Pain in spring.

Further exploring the tools CosmicSpectrum used in her pieces. This time using highlighters.
My first Leyendecker study! And who better to practice on than my newest fixation, The Interviewer from The Amelia Project!
Style exchange! Jake Long in Juniper Lee style! not very detailed or hi-quality but I liked working on it for fun anyway.
the idea was to try other toons in this style too but i got tired and distracted by other work, so another time!

thought I should share this here too. I’ve been doing these “style studies” for over a year now and every now and then I’ll do a new one, so i’m open to requests and suggestions of this sort! Either a character in the TLATOJL style, or June in another show’s style! Go wild :)

Finally cleaned up these scans a bit :’) Did these around the same time as the Ben10 + June in RTA style sketches.

After the American Dragon art I did, I tried drawing these characters in the RTA style too.
I thought for a few weeks that I’d forgotten to scan this and would now have to scan a version where I’d accidentally ruined the other side, but luckily I did scan it way way long ago and here’s that! These were really fun to try and figure out after the studies I’d done for Jake and Rose.

Happy birthday Carro!!! Here are these two, against the odds!! For anyone else, @neopuff has great cartoon vids and fandom stuff on her blog so check it out!!
I had something else planned, but since my computer sorta poofed on me (fixing it), I had to improvise on my tablet. I was kinda partial to the sketchiness so I tried to keep it as fresh and painty as possible! I got inspired by digging around Tangledconcept art and boards, thought it would be fun to combine these two Disney series :) Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure style was also really fun to learn!

10 years ago I entered @court-records-net‘s 2008 Original Character Contest and thought it would be fun to whip up an entry this year to see how much I’ve improved in that time! Ace Attorney is my favorite game series and has brought a lot of joy to my life, so it was fun revisiting its world.
I had more poses/content planned for Shelly but I was working on this down to the last minute of the deadline, so I just had to suck it up and shoot down my perfectionism. Plus now I’m a working artist…I don’t have the luxury of time that my 13 year old self had!
I’ve included my old entry under the cut just for funsies—I still love the lil guy.
