It’s actually turned into busy day for my posts, so I was just being lazy earlier, the next guy is a legend, Jack Bruce was born on May 14th 1943 in Bishopbriggs, Lanarkshire.
Jack was born to musical parents who travelled extensively in Canada and the U.S.A, he attended 14 different schools, finishing his formal education at Bellahouston Academy and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music, to which he won a scholarship for cello and composition. He left the Academy and his homeland at the age of 16, because of poverty and discouraged by his professors’ lack of interest in his ideas.
After playing with some of the elite of rock during the early 60’s and turning down the chance to play in Marvin Gaye’s band Jack formed Cream with Ginger Baker, and Eric Clapton. The band were a massive success in just over two years they were awarded their first ever platinum disc for Wheels of Fire. Jack wrote and sang most of the songs, including I Feel Free, White Room, Politician and perhaps the world’s most performed guitar riff, in Sunshine Of Your Love. Cream split in November 1968 at the height of their popularity; Jack felt that he had strayed too far from his ideals and wanted to re-discover his musical and social roots.
Bruce went on to collaborate with the likes of Frank Zappa, Lou Reed, Cozy Powell, Gary Moore and Jon Anderson, as well as producing the soundtrack for the Scottish film The Slab Boys, with; Lulu, Edwyn Collins, Eddi Reader and the Proclaimers.
Bruce had suffered a period of declining health, after many years of addictions which he finally beat with clinical treatment, and in 2003 was diagnosed with liver cancer. In September 2003, he underwent a liver transplant, which was almost fatal, as his body initially rejected the new organ. He recovered, and in 2004 re-appeared to perform Sunshine of Your Love at a Rock Legends concert in Germany organised by the singer Mandoki.
He continued to perform in the 10 years or so up to his death of liver disease on 25 October 2014, in Suffolk, England.
In my opinion Cream were the greatest rock group of the 60’s and I think Bruce is a bit like the forgotten man of rock.
The song I’ve chosen is Weird Of Hermiston, it’s title comes from an unfinished novel, Weir Of Hermiston, by Robert Louis Stevenson, , although the lyrics make no reference to the story.

Real name Gordon McRory, the Scottish Drummer was born 16th May 1983. Gordon McRory is best known by his stage name Mince Fratelli: he is the drummer and backing vocalist in Scottish band The Fratellis.
The band formed in Glasgow in 2004 after Mince and other band members stuck advert sin a windows of record stores in the city. The “Fratelli” pseudonym name came from the criminal family in The Goonies and received their first radio playing in 2005, on central Scotland’s Beat 106 (later XFM Scotland, now Capital Scotland) Fratelli means brothers in Italian so I think them taking the surname fits perfectly. I have heard that bassist Barry’s mother’s maiden name was Fratelli, Barry’s actual surname is Wallace, but it really was Fratelli before his mother remarried.
For the drummers out there Mince plays with a Premier Modern Classic (mahogany and bird’s-eye maple and a Ludwig wood snare.
The band have released 6 studio albums, the latest, Half Drunk Under a Full Moon came out in April 2021, having been delayed a bit due to the pandemic, it reached number 12 in the UK and 3 in Scottish charts. Their single Chelsea Daggers is their biggest hit to date and is a great anthem like song.
I’ve chosen another anthem from the lads, a version of the Baccara hit Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, the song was famously adopted by The Scotland football team after they qualified for the UEFA Euro 2020 championships.
I don;t get how anyone could fucking like the band Queen, there music sucks and there members are ugly! And worst of fucking all, Freddie Mercury disrepcted Sid Vicious. How fucking dare he???
I Realy Do not undersatnd why pepole do not like Steven. Steven has never do anything wrong!!!!!!!!!111!! Steven also sould not get bulyed four his former drug adcition, cuase Popcorn is peferct. Steven Popcorn bby is Godly and he sould Be lovved. pEopole need to STOP bully Addler. Steven is great drumer, he is much beter than Niel Pert, Jon Bottohm, Rogar Taylor (Quen suckz asz), Keeth Moon, Ringo Star, and Lars Urchin.
