d seen the other she was sure yoorim must have ) , yoorim youthful voice comes ringing in her ear and all jieqiong can do is hush her giggles at the other’s words. but she accepts, “ah, alright. i’ll stay right here but don’t come sneaking up behind me, okay!” she warns before hanging up the call. the other’s words don’t stop her from turning around, looking even more for the other’s familiar head of hair and above-normal height.

( though, she supposes if standing next next to jieqiong who shared the other’s height by the by, it probably wasn’t as abnormal ) if anything, jieqiong probably looked as abnormal standing by herself within the throng of average-height folk.

but the sight of the other girl come bounding her way brings a wider smile to her face. immediately her arms latch around the other’s form, happy to see that while it has been long that yoorim still looks happy and healthy. so, after her arms have come undone from their ever-so tight embrace, jieqiong does what she does best. she slaps the other’s bicep with a huff. “yah – if i go radio silent, you can’t go radio silent too! you know i need love and attention on a daily basis.” her lips protrude into a slight pout, something that probably doesn’t fit her elder-like status.

  • ON MY WAY TO YOU W/RKYURIM     ━━━━        ⁺

it’s been ages since she’s seen yurim. ( an oddity for jieqiong because unlike most of her friends, jieiqong was one who made it a habit of being an absolute nuiscaince and making sure she stayed in the loop of her friend’s lives at all times – however, time moves faster than her when her schedules and shoots with chuu end up clashing with her social life and she falls off the radar, something no one had thought would ever happen )

to make up for this misstep, jieqiong proposes a cute picnic date. but rather than a cliched wooden picnic basket set in hand, jieqiong bears gifts of glee. in one hand a cardboard bag full of new goodies that have yet to hit the stores at chuu and in the other some delectables she had quickly picked up at the nearest convenience store, housed in a plastic bag. sure, it wasn’t cute or ideal – but jieqiong thought the convenience was better than nothing.

she walks along the throngs of people laying in the grass in their own clusters, spending their hearty weekend day in mirthful enjoyment. the distant sounds of a busking duo could be heard from where she stood in the middle of them all. her head turns from left to right, hoping to catch a glimpse of familiarity among the crowd – if yurim had somehow escaped her notice – but to no avail.

so, she picks up her phone, ready to dial the younger’s number in hope of getting a hold of her. jieqiong quietly wonders if she had given yurim the wrong address to the park.

All kinds of thoughts spin around in Yoorim’s mind when she decides to approach Yuzu after practice one day, she hopes for some advice in regards of what move she should make next. Well, that’s the excuse she used anyway, though aware that she doesn’t need to mask her intentions with the other—after all, they are friends from before the project. Still, Yoorim doesn’t necessarily want to impose, and she doesn’t want to take up too much of the other’s time now that she prepares to debut.

How she wishes to soon follow Yuzu’s footsteps, and to soon prepare for her own debut. That’s why she keeps asking the other trainees, why she keeps asking the other girls who are making their official appearance for help and guidance. So far, she believes that she has made good choices in regards of picking a song for her solo performances, but this time Yoorim finds herself indecisive. “Which do you think that I should go for? Want, or Eclipse?” Straight to the point, uncharacteristically so.

— ● a closed starter for @yuzurk.

She can tell the other is tense when approaching her. Yuzu expected a bit of- dare she call it jealousy- after being confirmed as a member of heartz but she’s glad that it doesn’t stop yurim from wanting to reach out for her opinion. If anything she’ll gladly help the younger girl out and give her advice in any way she’d want.

Damn… those are both great songs… eclipse is more on the rap and vocal  heavy side, while want is more about charisma and execution, right?Brows furrowed she ponders over the options seriously, not minding to sit down and take the time to help the girl out. She doesn’t call Yurim out for her brash approach but instead indulges her like she generally tends to do. Even if perhaps she didn’t understand the full extend of the other’s feelings, she could imagine the general gist to a point she understood to just go along with it.

