Overall this book was a quick and enjoyable read. We once again enter the world of Caraval, in all of its magic and mystery. A lot of lore was introduced that wasn’t mentioned in the previous book, which made the story feel very jarring to get into. While the details of the plot were completely new, a lot of the larger plot paralleled the first book in a way that felt too repetitive. That said, I bought in and was happy to enjoy the journey. I’m looking forward to the third installment.

I swear, Jacks is a walking bundle of my favorite tropes. Stubborn, cold, full of mystery, but secretly soft for the person he (hates to) luff. Has a token quirk (eating apples) And then this scene! When the pair are put in a precarious position of one endangering the other against the former’s will, and using all of their willpower to fight against it. (Very specific trope!!)

It’s finally here! Happy release day to Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber! A little illustration to celebrate!
Ever since I first read Legendary, Jacks has always been my favorite character in the series and I was stupidly happy when his spin-off series was announced! I am SO here to learn more about our mysterious Fate and love the clever way Stephanie has woven this new story from the lingering threads left over from Finale. Our new protagonist, Evangeline Fox, is just what we need to pick our heartbroken prince off the floor for this new adventure!
For those of you just picking this up today, I hope you love exploring this as much as I did. New characters, new places (I love winter settings!) And new dynamics introduced to the Caraval universe! It’s truly a modern fairy tale, with lots of kisses …and lots of bites. Absolutely can’t wait for the sequel!

A heady mix of Sleep No More, Labyrinth, The Princess Bride, and my high school prom. Perfect for those who love fantasy, perfect as a gateway drug for those who think they dislike the genre. Ends with a bang, neatly avoiding the book 1 curse (dopey cliffhangers, eye rolls from readers) with a final reveal that will make you want to high five (or punch?) a stranger. I genuinely cannot wait for book 2.-Cristin

The Ballad Of Never After
I was very lucky to read The Ballad of Never After a few days ago and I decided to post a brief review of it here because this book is everything and more.
I won’t say much in this post because I’d like to keep it non-spoilery as per Stephanie Garber’s wishes, but if there were to be a list of books I would love to read again and again for the first time, TBONA will definitely be on it!
Stephanie outdid herself in every aspect— story telling, plot, twists, character depth, angst, character development and yes— romance!
Evangeline and Jacks beat all her other couples by a wide margin, not only as individual characters but also as a couple. One of the best feelings for a reader is to see the characters they love and root for develop, bloom and grow throughout the story, and it’s what we get here. Their character development is amazing and you find yourself them to get their Happily Every After!
TBONA is worth all the anticipation because it is the best Stephanie Garber book till date! And I cannot wait for everyone to read and love the book, Jacks and Evangeline.
You’ll are not prepared.

Okay, so idk what the deal is, but for some reason my posts about this thing I’m doing on my side blog aren’t showing up in the tags, so I’m just gonna post it here too.
I’ve officially gotten into enamel pin making and I’ve recently put up a preorder for this pin set on my Etsy! Each pin is available individually for $11.00 and for $50.00 for the whole set + shipping. I really need preorders to do well so that I can order these, and there are 25 total available for each option, although at least 2 of each individual pin has sold thus far. I believe there are 17 left of the Feysand variant, 21 of the Rowaelin, 23 of the Baeseult, 23 of the Kell & Lila, 23 of the Dantella, and 25 still available for the whole set together.
Because having pins manufactured (especially this many) is on the pricey side, I’m heavily relying on preorders to have these pins made, so even if you aren’t interested in buying any, a signal boost would be much appreciated. I’ve been trying and epically failing to get the word out here on tumblr thanks to this tagging issue so it would mean a lot. Also, if you are interested in purchasing one, please consider snagging a preorder. Like I said, it helps a lot when it comes to ordering them!
