SSL security, which has been available on the dashboard for a while, is now here for blogs. To turn it on, go to your blog settings and enable “Always serve blog over SSL.” Mmmmm, security. Check out our help docs for more info.
An update on this:
- SSL is being turned on by default for all Tumblrs that use our Official theme on the web, except those with custom domains. Because, well…Optica is the default theme, and why shouldn’t secure be the default?
- This change only affects the web, because the mobile apps already use SSL all the time for your safety.
- We don’t recommend it, but if for some reason you need to disable SSL, you can do so via your blog settings on the web, by turning off the “Always serve blog over SSL” option.
Update to the update: Now SSL is available for blogs with custom domains, too. To turn it on, go to your blog settings and enable “Always serve blog over SSL.” Once you’ve done that, it takes a while (typically less than a day) for the SSL on custom domains to activate. We’ll send you an email when it’s ready.
Check out the update above for blogs with custom domains, and follow our friends @securitytoo!
If you’re getting uncomfortably close to your data limit, try data saving mode. It’s in settings.
When you’re on a cellular network, videos and gifs will wait to load until you tap them. When you’re back on wifi, everything will autoplay as it was meant to.

Really loving this tumblr feature where it forces me to view posts I don’t want to see from blogs I don’t follow
Update: you can turn it off in Settings > Dashboard! This option was not there last night lol
But newbies need that graph paper stage to learn spacing! ;o;
Maybe that type of leg up could help wider game audiences into the fighting game niche? Maybe not waste time showing the training stage in the trailers though.
Also, who the heck is choosing the training stage for a tournament? If you’re fighting in a tournament, then it’s time to take the training wheels off, I’m sorry. Also, if a tournament is getting broadcast/livestreamed, then isn’t there someone in charge of making sure it looks entertaining? They should get to eliminate the training stage.
Tumblr: *rolls out “best stuff first”*
My blog:
on the one hand this is a joke post because lol i have never made a good post in my life, but also, if i hadn’t made the connection between this update and my sudden nosedive in activity, i would have been really fucking discouraged about all the shit i’ve been working on lately. i guarantee there are people on tumblr right now who haven’t made that connection, and who are trying to figure out why suddenly no one likes anything they’ve made. and that fucking sucks.
Reminder to go into your settings and turn off ‘Best Stuff First’ because my activity’s tanked a couple days ago for no reason so this stuff IS happening.
You WILL miss content with that setting on.
i ain’t joking when i say that my activity looks JUST like this too and i wasn’t sure why
I was wondering what tf happened over the last couple days
Worst updates and the worst
THIS SHIT. It’s not okay. They need to undo this feature. It’s murderous.