What do you reckon is something you’d like to show more?

yoorim can’t help but make a face when ericreveals that he doesn’t often eat out, somehow seeming in deep thought whilstconsidering the suggestion. though she doesn’t like to show off—which can bedifficult at times when having a considerably thick wallet filled with daddy’smoney—she wants to have a nice lunch together. she promised to take him out, after all, if she could talk him into tagging along to the star bright audition.“you sure? you know you can pick anywhere you like~”

if eric has already decided, however, yoorim simplywants to make sure that he knows his options; she is certain that they willhave a good time, regardless of where they decide to eat. not to mention hergrowling stomach, which attempts to warn her that if she doesn’t feast sometimesoon, she will suffer waves of nausea. after giving him some time to think andmake up his mind, she then tags along. since she isn’t a hundred percent certainabout the location, she lets him lead the way.

“gosh, i’m starving.” as per usual. anyonewho knows yoorim, knows that she has an intense appetite. always. how shemanages to keep such a slim figure despite eating for two people, is beyond herand most of her friends, although there is likely a good explanation behind it.“but things are good, really! a little busy admittedly, but nothing compared tohow it will be when uni starts again…” she sighs by the mere thought of combiningtrainee and university schedules. “how about you?”

eric feels bad letting yoorim treat him to lunch, even if it was repayment for him accompanying her to the auditions. he’s always rather nervous accepting things from people, even though he knows, sometimes, it’s okay to accept people buying him things. it still bothers him a little, and he makes sure the restaurant they’re going to isn’t an expensive one - he’s not about to take advantage of his friends generosity.

the restaurant, though, isn’t one he’d eat at often since it’s not the cheapest place around. it’s a nice place, one that someone who isn’t struggling financially would probably frequent. “it’s a nice place.” he assures yoorim with a smile. it’s a family run korean restaurant - it’s one of his favourites because it reminds him of his grandmothers cooking, who he’d only met after moving to seoul, and didn’t get to see often because of his busy schedule.

“me too.” he responds, frowning a little - he’d not eaten breakfast today, having been in too much of a rush to get to work. “yep, i know that feeling.” he says with a laugh, speeding up a little as he turns a corner and spots the restaurant up ahead.”there it is-” he points to it with a smile, eager to fill his stomach. “i’m busy as usual - work, uni, keeping up with people and hobbies.

if onething is true about yoorim, it’s how she always honours her promises. today isno exception as she is on her way to meet up with a friend who she guaranteedlunch, in exchange for his company during star bright interviews a couple ofweeks back—in fact, not only his company, but also the fact she talked him intosigning up himself. it seemed like a good idea back then and now, she would undoubtedlystill say the same.

she gotexactly what she wanted out of the interview, after all, that being an auditionfor sphere and furthermore, a contract. what about eric? she is honestly dyingto find out. finally arriving to their meeting spot, she waves in an eager kindof manner, showing her typical energic and enthusiastic self—nothing out of theordinary here, not with her. “yah!” she chirps, once closing the distancebetween them. “did you want for long?”

“ah, haveyou thought about where you want to eat? you can pick anywhere you want.” and momentslater, her stomach growls lowly in response. it has been a long, hectic day, sopacked that she has barely been able to take a bite of her snacks—if anotherthing is true about yoorim, it’s how she always bring snacks with her, wherevershe goes, just in case she gets hungry. she grins sheepishly at the sound ofher tummy.

ever since starbight interviews eric has wondered how yoorim got on. he wouldn’t be surprised if she got into some company from it. him, on the other hand, hadn’t even gotten past the auditions, which was to be expected. it hadn’t bothered him, he’d enjoyed the experience, and wasn’t delusional enough to think he’d ever make it into an entertainment company. he didn’t have any skills other than song composition really - he’d reluctantly admit he was pretty good at that. but, when it comes to things like singing and dancing, he’s average at best.

he’s waiting outside the agreed upon meeting place, lost in thought, when he hears a familiar voice call out. turning his head his eyes fall on yoorim, and he beams. “yeah, i’ve been here ages.” he jokes, laughing, then clarifies, “nah, just got here a second ago actually.” just in case it wasn’t clear that he was joking.

eric’s about to respond, when the growling of her stomach makes him pause, then snort and grin. “i was thinking this place just round the corner from here? it’s really nice! i’ve only been once before, since i don’t really… eat out.” he admits. it’s no secret that he’s as broke as they come, and all his friends know he’ll only ever splurge on the cheapest fried chicken he can find. starting to head off in the direction of the restaurant he looks over at yoorim with a smile. “so, how’s things?”
