These photos made me so enraged yesterday that at first I couldn’t bring myself to post them. I almost cried from helplessness against this injustice.
These are photos of Mariupol destroyed by the ruzzians. And the ruzzians placed these photos on the streets of the annexed Crimea with captions like:
“Destroyed house. Civilians are suffering because of the Nazi regime in Ukraine” “The house from which Azov fired at civilians” “Drama theater stage blown up by Ukrainian nationalists”
Yes, you read it right. Ukraine is apparently killing Ukrainians, which only accidentally coincides with russia’s announcement of a “special military operation” in Ukraine. /sarcasm
They had the audacity to bring up the Drama Theater in Mariupol. The same Theater that served as a shelter for approximately a thousand civilians, mostly women, children and the elderly. The same Theater that had “CHILDREN” written on the ground in large letters, so that the ruzzian pilot could see it and maybe not drop bombs on them. The same theater on which the ruzzians dropped heavy air bombs, instantly killing or leaving under the rubble to die a slow painful death at least 600 people. Innocent people. Children.
Let me lay it all out for you. Russia attacked us in 2014 when we were at our weakest and most vulnerable. Russia occupied parts of Donbas and annexed Crimea. Then finally russia attacked all of Ukraine, murdered thousands of Ukrainians, killed about 20 thousand Ukrainians in Mariupol alone. To now show these photos in the annexed Crimea. These photos of a shelter that has become a grave for hundreds of innocent people.
And they captioned it like this: “drama theater blown up by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the purpose of provocation.”
Is it possible to do anything more evil? I swear this is some “cartoon villain” shit. The level of russian ruthlessness is absolutely insane. It makes me want to leave the planet they live on.
According to Ilta-SanomatandIltalehti, Russian propaganda websites such as News Front,Novostivl, and Discover24 have published claims that Finland is moving military equipment to its eastern border along with a video of armoured vehicles being transported on a train.
In reality, the equipment seen in the video was being moved to a military exercise in Niinisalo and Säkylä.

Perhaps some of you are wondering: why does russian propaganda love the word “russophobia” so much? What exactly is meant by it?
By now you probably know that in russian imperialistic, words mean something different than in other languages (for example, they habitually call rape and murder “liberation and denazification”). In accordance with this feature, when they say “russophobia”, they mean nothing else than the existence of other nations. This existence, for the russian imperialistic mindset, means the refusal to be russian, which according to the same mindset can only stem from “hating everything russian”.
So congratulations: if you are not russian, you are one of those very russophobes that russian state propaganda constantly threatens with nuclear extermination. Russia is, from its own point of view, surrounded by enemies while any other people and nations exist on Earth.
I understand that this is Ukrainian filmmakers who are talking, but I think I can talk about their point as it is. Without demonstrative pity and wide gestures. Let’s stop for a moment here and think.
“Russian cultural boycott” will not help fight against russian propaganda because culture and art are not the part of it. In the moment propaganda tries to use art and culture to brainwash people - its stops being art. How can you not understand that? All of those propaganda movies in Russia are not art, and are not it’s culture.
There’s plenty of independent russian filmmakers, artists, illustrators, animators, poets (etc) that surviving and have an ability to speak about problems in this country JUST because they had a way to go to the western “stage”. And now you want to take away this from them? What’s the point? How this boycott of everything russian (and that means including stuff that is already against regime and propaganda) will help Ukrainian people that are became refugees or siting in bunkers right now? This is just demonstrative gesture that will not help anyone and just will make situation worse.
Culture is forming by its own, when government wants to influence it - it responses, culture is a separate body from the government, regime, propaganda and even history.
You can fight russian propaganda WITHOUT banning and boycotting everything russian. Isn’t that obvious? I don’t understand how it’s not obvious.
Please, HELP independent russian artists that are continuing talking about truth and important problems, that continuing making art in this regime. Not strangle them. Please.
