“Let the past die.” Here’s Adam Driver as Kylo Ren to follow on from Rey (see previous post). Bring on December 19!

“We’ve passed on all we know.” Star Wars, like for so many of us, has been with me my whole life. I have this vague memory from when RotJ first came out, which was my first Star Wars experience on the big screen, that there was an accompanying flyer talking about how George Lucas already had ideas for a trilogy of sequels. I remember a wave of excitement rushing through me. I know we had the prequels first, and at the time I was very excited about those too, but I never could have imagined it would have taken so long to see the conclusion of the Skywalker saga. So here we are, decades later, and now I’m a father myself, but the magic of that galaxy far, far away still feels as strong to me today. It’s still my dream to be able to paint some official artwork someday (though I loved sketching over 50 drawings for the Solo: Tales from Vandor book last year!), but in the meantime, I thought I’d do my best to carve out some time to make some character studies. Here’s Daisy Ridley as Rey to kick things off. Bring on December 19!

When I spotted that Mandalorian and Good Bad Ugly shared the same number of letters, I just had to make this parody piece!

Officially licensed Scarface poster, available to preorder for 72 hours from Zavvi!

It’s a 16” x 24” giclée print, and the edition size will simply be however many sell over the next 3 days. This is your only chance to guarantee owning a copy in this format. Needless to say, I’m very grateful to have been able to pay homage to the iconic Brian De Palma movie. Huge thanks to Universal Studios, and to Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer (or at least their ‘people’, we can’t be totally sure, though it’s likely they saw it) for approving their likenesses. Thanks also to Fanattik for the opportunity, and of course to Zavvi for releasing the poster. I wasn’t able to include Al Pacino on my The Godfather poster last year as the license didn’t allow for it, so this certainly helps to make up for that! Any help spreading the word is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Seeing as we’re finally in the Endgame this week, it was a thrill to make this for the cover of @gq’s weekly Hype magazine. Just can’t wait to see it! You can read the article at bit.ly/gilbeygqendgame. Thanks to Central Illustration. Art direction: Keith Waterfield.

My Die Hard poster is available now from Zavvi! You can pre-order it for 72 hours until 6PM GMT on Thursday 6th Dec 2018. The 16” x 24” high quality giclée print is £29.99 and will be accompanied by an authenticity certificate.

I’m very excited to have been able to create this officially licensed artwork to help celebrate the 30th anniversary of this classic movie. It’s certainly in my own personal top ten. Whilst it’s of course an iconic action film, I wanted to create something more about McClane being the ‘fly in the ointment’. It’s ultimately about how he outwits Gruber’s gang from the shadows of the elevator and ventilation shafts. This moment in particular is where the tables start to turn. Produced in collaboration with Iron Gut Publishing.

The Godfather – available for the next 72 hours only with Zavvi! Head to bit.ly/gilbeyzavvigodfather. This 16” x 24” high quality giclée print is officially licensed by Paramount Pictures and was also approved by the Marlon Brando estate for likeness, which as you can imagine is a dream come true. This timed edition is only available until 9pm GMT this coming Sunday 4th November. Further down the line I’ll have a handful of artist copies, but this is your only chance to guarantee a print.

It is a great honour to have had the opportunity to create some licensed work for Francis Ford Coppola’s iconic film, and it’s not something I ever could have hoped would happen. Produced in collaboration with Iron Gut Publishing.

Here’s my finished poster for Beginner’s Luck, an independent Canadian film directed by Carlo Licont

Here’s my finished poster for Beginner’s Luck, an independent Canadian film directed by Carlo Liconti. It’s been great to work with Associate Producer Claire Lee on this one. The film is a road trip/romantic comedy, which sees the protagonists (played by Jarett Knowles and Camille Stopps in pursuit of the other half of a winning lottery ticket.
