Now when you see a post containing something that shouldn’t be on Tumblr—like spam, hate speech, or other violations of our Community Guidelines—you just tap the meatballs menu (●●●) in the upper right-hand corner of a post and follow the appropriate reporting flow. Our Trust & Safety team will be notified and zap away anything that doesn’t belong here on our platform.
People who create spambots or abuse any online platform in the interest of non-genuine social gestures are really good at finding new ways to develop and implement their spam. It’s what they do. We are constantly evolving and expanding the ways we find and eliminate the spam in response to that. You can read more about our process over here. Surfacing this reporting flow is just one way we’re continuing our efforts. While you’ve had the ability to report spam for years, it was a bit hidden under the airplane icon. This new button makes it a little easier to report the bad stuff you want off your dashboard.
This was the problem: You’d be searching for Field of Dreams, the critical standout film of 1989. But instead of Kevin Costner, you’d get rolling hills and wildflowers. That’s because we’re giving you the best stuff tagged #field or #dreams (or #of).
Here’s the solution: Choosing #tagged in the app bundles the whole phrase together. You just search for something and tap #tagged at the top of the screen to show posts tagged with that exact phrase.

If you’re getting uncomfortably close to your data limit, try data saving mode. It’s in settings.
When you’re on a cellular network, videos and gifs will wait to load until you tap them. When you’re back on wifi, everything will autoplay as it was meant to.
If you have an iPhone 6s or newer model, you can 3D Touch your way around the Tumblr app. Specific things for you to press really hard on include:
App icon: Press on it, you’ll get a shortcut to search Tumblr.
Tumblr name or avatar: Peek at one, get a preview of that Tumblr. Pop all the way into it and see the whole thing. (Also, you can swipe upwards during your Peek to message the blog.)
Is your biggest fear fast reblogging to the wrong Tumblr? Good news: We added an undo button on the confirmation bar. Just one less thing to worry about. Now you can focus on spiders.
I deleted and reinstaledl the tumblr app on my iPad. Said device is an older one; can’t update to iOS 10. Reinstall said I was getting an app that would work with the last version of 9. Loaded fine but when I tried the app later, I got a “unable to authorize” gray box at the bottom … the timeline won’t update. Tried deleting and reinstalling again … same result. If anyone reading this knows the problem and solution, please let me know. I have sent a note to support.
Still works fine on my desktop, so it won’t change anything here.
So this was a thing I tried to post via the tumblr app last week, but it got stuck in uploading, so I posted it on the mobile site. I guess it finished uploading last night?
Just realized that I hit 11,000 when I was away! Thank you guys! Tumblr is acting weird, and won’t open through Google on my phone, so I finally caved and got the app.
Y’all, this app might be shitty but it’s got the ability to add a read more cut so PLEASE add them to your long ass posts ESPECIALLY your fics and spoilers!!

Tell everyone you possibly can, make a post of your own, share this and reblog it and spread it like wildfire to save sex workers and nsfw artists.

These are people’s lives, their money, their careers, their hobbies.
Tumblr is supposed to be a place of creativity and freedom.
If they will not remove this ban & find a more efficient way to remove the actually harmful content (like all the pedophiles) then we will not use this site any longer.
One of the reasons I feel so comfortable using Tumblr over other social media is because this site is clearly too incompetent to be evil.
The basic business model of a social network is to harvest commercially valuable personal data and sell it, most famously via targeted ads. Anyone visiting my blog can clearly see that I am a queer furry who’s into video games and art. And yet I am only served ads for funeral homes, Bible story DVDs, and the current president’s reelection campaign (in 2018 for some reason)

I’m a social media manager for my day job and Tumblr is literally the only social media platform I can relax on anymore because it’s so incompetent when it comes to exploiting my personal data.
Plus tumblr (even though its going through a rough patch) has a shit ton of content that caters to everyone basically. Things you won’t find on other social media platforms. There are so many different content on here to fit everyone’s personal style or interest(s). There’s practically something for everyone. And if there isn’t, you can make it. Especially art! This is a artistic outlet. It is a better platform than twitter, Instagram, and even Facebook. Here so many people from all over can see your work and love it if its also their interest. Boom instant connection made. Tumblr is also fandom central. Steven universe? We got that. Video games? Yeah we got that too. Movies, yep. Books??? Oh hell yeah we do. Whatever you’re into its gonna be here one way or another.
As for identity, you don’t have to display exactly who you are. You don’t have to share your personal info. Just make make a nickname for yourself, a sona, or whatever and you’re good to go. You basically make a brand new one on here. You can be who you want to be on here. You’re make a brand for yourself on here. Also granted that people can be assholes on here too just like any other place. And can get too extreme over the smallest of things. There’s also people who downright vile and evil on here too. But every website will have that “dark side” to it. Other than that.. It’s really not that bad. And hopefully tumblr will get it’s crap together so it can improve itself. This website as so much potential. It just needs work.
Heyyy just wondering when tumblr gonna show nsfw content again??? Cuz I use some of that material for references and other stuff… Like my kinks and shit. Also of this site goes down hill is there any other popular site like tumblr? Besides twitter,insta,ect.
