firesidetextiles:

The first batch of embroidery bobbin charms includes bundles of charms for DIY use in any commercial or personal creative projects, and finished pieces like earrings, necklaces, zipper pulls/cell phone charms, and a small amount of dollhouse sized bobbins.

THANK YOU!! The shop drop for the bobbins was a success!

If you checked out the shop page, ordered something or spread the word on socials, thank you for your support! (There’s still some pieces available! And I’m going to put some up on Etsy if you’d rather shop there.) All but one order was shipped out today. I’m currently going through jewelry findings for the next batch.

Two questions:

1.What type of metal earring findings do you prefer, for pierced ears or clip-ons? The ones from the first batch were some old samples and possibly silver-plated brass. Recently I thought stainless steel was the way to go, but after finding out they tend to have nickel and can cause metal allergies, I’ve been considering sterling silver or even gold. However, those two options are much pricier than either silver-plated or stainless steel.

2.What type of finished items would you like made for round 2 or have available for custom commission slots? (I’ll also be keeping the unwrapped bobbin charm bundles for those who want to do DIY for commercial or personal creative projects.)

Just got back from dropping off orders at the post office. Back to ironing, photographing, and post process editing pics of hand printed fabrics.

Another peek at sewing projects, some reusable coffee cup sleeves I originally started back in 2017.

Excited to share new work for New York Times bestselling and Eisner award-winning creator Jeff Lemire (Netflix’s Sweet Tooth, Black Hammer, Gideon Falls) — the publication design of a limited, and oversized hardcover edition collecting the bestselling MAZEBOOK series (published by Dark Horse Comics). Bringing the Mazebook to life through design, the publication features a cloth cover with embroidery, foil stamping, a color ribbon and gilding, signed tip-in plate and a rich backmatter section featuring illustrations by guest artists and Jeff’s notes on the creation of Mazebook.

This caps the creative journey we embarked on when I joined Jeff and Dark Horse Editor Daniel Chabon to develop the publication design and visual identity for the landmark, best-selling series.
